i was with BSA Troop 262 in st pete fl when we went to the yorktown 2 of our guys actually blew the cannopy off that cobra gunship...... so much for deactivated
Also we went to the one island (forgot name, its were the civil war started) for the flag raising. We pwned the boyscout there who "claimed" they were good at color guard. We kicked butt when we raised are flag, all the other groups of people were looking at us
Also during the fire drill that is required we were the first group outside. We were perfectly lined up at parade rest before we saw anybody else.
We freaked the boy scouts out when that happend too. I am on staff at my squadron so I was told (along with the other 2 staffers) when the fire drill was so when it happend we started yelling (not hazing yelling, yelling as in "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE..this is a drill..get out!) and the boyscouts were in awe. They were all like whhhaat lol
watching this again reminds me of how much it kicked ass. I wana go there every year with CAP!!!
MORE MEMORIES::
are room was connect with another room with a bathroom in the middle. The whole other room was boyscouts and the other side from us was boyscouts. We really freaked them out when we started doing drill and (not yelling because that would be hazing :) raising our voices. Also we did encampment 1 minuet showers and got up and 630 lol. We totaly pwned the boy scouts lol
that escalader was not on for us, and it was fun slidding down
the flight deck and towere were sweet.
the sumberen, destroyer, and costguard ship were fun.
I remember that keep off sign
the main room was awsome with all the airplanes
the only thing about the "do not enter" signs were that you COULD go over them without getting introuble, they were just there to keep a straight tour path. and you can find secret rooms not usually found on the tours
I just got back from there for a civil air patrol field trip. we were on there from Saturday-Sunday. I remember everything perfectly. it is a great trip and highly recremended. one thing that was cool is we found a secret, off limits room though about 7 little frooms from our barracks.
I love your video. I am a girl scout leader and we took a group of 47 there this past weekend. It's an incredible trip. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone. Thanks for posting this.
