Why didn't they make this their newest single?

Why is it that every other videos on YouTube has this song with the audio all screwed up? Especially those related to TVD. Don't get me wrong, I love TVD.

This song has been my favourite ever since the album came out. It's so frustrating when I hear the audio all jacked up and Jason's voice so high-pitched. THIS one is exactly how it is on the album.
