I understand that for you, this song is entirely out of context without hearing the entire album. 'The Human Equation' is magnificently done as an album, though without the emotional connection you make by experiencing the whole story told, it probably doesn't mean as much. I assure you though, Arjen knows his stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised but if that happened I'm sure Devin kicked his ass! Devin was by far my favorite vocalist of the entire album especially on "Loser". Everyone else on this album's voice pissed me off so much that I gave this CD away. After the Into the Electric Castle album, Arjen just seems to better enjoy taking already famous prog singers instead of taking no names. Devin is not nearly as well known as he should be, but in my opinion he is WAY better than Labrie!

@OneLeggedPuppies2010 I think you're comparing apples and pairs there. Devin mainly sings scream-style on the album, while Labrie only sings with a clean voice. You can't really compare them. If everyone pisses you off except for Devin, it's good that you gave the album to someone enjoying the music. However, I like both Devin and Labrie, but I wonder if anything really happened between Arjen and Devin.

Arjen Lucassen is very talented and "The Human Equation" is simply BRILLIANT!!!!! I love the way he composes, He chose everybody for each role perfectly, This video is not vey expensive to make (being Arjen of course) but you really get a chance to observe each artist, props to Mikael Åkerfeldt when he interprets "Fear" you can really catch on to the emotion. If you listen to the album from beginning to end you'll be absolutely addicted!!(Especially with Day 12: Trauma) Warning!
