Lol I was trying to say I Luv Prom but instead it showed you know because I got the redstone mixed up and the r disappeared and the m on prom looked like it was an R but it was a funny coincidence lol.
its possible to play minecraft in minecraft but its gonna be restricted to probably only moving around and it will be in 2d as far as i kno but its gonna take a fuckload of redstone and a genius with all the time in the world
Basically for only 1 gig of storage space you need a space bigger than the size of our galaxy times two no lie. Today i did the math and I about shit myself.
Hey everyone, please checkout my channel, im just now creating a minecraft series, im trying to do better, ive got better equiment now, so im hoping i can get more veiws, and some help!
Anything would be nice, your input, comment, rate or subscribe!
I just got a crazy idea how to make this way simpler: you make a grid of stone plates, each plate activates a letter or number and you add an extra one for reset. Each letter is represented in 3x5 bits.
I just wanna point out that Wiremod in Garrys mod can run Super mario in game.
So with that said, minecraft is spending WAY too much time with the world updates and way less time with redstone. It should be running redstone logic on a separate server or something so that it would be blazing fast.
@ikkyino No, Garrys mod was developed by Garry Newman (A single person) but The Source engine it is running on is a different matter.
That however is besides the point because i am talking about what could be done if the game wasn't so hellbent on dealing with all the overload of the rest of the world.
Imagine a dedicated server JUST for the redstone logic... Then we could have super mario in MineCraft as well.
@RealCadde tiny correction , "Garry's Mod WAS..." (its suppose to be "is" , cause it still is developed and fixed from bugs and all of those things , only by Garry Newman...)
@AlonTavor lol, a computer within a game, within a computer.
Now, normal PCs that are 4yrs old NOW could struggle- bought from shop
so now imagine what you would need to build in minecraft to make minecraft work by itself.
it'd probably take up about 1/4 of Minecraft world or some other huge number of blocks, mind you Planet Minecraft is about 1.8 times bigger than earth.
@sernikpl2010: Unfortunately you can't (at least not on current version). There is a distance limit on how far away from the player redstone circuits will keep working (like 300 blocks or something?) Because of the CPU power it would take to keep simulating the whole world, minecraft only updates the chunks within a certain distance.... it's a big enough area for most things, though :(
Is that a serious question? Consider this: 200kilobits of memory is over 200,000 bits or torches.
Is it possible to make a redstone system move or "eject" something with a button? Yes, but that requires no calculations or no 'computer'. Its just a button that mechanically makes something move, like a CD drive. A CD drive doesn't really compute anything to eject.
Can he make it READ a cd? Well, he obviously has a basic input system somewhere to make it display the word/pattern of his choice.
Moving an object mechanically is simple and has nothing to do with calculations, a computer, or anything. Your question is not really related and does not really make sense. Could he make an operating system that reads a program and does something? Not realistically.
I do not understand which part of my message you are replying to. As Thelnnocence has also recently stated, a "CD drive" is not really a relevant component to a processor that manipulates bits with no operating system. A CD is a form of storage. In a literal sense, no, you cannot create round objects in minecraft that can store data, so the question of a CD drive does not make sense.
Eject/close is a mechanical operation and has NOTHING to do with bit calculations, really.
@AlonTavor In Theory you could if the Redstone torches or redstone lights were made available in multiple colours, you could run minecraft on minecraft in 256 colours. It would quite literally be a game within a game, but it would take miles upon miles of chunks to operate though, a single ALU takes about 3 chunks + to make.
@AlonTavor Probably. Find a mod that can change the wool color with redstone, then create a 800x600 (or more) display with wool, then depending on the button pressed change the pixels on the screen. Super easy.
