i owned this album in the 70s and one of my biggest regrets is that i sold it with my entire record collection when i was 17. nice to hear it again. now i know its on cd i will get a copy as it brings back a lot of happy memories'
Ok, the competition was definitely tough for progressive bands in the 70s with such monsters as Genesis, Yes, ELP, Jethro Tull, King Crimson etc. But I can't bring myself to believe that this album and In spite... are still relatively unknown in the progressive rock community. I had heard nothing of the band myself until 2005 or so but when I listened to the samples on their website I was hooked and left wanting with more until I found the cds. Long Live Gnidrolog!
Interesting tune....horns pushed way up in mix,ala T.O.P.....Mars Cowling on bass...what's not to like. ?.....anyone know who did the stunning painting for the cover....?
Love this, my two vinyl copies are treasures.......I remember talking to Nigel (Pegram) at Steelye Span gig in Bristol many moons ago and he seemed rather gobsmacked that I was raving about Gnidrolog, although I guess back then the lp's hadn't reached collectable status and sadly were vitually ignored until much later.
Glad to hear you guys are still very proud of Gnidrolog, and so you should be.
Remember them well from the 70s at Henry's blues house upstairs in the old Crown pub ahh those were the days, needless to say i,m an old git now but good music stays with you for life!
yes - it really is me! we are still very proud of Gnidrolog - Colin and I are exceedingly well and Nigel is living in Oz! Mars has retired and lives in Florida.
I saw them in 1972 as first support to David Bowie (also on the bill were Thin Lizzy) in the VERY early Ziggy Stardust try outs. My memory is hazy but were they brothers, twins or something?
I saw Gnidrolog way back in about '71 and really didn't like them at the time. Having heard them for the first time since then on this tune I have to admit I may have been wrong!
Thanks! Finally someone puts up Gnidrolog songs :) I cant believe why this band was such an unpopular act... Im 18 and I love Gnidrolog's music, so does most of my friends. Actually, all friends I've introduced to Gnidrolog, love their music. Both their albums were rock solid, all tunes were really, really, really great. All I wish for is that this band should have survived for at least another couple of albums or more.
Did you know there's also an album from a few years ago called Gnosis - about 2000 or 2001 I think. Not in the same class but then it was nearly 30years later, and it ain't bad. Alsothere's a live album from a 1972 gig, released around the same time.

Like Gentle Giant which I think is the most comparable band Gnidrolog was extremely profiled among the progg elite and maybe with more mystique

Wonderful song, just a fantastic and unjustly ignored album. Awesome to hear from Stewart Goldring and long live Gnidrolog!

great stuff..reminds me of Pavlov's dog, a band that put some stuff out in the mid 70s

@whiskeynale69 Saw Pavlogs Dog in St Louis in the 70s. My brother in law knows the lead singer personally.

Who's the painter flashed in at the end?
Looks like I'm too late for the CD of this album. There is still a CD claiming to be the first two albums but I am wary of these being incomplete.

I use this song in commercials I have to film for school. Perfect commercial music for the first 41 seconds.
