If all 60,000 subs (at the time) all listened to TAA and threw their burgers out the windows, multiply by the number of videos Onision had at then until now (about 220), multiply by .99 per burger, we would have wasted $13,068,000.00 by today
If we include onision's new channels and TAA's current Sub count, we have wasted a total of $119,774,100.60
I agree- eating meat is not the problem. The problem is the horrific maltreatment of the animals before they are turned into meat. The conditions some of these animals are in.... is just fucking appalling.
@DopingShit You might not have read my comment properly. I never claimed to listen to or support PETA. Horrific things happen to animals in the food industry (and the fur industry). Even in developed nations there's a lot of abuse. Many companies cover up the fact that they're not following whatever "laws" there may be against it.
And are there actually any "laws" against animal abuse in the meat industry? Specifics, please. Because I don't think there are.
I assumed since PETA Tends to be the main source :P
Well for example in Denmark around a half year ago or so a few farmers were caught by a TV show called Kontant ( I assume I don't remember since its a longtime ago) SOme crazy vegans threw all the animals out in the wild So that the animals would die BUT the farmers went in jail for animal abuse
@DopingShit Yeah, I find it to be pretty ridiculous when animal activists "rescue" captive animals by releasing them into the wild. They have no idea how to survive in the wild! Releasing them effectively murders them.
If the farmer was abusing the animals, he should have been charged. However, the people who released the animals are equally culpable, even if their intentions were good.
yet. People will always eat meat and that's not an issue. It's the issue of how ethical and eficiant we go about treating the animals before death. Releasing all the animals out in the wild isn't going to make a damn difference. If we don't eat them, another animal will. Animals like the taste of other animals. But we're intelligent enough to know how to control and that food source. Btw, in my last comment, "not" should be placed in between even and know.
stop the meat industry. Rather, any sensible vegetarian and some vegans will agree that the meat industry needs to be reformed, not banned. There are other factors besides the pain of the animal that needs to be addressed. That is the ability to even remember it, awareness and numbers. Cattle animals like cows and chickens are shown to even know what's going to happen to them or even care. But they should still not suffer. Death must be instant. Something the meat industry hasn't caught on to..
The term "meat eater" is stupid. I eat fruits, vegatables, meat, dairy, grain. All around of the food pyramid. I'm very healthy and in good shape.
What Criss said that it's not the acting of eating the meat or their death. It's their suffering. I do find animal cruelty horrific but that's no reason to stop eating meat all together. We are omnivores after all. Being a vegetarian has many health benefits and I think that alone is a good reason to go vegetarian. Not eating meat isn't going to...
People like Onision is the reason why people hate vegetarians. Meat eaters mainly fear that vegetarian will force others to change. One thing I hate most is how the industry treat animals.
Vegetarian or meat eaters can both be jerk it's all on how one act.
I don't know what you think of PETA but to me I don't like how they are rude by making meat eaters sound evil so I don't 100% support PETA but maybe 40 or 50%.
I eat meat and I like it ^^ But i dont like that animals are kept in captivity. they should have space to move and live and food to eat. like elks :p they live in their natural enviroment :)
I am not a vegetarian, but what you say makes great sense to me. I eat a little meat and quite a lot of fish and seafood and I hunt and fish. I absolutely hate to see other creatures suffering. More than half of my meals contain no animal parts whatsoever but almost always has some animal byproducts such as cheese, yogurt and eggs. Mostly, those provide enough nourishment to stay healthy without killing anything. Of course it also depends on how the milk cows and chickens are treated.
This is exactly why I subscribe to you ~ and neither of them! Sometimes the message gets lost when it's delivered en rant & it doesn't matter what's in my stomach ... If it's sh*t that's delivered, I simply can't partake.
Its pretty ridiculous him telling people to go out an buy any type of food, whether of the meat industry or not, and telling them just to throw it away. As if we don't waste enough food. There are plenty of starving people that don't have anything to eat some days that would have been happy to eat whatever it was that they would be throwing away just because that asshole told them to.
