This is NOT acting. Anyone who has ever met a person with dementia knows that this is EXACTLY what dementia looks like. This video is not "crossing ethical and moral boundaries", this video shows appropriate redirection techniques for agitation and repetition. I am using this video in my graduate nursing presentation on dementia and non-pharmacologic interventions on inappropriate behaviors. I couldn't find many videos this helpful. Thank you to the owner for posting!
I recently browsed a cool project that someone has done to raise awareness. Nice way to experience the disease. Just thought I'd share it with you all. Take a look sortmeout.sg
I'm sorry but praying for these people won't help, endless love and care is what's best for them. There is nothing worse than having someone suffer with dementia and have no one there for them
@ ghjafkglfakjgto - this is all too real for me. my husband and I live with it everyday caring for my mother in law. wish there were more people brave enough to show everyone what life is like for them & their loved ones. U should be ashamed with yourself for being too embarrassed to confront a common disease. This vid should wake u up...
This fucking better be acting because if this is real life you're crossing ethical and moral boundaries and should be disgusted and ashamed with yourself.
@RadicalCreations42 This is only violating confidentiality if a worker posted it. If a family member posted it, it's not. It doesn't identify the patient by name, only by her dogs name and the fact that she at one point in time lived in Florida. My guess is with agitation and repetition like that, she isn't living in the same place she thinks she does. This is a good video showing how to calmly and appropriately redirect behaviors.
@XipurplefuryiX I think it's more memory problems and not being able to understand where or who you are at times. Some people with dementia think it's like years earlier then it actually it. You may not even care though considering you asked this question a year ago :P
