  • hi dave i have been think about a better controller ive only got a hornby select ive seen your other videos on the dynamis and was wonder what you use for track booster's for extra ampage thanks glyn

  • @maloneturbo Hi Gly, I do not use a booster, just the basic Dynamis, , but I do run abus line with droppers to it every 4- 5 ft. this keeps the feed to all parts of the track , mind mine is fairly big.

  • hi thats super realy liked the video and the layout some nice detail and the dcc sound ace ,i can't wait to get started on my layout

  • @maloneturbo Thanks for your comment, It is something I wanted to do in a long time , but only started 4 years ago, but now retired , I get more time , you will enjoy your modeling once you get started

  • i really like your layout, how big is it?

  • @Robnix66 It now is about 30ft x 8ft.

  • Excellent. Lots of detail and imagination. Well done.

  • @dibble419 Thank you very much for your comment

    Dave

  • @hardcorejay025 Thank you for your comment , as you can see at the end there that I started small, and it took me just over 2 years to get to that stage, ,mind I did get carried away, and now it is nearly 4 years since i started and I still enjoy changing and adding new bits. will send you a newer one

    Dave

  • that is an amazing layout and collection of trains and rolling stock! What type of coaches are the coaches being pulled by your Sir Nigel Gresley?

  • @mackiemachine3 Thaks for your comment , the coaches are the Hornby Mansell .

  • Wow, fantistic. It's an impossble dream to have such a large scale railway model in one's working room. It's so much fun to watch the every details of your layout. Proud of you.

  • @hswukinlok Thank you , and don`t forget all Hornby are made in China now

  • those trains with sound sound horrible but the layout is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @10thstudio Thanks for your comment

  • mint

  • @alex68vg thanks , it has changed a bit by to-day.

  • hi it me again

do any of u have any tips on how to make my layout derailment proof

  • @poisonarrowfrog100 Make sure all your track is pinned down flat, no bumps, all your points must also be flat and lined up, also if you have trucks or carriages with plastic wheels , change to metal, any very light trucks , add some weigh to them i.e. blue tack some heavy fishing shot underneath , But the main thing is all must be level, and make sure your joints are tight

  • I take it that your never bored?

  • @MrCriticOfAll Never get the time to be??

  • That must have taken a huge amount of effort, I like the lights / night scene.

  • @bellyfloptv Thanks..will send you a later one ...this layout has taken me just under 4 years , but mainly winter night time hobby

  • this is the best model railway iv seen in a long while...

  • @N3misis91 thanks you very much for your kind comment

    Dave

  • Smashing layout.Thank you for showing it.

That poor welder must be exhausted as he seems to work day & night.

  • @only1smurf It is a 24 hour job , he gets paid overtime??

  • Your railway is fantastic, it's personal, rather than it has to be this or that.

Just a wonder great layout and thank you for showing it to us.

  • @ddazzab thank tou for your kind comment

  • I think you have a great layout and its personal, not it has to conform to this or that. Just a fantastic railway.

  • @ddazzab thanks again

  • I bow to you're beautiful layout.

  • @Maasdam1993 thank you very much , nice video`s of the ships.

  • hola que tal. Me podrias decir las medidas de la maqueta ??? muchas gracias y es excelente el trabajo que relizastes !!!

  • Just Wondering- Im trying to make a nice train set layout like yours- Were did u get all the little accesories like bridges, people, houses, trees etc... If you have the timeto answer i'd like to know- Thanks!

  • @HowlingPianoMaster You can get most of these from a model railway shop , if you do not have one near , try looking up on line ...Model Railway Stockists.

  • how much does it cost you yo build it ? it is awesome

  • @nasrannn Thanks, not sure of the cost , but it does add up to a fair bit I suppose

  • My 18 month old son love to watch it, good stuff and thanks

  • @btsolberg Glad he likes it , a future model railway man

  • LOL, al pf a sudden we head into sunlight (8.20)

  • @trainmad55 Glad you liked it

  • Great little video and a fantastic layout. Great effort mate. @ newdor... is it because you still live with you mum?