Okay, awesome video, and my girlfriend and I are a bit confused (this is a good thing):
We didn't think that a vegetarian could be hot, intelligent, and open minded all at once (admittedly we have a very limited pool of vegetarians to weigh things against, and they are primarily militaristic) But yeah, hopefully I got it across that that was purely a compliment. :)
"You know what Onision, you're not better than any other human being because you are a vegetarians." THANK YOU CHRISS. You know that's how Hitler was right? He was like Onision, he thought he was a devine being who was better than everyone and made people feel so small so he could pray on their weaknesses and convert them to whatever he was doing. He made a whole country raging nationalists. Your video probably didn't get suspended because Onision favors women and you happen to be one.
I am unsubscribing from the Amazing Atheist. I agree with some of the things he says, but I cannot support someone so blatantly stupid and ridiculous.
When you talk about animal suffering, is it on their behalf, or yours? Because if it is on their behalf, then eating meat is no longer a "personal choice", as it has serious consequences for animals. In this case it can certainly be deemed wrong, and condemned. Is there something improper about being disgusted with people who continue to do wrong, with full knowledge of this?
@PepperoniStu anorexia? nah she looks pretty healthy to me. and she is to all appearences quite intelligent. i would like to see you make an intelligent dissertation like this
@PepperoniStu and you must be a narrow minded hypocrite for slangin around terms like that. have you not got anything more intelligent to say than "mentally retarded" would i be right in assuming you are american? because it is people like you who give america such a bad name. grow some intelligence
@PepperoniStu see all you can do is throw inane comments around, do you have any idea how stupid you are making yourself look its so tragilarious. you and people like you is why the world has little or no respect for america. also are you christian? my money is on yes
@PepperoniStu myass, is there even a single brain cell in your head that allows you to say something that does not revolve around vulgarity and arbitrary insults that have no grounding what so ever?
@PepperoniStu yeah i know ya a troll but the thing is i find it funny and pathetic that you would continue making such an idiot of yourself. and ya not gonna make me bite i'm a very calm person and am content in the knowldge that i will never sink to such pathetic depths of mental deficiency as to troll
@PepperoniStu I think she's gorgeous, you probably prefer plump ladies with no brains or opinions. Beat your wife today much? You are a total buffoon.
Yeah. Allot of really really coool people had slaves and burned witches. I guess Onision is just ahead of his time. The people with the vice of meat eating who don't see it as a vice is who Oni was talking to. Just like Theists pushing their mush on to the next generation should have that shit shoved back in their face, so, should meat eaters who don't admit what their doing as the assholes they are.
there is a slight difference tho ..humans are biologically herbivore ..
the only thing that allows us to digest meat is cooking it ....digesting it raw is pretty hard and not healthy ...
but neither is eating it cooked ....heating only vegetables is ultimately healthier .... as for the murder part ... murder is when u kill another human .... same goes for cannibalism ..if a human dies from natural causes just eat him...
I hate animal suffering but PETA pisses me off. They have a habit of showing a video of a factory in mexico that failed the standards, then spin it and portray it as the industry norm.
@VincentPhil Only when you are aware of how the animals are raised and killed. If more people knew of where their meat came from then they probably wouldn't eat it. Many people do not know so they continue eating it because they are unaware.
I agree with you, but I also love Onision because what he says is to make people angry and to make them think. He's just more extrovertical and cares less about how people view him.
this is the person I never thought I'd see on youtube in my entire life, a vegetarian that knows that not eating meat is a personal choice.
As an omnivore, it doesn't bother me when people DON'T eat meat. What bothers me is when they BOTHER me.
What she said then is exactly what goes through my head all the time "A personal choice, and nobody has the right to impose their personal choices on anybody else"
speaking of that, there's this site called "vegancats" it's fucked up
Widershin: Sorry about that Criss I did.nt know you were a vegetarian just this week I was crowing about the meat buns I make every year for xmas thinking you might like my recipe well hoof and mouth affects more then just cows I,ll try to do better. Have a great Xmas and New Years holiday.
TheAmazingAtheist just lost a potential subscriber. Causing or provoking harm or wrong for proving a point is a religious fundamentalist method. You ashame me. You, sir, suck balls.
Criss on the other hand teaches you what it is about. You're Criss' bitch now.
I'm not adressing the other knucklehead because he ain't worth it. He's an blatantly obnoxious bucket of camel jizz and that's not what I want to spend time on. And well, both vids down anyway.
