unfortuntaley I didn't play this series when it came out, but I just finsihed watching everything on youtube. The wolrd,story and the characters are just incredible... mysterious, dark, twisting, always keeping something unrevealed and never limiting itself to the simple context of good/evil. Would love to see a good sequel revealing more about the main antagonist and the wheel of fate

BLOOD OMEN 2 takes place in an alternate time-line however so the events do not match. You really have to play Soul reaver 1 + 2, to get the full view. IMO, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 was by far the best. This one left with a cliff hanger ending. What's sad is that the man who voiced "ELDER GOD" (giant squid) died.whole series excellent voice

There is still room for another game because they clearly left Janos Aldren (vampire god with feather wings basically and the oldest of the old) possessed by the Hlyden (demon race from another dimension who want vamps gone) And Kain wondering what to do with the True reaver blade that now contains Raziel.
Best part about this is, its not a simple, "i was to rule" "i want revenge"
Its about being more human than u think, defying fate, hope, and so much more, the story in Legacy of kain, with Kain and Raziel, its so indepth and really more human than monster.
The games messages are more that Monsters vs Humans , Humans are Humans and we are out own monsters.

soul reaver 1 was my first game on pc, that i played in my life so i played all games of legacy of kain series and i have to say that these games were the best games

If a real movie was to be made then stick with Simon Templeman. He's the voice actor for Kain and is who Kain's appearance was modelled after - so he is the real-life visual and vocal equivalent of Kain. He's also Dr Doom from Fantastic 4 cartoon, and Lord Nor from New Adventures of Superman. He's also pleayed The Angel of Death in Charmed. Great actor all round!

I think Crystal Dynamics might go back to do Legacy of Kain at some point in the future. They can't just work on Tomb Raider forever. I mean, look at all the easter eggs in their Tomb Raider games. A painting of Kain as a human in Croft Manor, Raziel and Kain insignas on some of Lara's outfits, the Soul Reaver as an unlockable cheat for Lara, and now most recently, Kain and Raziel are downloadable characters in Guardian of Light. This proves that Crystal still love this series...

Crystal Dynamics. how do they do it? why not all software developers do the same? how can they make such marvelously awesome 3D graphics, such sophisticated animations and in-game realistic lip movement, WHILE still keeping the game's system requirements to a minimum? any and all pc-s i played any Crystal Dynamics developed game on had no problem at all, running on max graphics settings. i don't really expect answers here. i just felt like promoting that which deserves to be.
Legacy of Kain is by far the greatest story ever told in a video game. It's so poetic, so deep so unbelievably riveting. It's a shame they're not making another one. But i'm still hoping that some company would buy the rights and actually do something with it. BUT SIMON BETTER BE BACK! lol

And to be honest, little 'kiddies' wouldn't understand half of the dialogue as it is quite sophisticated.

I felt the same way, however, the more I think about it it is a perfect ending. we know what is going to happen. Kain is purified and can now restore the pillars and take his place in the destiny he seeks. A new Kain game would probably be more obvious and not as secret and plot twisting because as he says: the strings of the puppets are visible, and the hands of the prime mover exposed :D there is now HOPE. so we can assume that Kain has his way ;)

Crystal Dynamics. how do they do it? why not all software developers do the same? how can they make such marvelously awesome 3D graphics, such sophisticated animations and in-game realistic lip movement, WHILE still keeping the game's system requirements to a minimum? any and all pc-s i played any Crystal Dynamics developed game on had no problem at all, running on max graphics settings. i don't really expect answers here. i just felt like promoting that which deserves to be.

Legacy of Kain is by far the greatest story ever told in a video game. It's so poetic, so deep so unbelievably riveting. It's a shame they're not making another one. But i'm still hoping that some company would buy the rights and actually do something with it. BUT SIMON BETTER BE BACK! lol

I bought this game around 1999, its always been played by my friends and family.
Its Atmosphere, and feeling is just perfect and have loved playing 1 & 2.
So glad to see there is this available in film format.
But is it going to be a title, that will be spoiled by overproducing 4 ,5,6,7 and onwards...
I think not, as it will be a classic game title for all time...

@louiedovey though I wont say "douchmuffin" lol I will gently disagree. The Legacy of Kain series is a very well thought out storyline which spans five excellent games on two generations of consoles. And to be honest, little 'kiddies' wouldn't understand half of the dialogue as it is quite sophisticated.

I Love this game XD Its the best game ever! ^^ But anyway i was wonering about one thing at 2:25 when Kain are sneeking into the Sarafan bretherens nest there are two humans walking over a bridge and this is supose to be long back in time so i thought maby the Sarafan warrior walking at the side Kain is at whos saing But we have svept that eria already may be Raziel when he was a human becous if you lisening carfully you will hear that the voice is about the same as Raziels so it might be him ^^

It always puts a smile on my face when I see Kain force grabbing him by the throat and says ''Yes, let us continue our conversation'' like a common, every day thing.

The series is finished by all appearances. The vampires had their revenge on the Elder God by making Kain, one of their own kind, in replacement.

I felt the same way, however, the more I think about it it is a perfect ending. we know what is going to happen. Kain is purified and can now restore the pillars and take his place in the destiny he seeks. A new Kain game would probably be more obvious and not as secret and plot twisting because as he says: the strings of the puppets are visible, and the hands of the prime mover exposed :D there is now HOPE. so we can assume that Kain has his way ;)
