if you back wind you have more control, even with smooth clutches if you dont back wind 1 head shake can make the line wizz off the spool and either snap the line or whiplash the hook out, even if the cluth is set lightly

I disagree with carp magic. as long as you keep the pressure on and a bend in the rod, 9/10 times you wont loose the fish. Its when you take the pressure off that you loose the fish. And chilly is a professional. I really dont think he would do it if it lost fish. :) i do agree with it being an awesome video tho. Keep them coming !

back winding loses fish, Dont get me wrong this carp is a babe of a carp and hes a great carper! but backwinding loses carp and people should get out of the habbit. They spent 1.8 million designing a clutch because we moaned for one lol. Fantastic fish and fantastic video cant wait for more.

@CarpMagic95 playing off the clutch loses more! i have never lost a carp whilst backwinding! i use a compination of the two and only have the clutch set enough for a fish to take line if it bolts where im not quick enough to backwind. if a carp runs i will never let it run off the clutch. seen so many carp lost due to it but horses for courses.