I hate both TAA and Zomgitscris.. something about promiscuous people really annoys the shit out of me... I also hate Onision.. so weighing Onision, Zomg and TAA... I believe I come to the conclusion that I agree with TAA just out of spite.
I shall take a potato ch... I mean burger and eat it for every time one of them pisses me off. I'm such a nice person that I don't care which one pisses me off. I just feel evil.. and since they are dictating morals to me the suffering shall be a spice.
I'm not a vegetarian, but I agree that I can't stand the thought of animals suffering. That's why I avoid factory-farmed animal meat and always check that I eat free ranged foods where I know the animal lived in a healthy, happy environment.
I also strongly disagree with animal testing in the cosmetic industry and any form of animal cruelty.
It's nice to know that whilst that are nutty vegetarians think who all meat eaters are bad, there are reasonable, intelligent, considerate people like you.
TJ just doesn't want to feel guilty for eating meat. Aren't we animals too? And if animals eat animals aren't we sending a message to animals that we think we are better than them? If I were a lion and I saw a human acting like eating meat was a sin, I would feel pretty bad about myself. In fact I would think that humans were rubbing in my face that they are better than me. I respect vegetarians, just not the ones whose sole purpose in life is to condemn meat eaters.
this is a good video. i thought TJs response was funny. it was overblown of him, but it was kinda like saying. "fuck you onision, if this is how youre gonna act, live with this!"
ok I love this girl but she is pretty wrong on this video. Plants do feel, they have proven it scientifically.
Plus it kind of looks bad if you are criticizing someone about them criticizing others. I'm just as pissed off as she is, I come across very critical like her and I know it's no good.
(and I do wish that the slaughterhouse system was easier on animals. It's bad enough that something has to die to continue the life of something else, do we really have to abuse them and drag it out? =( )
Also, I hate meat-eaters who act like that guy. Fucking douchebags
So I see it as murder to kill a plant, just as much as it is to kill an animal. No matter whether I eat meat or not, I am murdering something. I am ripping its life away. The only way to avoid that is to starve myself to death. So, since it is impossible to avoid murder, I do eat meat, because it is unhealthy not to.
However, mad love for you, and I completely respect your right to be a vegetarian. Keep standing by your beliefs =)
*Im killing something anyway so why not kill an animal*
Yes well here is what you're looking at, The animals you kill feel pain, they were probably sad every day up to the day their throats where slit and they were injected with chemicals to make them grow at an insane rate
And there you go, No mental gymnastics, no Bullshit just the plain story
* They are aware. They recognize tones of voice, different kinds of music, and they acknowledge it in their growth.
* They have sex. There are heterosexual plants, bisexual plants, and asexual plants. I also have a theory that there are homosexual plants, because sometimes when you put two perfectly healthy plants of both genders together, they don't reproduce. I consider sexual orientation to be part of what makes something a living being.
Stupid comment limit is making me divide this up u_u
Part 1
I wanna say my point of view on the vegetarian thing.
I firmly believe that plants count as living beings just as much as animals (I do include humans in that, btw). Why?
* They actually do respond to being cut and wounded. They may not scream in pain, but they will get sick and damaged. Obviously this is only if you're doing it wrong, but do you scream in pain if you trim your nails correctly?
Yes, slaughtering animals for food is kinda barbaric, but meat is simply too tasty to resist. Fortunately, science & technology will provide a solution in the form of in vitro meat (look it up on google). So instead of turning vegetarianism into some kind of crazy ascetic religion, vegetarians should actively support in vitro meat research. That way we can eat our cows and have them, too. Or something. Shit, we could even grow & consume *human* meat. You could even eat *yourself*.
I disagree w/ all three principals in this video. TJ and Onision: r to militant. Criss should have argued from a green perspective...murder of animals isn't a good argument.
so basicly from your point in logic killing living things is OK as long as tehy don't feel anything? so if he gave them drugs to not feel anything would make killing animals fine?
