One of the finest soundtracks ever! This finale is heartbreaking in the movie: loss of friendships followed ultimately by the loss of their land and an entire civilization. Barry captured the enormiity oof the loss and hearbreak in a few bars. Amazing!

@MingnonDunn Nice comment. John Barry's score for Dances was a highlight in an already incredible career. If you're interested in the history and tragedy of the American Indians and you haven't already read it, read Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. I don't think I've ever read anything as painful and heartbreaking as that book.

@Tapiola2007 This is true. My late husband, who was Italian, loved that book. Some nights he would read parts of it to me in bed and he would become visibly moved to tears. I will never forget that. I haven't read the book myself yet but it is on my list.
