where does this artist "julie" get the money to fund such an extravagant production of work? assistants,studio ect.? Transport of such large work to museums? Please! Someone explain to me the funding process of such a lifestyle!
This was a consignment from Goldman Sachs (now installed in NYC). And she collects a pretty penny for her work. But to the explain the process: They wrote a proposal in the summer of 2008 while in Berlin for a fellowship at the American Academy in Berlin. Guess what... She was awarded the the commission... And if you don't know her work, take the time to go see it. It is amazing.

It is amazing! I love the scale, and the precision and then apparent abstraction she incorporates? wonderful work!