OMG TJ keeps making anti-vegetarian videos just ATTACKING vegetarianism and it's pissing me off. I guess that's what he wants but damn doesn't he care that a lot of his viewers live this way of life. I guess I know how Christians feel when they watch his videos. And if I leave a comment on one of them like..."that's a little harsh TJ" I get like 20 messages from him 14 year old fan boys calling me a moronic vegan commie. It's so irritating!
and you know plants donothave fear or feelings how? does having a brain, an organisim like plants, make you more important? think as far as alien. bugs are not even native to this planet. bugs have no brains but they can cmmunicate, build, organize. just like the old romans, ants are a lot like humans.Thou I like your argument, it needs just a bit more detal to how being a vegetarian nulls you of the purgatory of having to kill to live
I think you misheard Zomgits: It is not the death of the animal that she finds to be terrible, but the life of the animals in the meat industry. It treats animals capable of understanding their situation and experiencing it on distressing levels in a horrid manner. THAT is what she abhors, not the death of the animal itself, providing it is virtually painless since we have such developed technology.
no i heard right. free range is much better than caged. I 'm just adding 2 cents from all this bull crap. thanks for your input btw. always apreciated to hear ppl sides
Don't believe everything you read. The labels of "compassionate" murder are very much misleading. Do your research.
Free-range is not "much better" than caged. Better yes. But that is like saying that people eaten alive by ants is better than slowly being drowned to death. It still isn't right. It is still murder not out of necessity for you to live, but out of your greed.
Assuming that a free range farm let an animal roam around and eat or do whatever(I know you'll say that doesnt happen but im sure it does at at least a few free range farms) it wants and then slaughtered it in the conventional bolt gun and bleed out method after going through a Temple Grandin type of holding pen...how is that anything like being eaten alive by ants? Give me a break.
If simply killing meat to eat is murder then we are on a planet with like a gazillion murderers
Haha. Convenient? No, death is a concept that if you can't handle, then this world probably isn't the greatest for you. Life on this earth is dependant on death. To want to avoid the concept and yet remain a part of this system is counter-intuitive. As for preventing pain and suffering, that is merely human compassion and something achievable and can coexist with nature.
Because, even plants that exhibit Thigmomorphogenesis don't have complex enough chemical reactions or neurons to manifest feelings. And besides, when's the last time someone ate a venus fly trap anyway?
In any situation, it's the extremists that make the rest looks bad. We see it in smokers, meat eaters, vegetarians, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Athiests. It's always the loud, obnoxious, extremists that get the attention while the ones that just want to sit back, do their thing and let others do their own thing go unseen and unheard and are made to look bad by association with the extremists. It's sad really.
By the way. I am a smoker, an Athiest and a meat eater.
Great video. I'm a vegan. I agree with you 100% that it's not the fact that people eat meat (and dairy) that really bothers me, it's the fact that no one cares where it came from or the suffering the animal had to go through. So many people stay ignorant so they can enjoy stuffing their faces.
THANK YOU so much for your rational and eloquent take on this issue.
I'm an on again/off again vegetarian. You and I seem to feel the same-- Animal abuse sucks. The meat industry should be ashamed of itself and it's greed.
I hate even more the fact that I can't seem to stay healthy while maintaining my vege'ism. Health issues not related, btw. Sucks. But I do what I can and fix vege meals more often than not and teach my kids about all the great alternatives to meat.
Way to go! sorry to hear about life problems posed upon you. Don't let that get you down! Keep doing what you think is best for yourself and your kids. Best wishes, a random.
I'm an omnivore, but animal abuse and cruelty drives me insane and makes me sick. But then,I'd be called a hypocrite. (I have vegetarian friends, and they don't have a spaz attack on me when I eat a chicken sandwich)
I enjoy videos by TJ and Onision, but I'm not going to waste my money on something to piss Onision off. And Onision makes vegetarian sound like assholes. But I'm use to him calling me (an omnivore) a murderer.
*Claps* Thank you! It's good to see someone with a logical sense of mind. I agree that animals shouldn't suffer, I support organic meat. The meat industry definitely needs to have far better standards, just because the animals are being sacrificed for food doesn't mean we have to needlessly torture them.
No, it's cruel to hurt animals regardless of whether you'd eat them or not. But there's a difference between, say, free-range chickens and factory-kept chickens. My friends run a farm, and their chickens are happy as hell. Yes, they get killed for food, but they live well. They are not treated cruelly while they're alive in any way, and aside from a few seconds at the end of their lives, they are treated very well.
