  • great idea!

  • Great tip !

  • I just received a Sherline (Craftsman 527-2142) model as a gift. It is missing a lot of parts, not nearly in such nice shape as yours. Any idea where I can get parts? Does Sherline still sell them?

  • @jhammondbeck Sherline in California still makes all the parts to fit the old lathes, they still sell them yes. They will even refurbish older or broken lathes if you send it back to them.

    Great USA company!

  • Great tip, altough I onw a taig, this easy to make mods are a great improvement if you have a sherline.

  • You just keep gettin er done, Sam !!

  • shopdogsam,

Is there anything that you cannot do!

You prove that country boy logic can definitely get er done.

I will confer to you a Ph.D. in Common Sense from the University of Hard Knocks.

At 55 years old, my 82 yo Dad says that I already have a Ph.D. in B.S. but I will have to work hard to attain a Master's Degree in C.S. He doubts that I will ever get my Ph.D. in C.S. I'm trying, but it is very hard and rare to attain it.

From the West Coast of Tennessee.

  • Such a simple mod, makes you wonder why they didn't make em like that in the first place! Nice one Sam.

  • NUTS!.........This answers my previous question aye?

  • Nice little lathe, Sam
