A quality recording of the great baritone Benjamin Luxon.
I personally prefer the sound of a baritone singing this work as I feel the overall tessitura is better suited for a baritone, together with the brightness of the tone.
Decent performance by Paul Ringham as well. It is nice to see both singer and trumpeter communicating with each other. Having said that, Ben craning his neck isn't that sensible!

I think I'd possibly be inclined to credit Pauls performance with a slightly stronger adjective than decent.
Looks like a small bore Besson D he's playing - not as easy as he made it sound!