I'm a meat eater, but I still agree with what she's saying here. Animals should be treated with a modicum of kindness and, y'know, respect because they're alive, WHILE they're alive, and not tortured for the entirety of their lives.
Oh yea, I agree with you. Animals shouldn't be tortured before slaughtered. However, I see it more as, we shouldn't be creating people that are OK with torturing animals. I think if the factory environment were to be cleaned up, animal slaughtering would not only be less, but would not cause stress to workers and cause them to do such "heinous" acts. In essence, I guess what I'm trying to say is that we should stop "cruel" animal slaughtering for the good of ourselves.
that mindset is something that bothers me about the human population, dominant species you say? after all this time people have been fighting for the rights of women, black people, asians, other races, gay people, etc, you still find a way to discriminate against something that didn't have a choice, animals don't choose to be born animals, and they certainly don't want to die, they suffer and feel pain when you enslave and torture them just so you can eat them, you sir are a cruel person.
Sorry buddy, but when we humans can decide the fate of this world, we are considered the dominant species. You can fabricate this fact saying animal equality, but truth is we control everything! So lets say we do give animals freedom or a leisurely life. The fact that we can do that, says we're the dominant species. Whether we're being a good one or not is arguable. Lastly, you can't compare conflicts between our own species and with other animals. You sir are a shallow-minded person.
I didn't say we weren't the dominant species, I agree that's what gives us the option of not eating them. I only act in accordance with my own personal opinion of right and wrong, which is different for everybody, so I may be a shallow-minded person, but I wouldn't doubt that everyone else on this planet is also shallow-minded whether they admit it or not, I only consider you cruel because of how I feel about other life forms on this planet, I think it's cruel when they are taken advantage of.
Also, keep in mind that when people own slaves, aren't the owners in that same "dominant" position you are referring to? Can you not see where I'm coming from with this comparison? To me it's wrong, that's how I feel about it. You may not agree, but that's you, so I'm only responding to make it clear, that's all, you don't have to agree with me.
Hm, yes I agree, perhaps you didn't say that humans aren't dominant. However, if you can see my prior posts, I too believe animal cruelty should be stopped; it's not a good practice/job (morally) for humans to have. Animal slaughtering should continue. It's our only source of meats. You can't compare humans and animals is for this reason: Humans have consciousness and all races are brethren. Cows and Pigs- Don't really serve a purpose other than eating. Even most religions tell us that.
I'm an atheist, what purpose exactly are you referring to? I don't see a difference in a humans purpose or an animals purpose other than us being good at doing different things as a result of evolution. Also eating meat is not needed to be healthy, it's not the meat we need, its the nutrients, complete protein is easy to get on a vegan diet, and I often get more than my body needs on a daily basis.
1) Humans have the thought of values. While we not only survive on these lands, but expand in knowledge and technology, animals graze.
2) See, there's a thing called the food chain in nature, and we're at the top. Meat animals are like krill for whales. just good for a meal. We've eaten meat for so long, we've grown taste buds for it!
3) Your concept of meat only used for healthy nutrients goes for veges as well. Basically, a healthy diet consists of different foods for different situations.
Did I say that healthy nutrients didn't come from veggies? All I was saying was that the same nutrients from meat are abundant in other sources, which means meat is not needed for survival. Also, I could care less about the "food chain", am I supposed to follow that just because everyone else is doing it? If I needed to I would, but since I don't, I am able to exercise my compassion towards animals, that is valuable to me, everyone's values aren't the same, I don't care how long we've eaten meat
A healthy diet consists of a balance of the nutrients our body needs, and if the same nutrients in meat can be found elsewhere, then it's "optional" to eat it. So you only eat it because you want to, not because you need to.
1) No, you didn't say healthy nutrients didn't come from veggies. I was merely applying your "you don't need meat, you only need the nutrients from it" principle to it. You don't need vegetables. You only need the nutrients from it.
2) The food chain perhaps isn't fit for you, but I am only stating a major point why it's normal to eat meat.
3) If the same nutrient can be found in both vegetable and meat, then both options are "optional". And those nutrients are something I need.
