@shiteater5000 The RMS used to be 5000/2500rms but after 2007 i think, they downgraded all their Solo X models to lower watts. Even the 18" are only 6000/3000rms now

you have the port of the box facing up towards the underside of the back dash right? If so, did you cut a hole into the rear deck to let it int the cab better?
@drewbaby20 so you have a final impedance of two ohms or both subs at 2 ohms....because i have the same exact thing and i dont know how to wire both subs correctly
@BigConey93 everything is at 2 ohms.. from + on amp to positive on one sub the from that same positive (on sub) to the positive on next sub. same goes for negative. from amp, negative from amp to negative on one sub and from that same negative (on sub) to negative on the other. and then the other voice coil on each woofer are wired together + and - run a wire from between the two.

@BigConey93 not sure what you mean. just make sure you arent crossing voil coils when connecting the positive and the negative together on each individual sub. so voice coil 1 on both subs are connected from the amp. so AMP + to SUB 1 + from SUB 1 same + to SUB 2 +. AMP - to SUB 1 - from SUB 1 same - to SUB 2 -. then the other + on sub 1 is connected to the other - on sub 1. and same with sub 2.

@moneyking46000 do you have any experience with car audio, cuz if not.. and you get this setup you're speaking.. you wont go over 145 dbs. sorry man. gotta have a pretty ridiculous electrical and tuning to reach a score like that with these subs.
if i was you i would deff. get a high current amp to be able to lower the ohm to basically as low as you can get them and try and go with 2 ohm subs and as big of a ported box as you can put them in. on the amp i would get something that can put out atleast 2500 rms so you have a little extra power to play with. and look into a big 3 upgrade, new altenator and a new battery or 2. you'll deff. be satisfied with a set up like that. I dunno about the 155 db mark though.

@hockeypla26 what your friend said doesnt make sense. 4 12 kicker cvrs can put out 1600 rms watts and two 15 l7's can put out 2000 rms watts. battery wise it doesnt matter what subs you have it matters what amp you're using. whatever an amp draws will determine whether or not you need another battery or alternator.. I have a single yellow top battery running off a 65 amp stock alternator (soooo bad) it works, i have major voltage drop, and my system doesnt put out nearly as much as it can.
@hockeypla26 ...... so, get whatever subs you want and whatever amp you want. a second battery to power an amp for 15 l7's or 4 12 cvrs (doent matter) is recommended if you want to power htem correctly.. might be important to invest in a new alternator as well.. im pretty sure my zx2500 draws about 250 - 300 amps at full power and my alternator only puts out 65 at like 4000 rpm.. it works in my situation but not recommended.
@lmiles07 yes. if you are talking about speakers of same power rating. comparing the cvx to the l7 for example.. l7 will be louder in proper box and power applications

ive got a kicker zx2500.1 on my 4 12' cvx and they shove. ive got 6 thousand total watts. ive got a pair of 15 L7's sittin in my garage not even bein used cuz i upgraded. but the 2500 is def the amp u need to have to push them 15s. your system sounds pretty good

@danthefireman007 no problem, box is 30x38x13 tuned to 36 hz using all 3/4" mdf. 6.4 cubic feet after port and sub displacement. the dimensions of the port are 15" height, 5" wide, and 15" length. i would recommend a bigger port though.. there is some port noise.
@Jonsman91 port can really be any size, as long as its tuned correctly, the reasoning behind it not being as big as you may think is because this is the biggest box i could build for my car. i think my next setup will be a ground pounder (deep bass)
@danthefireman007 box is 6.4 cubic feet after port and sub displacement tuned to 36hz. the design was made by me.. and the design is this small because it is the biggest i could fit in my car.. if i had unlimited space it would be around 12 cubic feet tuned to 28 or 30 hz

@low72 i have zero gauge.. 1/0 is 0 gauge... dont know where people are getting the idea that i do not have 0 gauge wire... i actually have 2/0 for my next system. and a zx2500 for two 15 l7's will blow the subs if played full.... two zx1500's on two 15 l7's is too much.. a 1000 would be the most you would want.. probably around 11-1250 watts rms @ 2 ohms and for the 1500 about 1750 rms @ 2 ohms which is smoking these subs..

my electrical doesnt back it up, just waiting to get a new vehicle before i touch the electrical and the fact that i have a seat and a peice of 3/4" mdf between the cabin and the trunk blocking out sound.
they have been known to, but in my case no.. too many variables that are keeping it from reaching that far.. when i throw them in my truck.. (temporarily) they should hit much harder.
@CarCustomsEnt never heard of 'joe' boxes? personally i like custom builds... fits perfectly with your setup and sounds the way YOU want it to! And yes it slams quite well... once i add another battery and supply enough amperage to keep up then ill really be slamming.
but they are very expensive..but i love the bass..2500 rms each...i payed 450 a piece..and my amps are the new massive nano blocks...there 11 inches long and put out 2000 rms...

not bashin or nothin but try a different head unti. my brother had a nice alpine and went with a pioneer that cost less and it was alot more louder. just a suggestion
sorry man but alpine and pioneer are both the bomb when it comes to head units.. louder will not come from a different head unit.. how you have it set up, will. This head unit is great, it has wayyy more customization sound wise and such... i actually think its safe to say you can make any head unit sound great through the use of processors and equalizers.... that is if you know what you're doing

hell yea. bout time somebody who builds a good box. good setup. you should get 0 gauge wire for your system tho...what do you think about the 2500 on 2 15's or 1 zx1500 for each one? I'm still debating

@low72 i have zero gauge.. 1/0 is 0 gauge... dont know where people are getting the idea that i do not have 0 gauge wire... i actually have 2/0 for my next system. and a zx2500 for two 15 l7's will blow the subs if played full.... two zx1500's on two 15 l7's is too much.. a 1000 would be the most you would want.. probably around 11-1250 watts rms @ 2 ohms and for the 1500 about 1750 rms @ 2 ohms which is smoking these subs..

@CarCustomsEnt never heard of 'joe' boxes? personally i like custom builds... fits perfectly with your setup and sounds the way YOU want it to! And yes it slams quite well... once i add another battery and supply enough amperage to keep up then ill really be slamming.

yeah i couldnt find the song..just the artist.
but i just got rid of the same system as u...i had the 1500.1 kicker and it had problems twice.
so i just redid my whole system and got 2 ascendant audio mayhems and 2 massive 2000.1s...its about 6 times louder then my L7s

but they are very expensive..but i love the bass..2500 rms each...i payed 450 a piece..and my amps are the new massive nano blocks...there 11 inches long and put out 2000 rms...

@Metaliica474921 i would say a zx750.1 or a zx1000.1 but be careful with the 1000 thats a lot of power for an l7... probably around 1200 watts rms @ 2 ohms

not bashin or nothin but try a different head unti. my brother had a nice alpine and went with a pioneer that cost less and it was alot more louder. just a suggestion

sorry man but alpine and pioneer are both the bomb when it comes to head units.. louder will not come from a different head unit.. how you have it set up, will. This head unit is great, it has wayyy more customization sound wise and such... i actually think its safe to say you can make any head unit sound great through the use of processors and equalizers.... that is if you know what you're doing
