I just think Gervais gives off the aroma of intellectual superiority but I dont think theres much behind it. I think you may have misunderstood Ricky Gervais, he can seem a bit like a cocky bastard - but if you listen to one of his interviews by Piers Morgan, he sounds like quite a nice and hard working chap.

@KidsWithGuns1992 Humor, firstly, isn't something that you'll quite often find stupid people being able to pull off. Secondly he's made it into a career, most if not all comedians who have made it "big time" I would say are quite intellectual - you have to be able to pick up the subtleties, the quirks, the strange twists on things that make certain subjects humorous.