I never said it wasn't normal to eat meat. You are completely missing the point. I'm not arguing about what's normal or not. Of course both veggies and meat are optional, my point was because both of those are optional to us, we can pick one or the other, or both. So I'm only telling you "my" point of view, I chose to be a vegan because out of those two options, I find this to be the kinder choice, and I still get all the nutrients I need, whether or not I eat meat, what exactly are you arguing?
So my point is, that if you choose to eat meat, it is only because you want to, not because you have to. I happen to find it cruel to end an animals life short 'when you don't have to'. That's all I'm trying to say, if we HAD to kill them survive, I wouldn't even be arguing with you.
1) Animals are not below us just because we have declared ourselves the dominant race. For example, an unintelligent person is not below an intelligent person.
2) The food chain is just a concept, not a guideline that we have to obey. Evolving around eating meat does not necessarily mean a non-vegan diet is better for you than a vegan one. There are many health benefits to a veggie lifestyle
3) Like I said, veggie food has been proven to reduce obesity, heart disease, etc.
Animals have good life as human resource. You know how much average cow would survive in nature before it would be eaten?? if humans are taking care of it its just blissfully running around if they are in nature they have problems (like you know the graphs of what happens after population tops the niche and some starve then more are born and starve again) SO yea animals much better off in slaughter houses.
(or not running around but standing in one place w/e) in nature it would probably be diseased and have tons of parasites live its whole life in pain ... if humans didnt eat cows cows would go extinct.
anyways animals get much worse treatment in nature. We cannot stop lions from torturing and scaring the gazelles or do you want to do that? little lions need to learn how to kill so the adult lion catches the pray then holds it down as the little baby cuts it for hours... Thats kinda like beating your dog but not just kicking it its like torturing it. So w/e
I find no problem with eating meat. My problem is, the way the animals are treated before they are chopped up and whatnot. I think animals have rights. I have spoken
I've started watching your videos recently and have found the one youtuber I seem to agree with on EVERY single subject. Also, you might want to know that a new study has confirmed that lobsters DO feel pain.
Onision is creepy but TJ is also an idiot for saying that the suffering of animals brings out the taste. I think he is a typical stupid american tub of lard, period.
I love you criss... You've reminded me of why I respected Vegetarians in the first place...

When you talk about animal suffering, is it on their behalf, or yours? Because if it is on their behalf, then eating meat is no longer a "personal choice", as it has serious consequences for animals. In this case it can certainly be deemed wrong, and condemned. Is there something improper about being disgusted with people who continue to do wrong, with full knowledge of this?

dude .....if a lion kills a deer is it murder ???
no its not ...
there is a slight difference tho ..humans are biologically herbivore ..
the only thing that allows us to digest meat is cooking it ....digesting it raw is pretty hard and not healthy ...
but neither is eating it cooked ....heating only vegetables is ultimately healthier .... as for the murder part ... murder is when u kill another human .... same goes for cannibalism ..if a human dies from natural causes just eat him...
sidewaysfcs0718 2 years ago

TJ just doesn't want to feel guilty for eating meat. Aren't we animals too? And if animals eat animals aren't we sending a message to animals that we think we are better than them? If I were a lion and I saw a human acting like eating meat was a sin, I would feel pretty bad about myself. In fact I would think that humans were rubbing in my face that they are better than me. I respect vegetarians, just not the ones whose sole purpose in life is to condemn meat eaters.

Part 3
So I see it as murder to kill a plant, just as much as it is to kill an animal. No matter whether I eat meat or not, I am murdering something. I am ripping its life away. The only way to avoid that is to starve myself to death. So, since it is impossible to avoid murder, I do eat meat, because it is unhealthy not to.
However, mad love for you, and I completely respect your right to be a vegetarian. Keep standing by your beliefs =)
KallistiGirl 2 years ago
Its unhealthy not to?
Check your facts
P.S. I like the way you dont look at it directly
I love the way you do your mental gymnastics
*Im killing something anyway so why not kill an animal*
Yes well here is what you're looking at, The animals you kill feel pain, they were probably sad every day up to the day their throats where slit and they were injected with chemicals to make them grow at an insane rate
And there you go, No mental gymnastics, no Bullshit just the plain story
irishjoesbar 2 years ago
Part 2
* They are aware. They recognize tones of voice, different kinds of music, and they acknowledge it in their growth.
