For those who say that this is a wrong 6 stroke roll. It's not.
The title says "6 stroke roll". Now, when you read that, you actually thinking that it should be triplet notes count as six in two beats. But it's not.
Remember, the lesson is about STROKE, it's about the sticking patterns, not about the notes. Hope that helps.
i hate it when ppl are so hung up on definitions. While the usual six stroke roll played with triplet feel and all notes are of the same length and accents on let 1 let 2 let 3... This guy plays in 16th notes with the 1 and the ee in 32nd notes. So it is: (11 ee) and ah (22 ee) and ah... 32nd notes in (). His 6 stroke does sound good, with great application to the groove too.
So guys, stop wasting time criticizing. Instead appreciate the difference, the unusual, the creativity...
@bkhoavo actually in the "formal" rudimental 6 stroke roll all the notes are not even though many ppl play it as triplets evenly spaced the technical way of playing it is that the single strokes , the first and last note hold a longer place in the music so it would be R ll rr L or L rr ll R but this sticking example here works great on the kit and has its place
Go to Vic Firth's website. This is totally the 6 stroke roll.

This is NOT a properly executed 6-stroke roll: it has to be evened out. Oh, and you must pull the drumstick out of your ass

hmm.. I always thought "six stroke roll" was;
....R LLRR L .....
(accent on single hit, beginning and end)?

I don´t know where you learnd to play drums but where I did a six stroke roll isn´t a five stroke roll with an additional 16th note!

I guess just any old roll containing 6 strokes constitutes the 6 stroke roll then?
