  • man got to love 3rd

  • i love my 93 SHO but it is sooo freaking UGLY on the outside... i need a nicer looking car lolz

  • because race car?

  • that is one fast grocery getter

  • how come noone knows how to race anymore they let off haha. not dissing the sho cuz i know they are fast haha

  • you are Yamaha i make the windshield for the golf carts you like to ride in .

  • the ford sho has good power but looks like shit

  • @fabjonjon, dont forget keyboard

  • awesome

  • I made your guitar, your dirtbike, , your scooter, your outboard 4 stroke 250, and this engine. Who am I?

  • @fabjonjon yamaha what do i win?

  • @mrbmxwannabe FREE CYBER HIGH FIVE.

  • @fabjonjon yay thats what ive always wanted

  • you vette lovers haveno idea how fast these are stock let alone turboed includin being a 18 yrold in this video

  • why at the begining its said corvette 450hp then at 2 mins it says 392hp??

  • @gooderman13 - the 392hp is what the Vette made to the wheels on a dyno. Figuring in the drivetrain loss inherent in all vehicles, it is making almost exactly the 450 advertised crank hp.

  • get someone that knows how to really drive that vette and it'll smoke you 5 lengths ahead lmao

  • @rockstardrinker95 - His shifts are quick and clean. Wheelspin was not an issue. Considering the Taurus was trapping 115+mph, there is no driver in the world that could manage to put 5 lengths on it while driving this particular corvette.

  • I dig the SHO Taurus. My friend borrowed one from his cousin when we just got our licenses. He toasted the clutch and we were stranded 20 miles from home in brutally cold February weather. I miss those days. Great cars in the video!

  • that vette won?

  • @TJDeadkid he lefts off and the vette doesnt, more a tie than a win / lose.

  • I don't know what your turbo SHO runs in the 1/4 mile but... I'd love to race you from a roll in my modded C6 just for fun. No money or anything like that. I live on Long Island though so that would be tough. I ran 11.84 @ 123.51 the last time I was at the track. My mods are listed in my channel. I need to buy a video camera so I can make some videos of my car. I'm always watching vids...Now I need to start making them. Anyway, nice SHO and great video man. That thing's a beast!! Later

  • @IrishChris1979 - Thanks Chris. Yeah, I do not plan on coming out to LI anytime soon, nor do my cars see any street time anymore. I do plan on taking my latest turbo SHO to the track this fall, so we can compare. I have no doubt my trap speeds will be well in to the 120's, but I doubt I will run much quicker than high 11's.

  • I used to have an SVT Contour back in the day. A friend of mine had an SHO...Both of our cars were 5 speed manuals. We used to have a blast going on cruises, racing around, going to the track ect ect... Stock for stock the SHO was slightly quicker than my SVT. It was really close though. Whoever got the jump, usually won in the 1/4 mile. For what they are, both cars are really quick and extremely fun to drive. My SVT was a '98.5 and his SHO was a '93 by the way. I miss those days.

  • @IrishChris1979 When I was in PA, I came across a guy in a very well preserved SVT Contour. I was in my 96' Mark VIII and beat him pretty bad. Minor mods were just removing intake horn, opening stock air box up with saw and Dremel. Forgot all about that until I read your post. Had a 92' SHO already when I bought the Mark. Just babbling LOL. I wish Ford would of put turbo's in the Contour and Taurus like they did with Probe GT. Oh well, it took 20 years but now we have Eco Boost turbos :)

  • I remeber the first time I drove an 89 SHO, what a car... It makes me sad to think about the 95 I passed up back in 1998... Oh well... At least you guys are still having fun with them!

  • I clicked your ads man...get paid! Also great SHO vid. all day!

  • where do u get your SHO performance part?s please inbox me

  • how did a 430whp sho beat a vette with an ls6? that makes no sense you weigh like 1k more lbs

  • @leschampagnes1 - The 2010 and up SHO's weigh that much, but the one in the video, like all GEN I SHO's, hits the scales at around 3300lbs, very close to this corvette.