* They have sex. There are heterosexual plants, bisexual plants, and asexual plants. I also have a theory that there are homosexual plants, because sometimes when you put two perfectly healthy plants of both genders together, they don't reproduce. I consider sexual orientation to be part of what makes something a living being.
* Some plants have been shown to communicate.
KallistiGirl 2 years ago
Stupid comment limit is making me divide this up u_u
Part 1
I wanna say my point of view on the vegetarian thing.
I firmly believe that plants count as living beings just as much as animals (I do include humans in that, btw). Why?
* They actually do respond to being cut and wounded. They may not scream in pain, but they will get sick and damaged. Obviously this is only if you're doing it wrong, but do you scream in pain if you trim your nails correctly?
KallistiGirl 2 years ago
Yes, slaughtering animals for food is kinda barbaric, but meat is simply too tasty to resist. Fortunately, science & technology will provide a solution in the form of in vitro meat (look it up on google). So instead of turning vegetarianism into some kind of crazy ascetic religion, vegetarians should actively support in vitro meat research. That way we can eat our cows and have them, too. Or something. Shit, we could even grow & consume *human* meat. You could even eat *yourself*.

RobeonMew 2 years ago
I think you misheard Zomgits: It is not the death of the animal that she finds to be terrible, but the life of the animals in the meat industry. It treats animals capable of understanding their situation and experiencing it on distressing levels in a horrid manner. THAT is what she abhors, not the death of the animal itself, providing it is virtually painless since we have such developed technology.

RobeonMew 2 years ago
Don't believe everything you read. The labels of "compassionate" murder are very much misleading. Do your research.
Free-range is not "much better" than caged. Better yes. But that is like saying that people eaten alive by ants is better than slowly being drowned to death. It still isn't right. It is still murder not out of necessity for you to live, but out of your greed.
Casadh 2 years ago
Assuming that a free range farm let an animal roam around and eat or do whatever(I know you'll say that doesnt happen but im sure it does at at least a few free range farms) it wants and then slaughtered it in the conventional bolt gun and bleed out method after going through a Temple Grandin type of holding pen...how is that anything like being eaten alive by ants? As for preventing pain and suffering, that is merely human compassion and something achievable and can coexist with nature.

what would a cow's dream look like :-?
wedingo 2 years ago
No, it's cruel to hurt animals regardless of whether you'd eat them or not. But there's a difference between, say, free-range chickens and factory-kept chickens. My friends run a farm, and their chickens are happy as hell. Yes, they get killed for food, but they live well. They are not treated cruelly while they're alive in any way, and aside from a few seconds at the end of their lives, they are treated very well.

Sorry, but humans are made to eat meat. We are the dominant species after all!
Chrismonchan 2 years ago
I'm a meat eater, but I still agree with what she's saying here. Animals should be treated with a modicum of kindness and, y'know, respect because they're alive, WHILE they're alive, and not tortured for the entirety of their lives.
AislinCade 2 years ago
Oh yea, I agree with you. Animals shouldn't be tortured before slaughtered. However, I see it more as, we shouldn't be creating people that are OK with torturing animals. I think if the factory environment were to be cleaned up, animal slaughtering would not only be less, but would not cause stress to workers and cause them to do such "heinous" acts. In essence, I guess what I'm trying to say is that we should stop "cruel" animal slaughtering for the good of ourselves.
Chrismonchan 2 years ago
that mindset is something that bothers me about the human population, dominant species you say? after all this time people have been fighting for the rights of women, black people, asians, other races, gay people, etc, you still find a way to discriminate against something that didn't have a choice, animals don't choose to be born animals, and they certainly don't want to die, they suffer and feel pain when you enslave and torture them just so you can eat them, you sir are a cruel person.
Kojitsu 2 years ago
Sorry buddy, but when we humans can decide the fate of this world, we are considered the dominant species. You can fabricate this fact saying animal equality, but truth is we control everything! So lets say we do give animals freedom or a leisurely life. The fact that we can do that, says we're the dominant species. Whether we're being a good one or not is arguable. Lastly, you can't compare conflicts between our own species and with other animals. You sir are a shallow-minded person.