  • @BarbarossaSeelow thank you for your comment , perhaps you are right about @ newdor

  • PERHAPS @ NEWDOR YOU SHOULD PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS AND BUILD A MODEL RAILWAY AND WE CAN ALL CAST OUR CRITICAL EYES OVER YOUR HANDYWORK!! AGREEABLE?? I FOR ONE CANNOT WAIT TO SEE YOUR SUPREME EFFORTS !!

  • @MrJames27011 THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT mR JAMES, HE IS JUST ONE OF THOSE IDIOT`S THAT HAS NOTHING BETTER TO DO.

  • I really can't see what the point of this video is. It shows poor joinery around the table, emergency vehicle's with blue lights flashing in a model building, model trains boringly going around the layout with inappropriate music, a camera that does not give smooth progessive shots, etc, etc. Boring. Much, much better elsewhere.

  • @newdor Well I suggest you .... off and watch some others

  • @newdor how about you just fuck off and go somewhere

daves layout is much better than your mom is in bed when she made u.

So fuck off and never comment on his videos agains you turp

  • ok so i have an old train set from like 1st grade so like 9 yrs ago or something. i kno it doesnt rele work, i think its the power source can i just get a new one or how could i fix it?

  • Deltics were actually sometimes found on the odd overnight freightliner, very rare but never the less did pull freight

  • @niloc6336 Thank you for the info, so many have said to me they only where used on passenger trains

  • @621Kershaw Thanks , yes I know I did put coaches behind on some of the later video`s

  • stunning! cut the sound though, sounds too tinny, put a nice soundtrack on that will complement all your hard work.

  • @music1radio +I agree , but just latly when I put a music track on, youtube have taken it off due to this copywrite thingy.

  • @howarth004 not all songs are copyright, have a search on google and hopefully you'll find something you like that you can use :D

  • @music1radio Thanks , I did have to buy that Charli one cost me £5 just for I item

  • fantastic layout, deltic pulling wagons!

  • @RC4LIF3 Sorry about that, if you look at some of my others you will see I have it pulling coaches, Thanks for the compliment

    Dave

  • @howarth004 ha ok.

  • sh** that is one big layout

  • @12365paul not that big, must be the camera makes it look bigger

  • superb layout its fantastic, cant beleive you have a deltic on freight though lol, and i hope father christmas brings me one of them with sound as well, love the little touch of the workshed with the flashing welding tourch going and i think a garage as well , lovely in the dark and a nice touch of showing at the end what it started from, brilliant m8 well done, hope mines on par 3 years down the line, thanks for sharing

  • You have a very large layout.

    Very nice and great job.

How long and wide is your layout?

  • @WoelkerVideo Hi Gunter..the layout now is approx. 25ft. x 8ft. just been making it for the last 3years, started off at 10ft x 8ft. got sort of carried away. thanks for the comment.

  • @howarth004

WOW, this is very very large!

    Have you built everything yourself?

  • @WoelkerVideo Yes just got carried away, it is a great hobby though

  • cool they have sound

  • @amsomevids Thanks , thats the only way to-day ..SOUND.

  • Excellent Video!

  • @cactus190706 Thanks , it does show a different angle

  • i want a good layout like this.... CUSRE YOU WALLS!

    seriously though. that is beastly.

  • @dankerthanclanker Glad you like it

  • @howarth004 how big is it?

  • @dankerthanclanker It is about 26ft x8 ft

  • SPLENDID VIDEO!!! 5*****

  • @jordimikado Thank You very much

  • Enjoyed that. Damn good layout, sir. Okay we could all nit-pick but essentially it's terrific what's been created here. Good choice of buildings (grey granite station reminds me of Elgin) and the imaginative use of lighting and lighting effects - think I could spend a few hours just looking at what's going on and drinking it all in. From the family in the upstairs flat having a late-night argument (maybe) to the welder in the factory putting in a bit of overtime, it's just great. Top man!

