Hey Bezirk, The whole thing was improvised on the spot except for the rhythm part which is a song by Michael Schenker called Armed and Ready. If you punch it up on google, you'll be able to get the tabs for the rhythm part. I always solo on the spot and for me to write down what I did would take forever man!!
You have to hook up a distortion pedal to record distorted pieces? This is a problem when you want to record during a live set and im running direct into my stack. Is there any way i can put it between my head and cab?
When I record dirty sections, I use a distortion pedal. You can try to hook up a distortion pedal from your Head to your cab. There should be a cable that hooks up your head to your cab. Unhook that and plug it into the RC-2 and run the output from the Loop Station to your cab.
don't do that! you'd be plugging a speaker cable into the RC-2 and a cable into the speaker cab.. you'll damage your amp and possibly speakers too.
if you use amp distortion, put the RC-2 in the amp's fx loop. ie between the fx 'send' and 'return' (sometimes labelled 'preamp out' and 'poweramp in').
Thanks! What would you do if you don't wanna use the amps distortion but rather use a distortion pedal. Would you hook up the cable from the guitar to the distortion pedal and then the RC-2. Then from there, go straight to the Head unit and then into the Cab?
yeah, Guitar > distortion pedal > RC-2 > Amp input. make sure you use a speaker cable between the amp and cab though. if you use guitar cable you'll blow parts of your amp up that are expensive to have fixed/replaced.
man, that's great work. very nice soloing. really!! I am a bassist in progress, and basically i love jaming with drums. and that little gizmo looks absolutely great. what do you think is the difference between the RC-20XL loop stastion and this one?
Thanks for the comment! The RC-20 is everything the RC-2 is and more. It's a little bigger in size. I've heard great things about it and the RC-50 as well.
The 2 systems have their advantages and disadvantages. I personally like to use compact pedals in a pedal board daisy chained because of the versatility in the settings and sound. If I wanna rearrange the order of a pedal and put(certain pedals) it anywhere in the chain, I can do so and slightly add colour or alter the sound somewhat.
Whereas the multieffects is a little cheaper in cost, but I don't like the fact that u really can't get certain sounds u desire because the original sound that comes with the unit is the one you'll get.
The only thing is you might be able to enhance the tone , mids , & bass of that particular sound. Another thing is if u have to repair something, u have to take the whole rack in whereas I would just take out the pedal that's broken and still be able to play through the pedalboard. This is where versatility is important. I've spent over a thousand dollars Canadian to finally get all the pedals I need to get a tone I'm happy with.
hey man, nice vid, just wondering, can i use all my effects with it? i mean, run distortion, wah, and delay pedals to record??? is it a good buy overall?
Thanks for the compliment bro! You sure can record with a distortion, delay and wah; just be very careful not to use too much effects as you can muddy the overall sound with too much on at the same time; especially after you lay down the bass and rhythm fills later on. On this video, I basically used delay, phaser, Compression, & EQ.
Great overall buy my friend! Go out and get it because it won't disappoint u. You can also erase the last track u did if u end up not liking the sound. Enjoy it!
Ran out room as they only allow 500 characters. Back to your question of whether it is a good buy? In my opinion--super buy as I only paid $185.00 before taxes here in Canada. It's worth every penny and more. I use it everytime I jam and practice. It'll improve your timing, creativity, rhythm and lead playing since it's like jamming with a band, but the difference is you get to create your own rhythm, basslines, fills, and soloing. Plus, you get to choose whatever 4/4 beat u desire!
Great/awesome pedal, but it took awhile to figure things out as the manual wasn't all that user friendly. I basically did a lot of things by trial and error. Took me about a day to figure it out. There are some things I still don't know how to use properly, like the 3/4 beats. Hope this helps bud!!
amg sick how much did that cost you?

hm....i believe the RC-2 is more than enough...one more question... what do you think is better single compact pedals or multi-effect pedalboards?

The drum beat coming from the loop station too or is that a different machine?
rlta04 3 years ago
The beat comes from the pedal as well. It has something like 33, 4/4 beats

cool pedal