Chrismonchan 2 years ago

Kojitsu 2 years ago
Hm, yes I agree, perhaps you didn't say that humans aren't dominant. However, if you can see my prior posts, I too believe animal cruelty should be stopped; it's not a good practice/job (morally) for humans to have. Animal slaughtering should continue. It's our only source of meats. You can't compare humans and animals is for this reason: Humans have consciousness and all races are brethren. Cows and Pigs- Don't really serve a purpose other than eating. Even most religions tell us that.
Chrismonchan 2 years ago

Chrismonchan 2 years ago
Did I say that healthy nutrients didn't come from veggies? All I was saying was that the same nutrients from meat are abundant in other sources, which means meat is not needed for survival. Also, I could care less about the "food chain", am I supposed to follow that just because everyone else is doing it? If I needed to I would, but since I don't, I am able to exercise my compassion towards animals, that is valuable to me, everyone's values aren't the same, I don't care how long we've eaten meat
Kojitsu 2 years ago
A healthy diet consists of a balance of the nutrients our body needs, and if the same nutrients in meat can be found elsewhere, then it's "optional" to eat it. So you only eat it because you want to, not because you need to.
Kojitsu 2 years ago
1) No, you didn't say healthy nutrients didn't come from veggies. I was merely applying your "you don't need meat, you only need the nutrients from it" principle to it. You don't need vegetables. You only need the nutrients from it.
2) The food chain perhaps isn't fit for you, but I am only stating a major point why it's normal to eat meat.
3) If the same nutrient can be found in both vegetable and meat, then both options are "optional". And those nutrients are something I need.
Chrismonchan 2 years ago
I never said it wasn't normal to eat meat. You are completely missing the point. I'm not arguing about what's normal or not. Of course both veggies and meat are optional, my point was because both of those are optional to us, we can pick one or the other, or both. So I'm only telling you "my" point of view, I chose to be a vegan because out of those two options, I find this to be the kinder choice, and I still get all the nutrients I need, whether or not I eat meat, what exactly are you arguing?
Kojitsu 2 years ago
So my point is, that if you choose to eat meat, it is only because you want to, not because you have to. I happen to find it cruel to end an animals life short 'when you don't have to'. That's all I'm trying to say, if we HAD to kill them survive, I wouldn't even be arguing with you.
Kojitsu 2 years ago
1) Animals are not below us just because we have declared ourselves the dominant race. For example, an unintelligent person is not below an intelligent person.
2) The food chain is just a concept, not a guideline that we have to obey. Evolving around eating meat does not necessarily mean a non-vegan diet is better for you than a vegan one. There are many health benefits to a veggie lifestyle
3) Like I said, veggie food has been proven to reduce obesity, heart disease, etc.

Animals have good life as human resource. You know how much average cow would survive in nature before it would be eaten?? if humans are taking care of it its just blissfully running around if they are in nature they have problems (like you know the graphs of what happens after population tops the niche and some starve then more are born and starve again) SO yea animals much better off in slaughter houses.
princeofexcess 2 years ago
(or not running around but standing in one place w/e) in nature it would probably be diseased and have tons of parasites live its whole life in pain ... if humans didnt eat cows cows would go extinct.
princeofexcess 2 years ago
not just as a human being would they have different brains ergo different emotions. Animal pain is different then human pain.
princeofexcess 2 years ago
anyways animals get much worse treatment in nature. We cannot stop lions from torturing and scaring the gazelles or do you want to do that? little lions need to learn how to kill so the adult lion catches the pray then holds it down as the little baby cuts it for hours... Thats kinda like beating your dog but not just kicking it its like torturing it. So w/e
princeofexcess 2 years ago
I find no problem with eating meat. My problem is, the way the animals are treated before they are chopped up and whatnot. I think animals have rights. I have spoken
FIN.

Uh, first video I disagree with you, Criss.
I really enjoy your videos but I also enjoy onision's videos.
There seems to be this problem that people really don't realise when others are satirical or just make fun, even of themselves.
People should not feel personally attacked every time when they get provoced...

You can buy free ranged beef and so on... If you live in the states. lol
And what vegetarians lose from sight is the entire eco-systems destroyed to plant things. Neither side has a moral argument in this.