  • @hildibildibaldi Thank you for your all too kind comment sir....is that Minted or Ted? I do like to try and put a bit odf detail in

  • @howarth004 Ha ha ha. That'll depend on which way that wind is blawin'. Aa the best!

  • 2:50 I have a blood & custard rake aswell. Very smart set of MK1s =)

  • @MrPetrolhead09 I think the blood and custard are the best looking.

  • extremely realistic David, the whistle is a nice touch

  • @pwalpar Cheers Walter , they all have the whistle now on my sound loco`s

  • stunning

  • @stevedowning123 Thanks Steve, not that good though

  • Very beautiful network! one word BRAVO!

  • @ligibi THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND COMMENT, ESPECIALLY FROM A RETIRED RAILWAY ENGINEER, LOVE YOUR GARDEN RAILWAY.

  • wow!! this is an amazing layout.

  • @Orochifinikusu Cheers, keeps us buisy

  • !!!VERY GOOD VIDEO!!!--xxD

  • @jordimikado I`ll swap you you move here i`ll live in Spain?

  • Yes its red hot outside

  • @penninefilms Even hotter in a loft

  • Well you did a good job of it

  • @penninefilms thanks still trying to improve , but a bit too warm in the loft these days

  • How long did it take you to make the layout

  • @penninefilms IT took me just 2 years from starting scratch to dec 09

  • does anyone know were i can buy a HO scale Flying scotsman

  • @JasonJ15XBL Thanks Jason laid off the railway for a while now that it`s summer, but will be updateing later in the year

  • @howarth004 Glad to know you will be extending this project further and updating it, mine is just beginning the mainline track went down last week, sidings and upper level and garden branch to do (it is based in garage)...

  • Fantastic layout .. im jealous well done i hope to have mine as good as that one day .. wow !!!

  • @mezzomanUK Thank you for your kind comment, yes it is 00 not too sure about quality of video though, would lkike to buy a decent camcorder some day.

  • just brilliant!

  • @SeanPhuket thanks for that Sean

  • love the deltic going to get one some day,

just went out and bought the herring gull will put it on tomorrow

  • Look forward to seeing your Herring Gull, Deltic souunds well I agree also

  • One thing I like in particular about your layout is that it's very 'busy' both on the track and beyond the railway fencing. A hive of apparent activity all over it. Could watch these videos all day.

    Another 5* from me.

  • Thanks again Rikki, I try to keep them busy, its no good looking at a still railway, working on an extension just now, hope to finish it in a couple of weeks time.

  • Wow sure is an impressive layout mate, a lot of nice work went into this, it must have been fun. Still doing mine 4 years now..............!

  • thanks for that Chris, but mine is all shop bought not scratch build, most of the buildings are metcalfe easy cut out, and that makes it too easy I suppose, started now doing some scratch build.

  • But, it does allow you to get an interesting layout built up in reasonable time.

  • You are right there, now its near compleated I can spend more time trying out scratchbuild.

  • only just found you , what a great layout with great range of stock. 6mnths into building one for first time hope to upload something soon.will ask questions later !!

  • Hello mate, great layout...is it built in the loft?

  • thanks, yes i floored it out and lined the roof (fell through cieling doing it) but all ok now

  • Hi, what sound decoders do you use?

  • LOKSOUND

  • I love how your railways is built around your room. Whenever anything goes awry on mine I have to crawl under the Traverser table.

  • this completley stunnin, quite envious!

Do you have a set period or do you run what you like?

    Tom

  • Really nice layout. :) Mines a small one in the corner of my room, cant get it to the brilliant standers you have got this to.

  • Thanks , but you can get just as much enjoyement from a small layout.

  • not when your sitting comfortable, and a train derails or cuts out at the far end! So you have get up and walk round to sort it out ! haha

  • I agree can be very flustrating

  • @howarth004 what do you use to create your roads?
