  • I'm Pinoy and I'm into hip-hop. The difference is I'm from The Philippines and this is where I live. I've been to the US and met alot of Fil-Ams, some are nice while other are a bunch of dicks. But in all Fil-Am culture is different from mine. They may be of Filipino ancestry but their culture is way different.

  • yea the original filipinos were black the aboriginees not sure how its spelled but yea deviousmonk your absoutley right

  • FYI Everyone! Original Filipinos are blacks such as the Agta, Aeta, and Atis. Some aboriginal blacks of the Philippines intermarried with the Austronesian (popularly known as Seafaring Malay). These black people of the islands may have pass their genes to us, dont you guys ever wonder why some of us have black feature? Anyways for some hip hop is a way of life, its really not about the color of skin.

  • cool

  • @deviousMonk Very true and glad you pointed that out because sadly alot of filipinos hate to acknowledge that fact. One love & God bless!!!

  • I dont think they are "acting black" Hip-hop is a genre of music thats just happend to be created by black people everyone listens to hip-hop, now if they were rcok stars would anyone be complaining??? I doubt it!

  • im filipino caryin my brown pride around

  • Hip hop's about the struggle and last time I checked everyone can relate to that no matter what you are.

  • I really dig you guys movement and like that you appreciate black music and In due time black people will appreciate your music and we can all get paid.

  • im black, & im feeling the phillipino hiphop movement. yall keep doing yall thing, one love.

  • here in the philippines... hip-hop is not that big... rock & roll is the shit here, know what i mean... we like rebel music a lot because of the situation here, something has to be done in order to change the corrupt system... you know... peace

  • Hip-hop in the Philippines is big but its mostly underground and its not as hyped as the rock scene.

  • no one gives a shit about your country.

  • Whats that moron? your country is a shit? Nobody gives a shit about you too asshole...

  • This video does a real good job portraying the Filipino Americans in Hip Hop. Were not traders, were not trying to act like black folk. You might look at it like Filipino Cultural dance. For people who do it, do people think they are trying to be spanish? (except for the dances coming from the south) Cause lets face it, most of our dances came from spain. its the same thing

  • "Cause let's face it, most of our dances came from spain."---I disagree. There are many more that come from non-Spanish influences. When I was a Filipino folk dancer under the tutelage of a past Bayanihan troupe member, our dances were more non-Hispanic than Hispanic.

  • Im not Pilipino, Im Filipino American. Why? because if i go to the Philippines, im different, i cant speak the language or whatever. Here in America im not American. Why? Cause my skin is brown. So im Filipino American. The culture in between.

  • My skin is brown like yours yet I consider myself an American first and foremost. Maybe it's because I fought for this country and I feel I "earned the title". If the military is not for you, do something for the community at large. You'll feel better about being an American of brown skin when you realize that there are whiter Americans that don't do shiet.

  • I dont get it, If your not a filipino because you cant speak the language, then you call yourself filipino-american, but you dont look like an american. then what are you dude? an eskimo?

  • there is no definition of "american". america has no ONE ethnicity. america's ethnicity is westernized media and the alleged "melting pot". so if youre referring to american being "white" then yes i dont look like an american. but "white" isnt american either. its european. american is Indigenous. so white people dont look american either.

  • you're a complete moron.

  • If you live in america, youre not considered pilipino your filipino. Filipino American to be exact. Since the Filipino Americans dont have a rich history like Pilipinos do, we have to create our own. Hip Hop WAS black music. is it still? yes but with more diversity. Were not trying to act black, were just contributing. Anyway, in Hip Hop there is no color line, its just Hip Hop.

  • We have to create our own? Hip-Hop is not our own man, its owned by them black music, we're expecting more originality. But I agree we're contributing in hiphop industry... By the way, If you live in america your not considered american either man, you dont consider yourself filipino? then what are you?

  • i meant we have to create our own culture as in filipino american culture. not hip hop. hip hop is black music and it always will be. im filipino american because "american" is a culture thats based on not just white ideology but many kinds of immigrant ideology combined with westernization. what do you consider american? white? i know im not considered american in regards to white america. but i still live here. and my lineage is filipino because of my parents. thus, im Filipino American

  • Yo if you aint 1st generation filipino or born there do you really consider yourself filipino, you wouldnt be in the philipeans

  • what you get influence by and what you think is cool is what your gonna have passion fo cuz they fucken luv hip hop

  • it's a diverse world in the U.S so everyone is going to feed on everything around them and capture what they thk is cool influenced. If you seen a white or blk guy in a kung fu class that doesn't mean he wants to be asian. they just want to learn the art or the technique of martial arts or maybe they thk it's cool not cuz they wannabe azn. So the video da ppl aint tryna be blk they just luv hip hop.
