Sorry to say that, but there is a flaw in your theory, the dummy you use for testing always has the same armor, but in pvp when a new expansion comes out, people have worse gear in the beginning too, so you should hit them about as equal as with better gear, because their defensive stats are also lower.

Though it was super fun to watch warriors turn a corner mid way through an expansion, and become far and away the best DPS class, I always felt for new warriors every time they nerfed them, because those new players weren't overpowered at all even with top skill.