  • @turbotoolman still the vette is rwd...pushing a car is a lot easier than pulling it

  • @leschampagnes1 not really it makes up for power loss in rwd you lose more power between the crank and wheels cuz of driveshaft and rear axel

  • @TransAmFTW uhhh what? it might lose some horsepower but its still got plenty enough to take on a 442 hp fwd ford that weighs 3300 lbs with no driver...somebody here is lying

  • @leschampagnes1 not really shos arent any oridnary engines dude just cuz you dont likem doesnt means shos cant be fast the yamaha 3.0l with variable length piping and secondray intakes its actually pretty deadly engine it responds very well to forced induction also.... sadly you remind me of a friend of mine he hates my car cuz it doesnt "look cool" he thinks you measure perfomance by looks but its not like that SHOs are the ultimate sleeper to him if it doesnt look good it cant be fast

  • @TransAmFTW it has nothing to do with how great the engine is...its common knowledge rwd has an advantage over fwd in a straight line race..i never said anything about looks so quit putting words in my mouth. there is no way in hell a vette with 450hp loses to a 443hp fwd taurus...its common fuckin sense unless the vette doesnt have 450hp or he fucked up shifting

  • @leschampagnes1 see im exacxtly right dude hp isnt everything and in a roll fwd is better dude get over yourself quit acting like a little kid

  • @TransAmFTW fwd is not better than rwd in a roll...you are right hp isnt everything, torque is and the vette has more torque than a turbo 6 cylinder....what would make you think fwd is better from a roll? do you understand basic physics at all?

  • @leschampagnes1 your an idiot dude weight distrubution doesnt take as much into effect from a rolling weight

  • @TransAmFTW thats not what i meant by understanding physics..its a lot easier to PUSH a car then to PULL it...RWD has the major advantage...how can you have a name like transamftw and not understand that

  • @TransAmFTW haha sorry bud but your mistaken, in a RWD car, the advantage is that the more torque you put down (harder you accelerate) the more the weight (center of gravity) shifts towards the rear of the car, henceforth the more weight over the rear tires which are getting power the more traction you have, it's a domino effect, the harder your throttle the better your traction in your rear tires get, weight over the tires transferring power to the ground means less energy (power) lost

  • @vortex2450 wow you are stupid no matter how much you push down there will still be same amount of hp loss and at a roll force wont hit towards the back as much as from a dead stop your tires are already rolling already touching the ground and dude fyi torque isnt throttle torque is a twisting motion genius high end it matters in hp hp is measured by mph

  • @leschampagnes1 - The Vette had less WHEEL hp, as the 450 is an estimated crank hp figure. Also, the turbo 6 is making more TQ than the Vette. Similar mass, gearing and c/d, so it really comes down to power under the curve. Comparing dyno sheets, the turbo 6 simply has a more favorable power curve, and therefore accelerates faster. Basic physics.

  • @turbotoolman uhh the specs posted say the sho has 412 lb ft of torque...you think the ls6 with 450 hp has less? a stock ls6 with 405 hp has 400 lb ft.............anyways a stock z06 runs mid 12s and this one claims 45 more hp...so that sho must be running high 11s? as far as the basic physics...there is a reason why nhra dragsters and funny cars are all rwd......but if you think you know better go ahead and think whatever you need to lol

  • @leschampagnes1 - again, we are talking about WHEEL hp/tq and CRANK hp/tq figures. All power figures listed for the turbo 6 are at the WHEEL. So yes, I think the Vette has less than 412ft lbs AT THE WHEELS. I don't need to think I know better as far as the outcome of this run, I DO know better as I was there and experienced it firsthand. I am not claiming fwd to be better than rwd, that is stupid, but in a roll-on race where traction is not an issue, fwd has no disadvantage.

  • @turbotoolman uhhh yeah it does...you are still pulling the car instead of pushing it which takes more force

  • @leschampagnes1 - Seriously? So you are telling me a two identical cars in terms of power/weight/c/d, one fwd and one rwd, that the fwd will get worse mileage because it 'takes more force' to move it? You can not be serious man. Once the cars are rolling at a speed where weight transfer does not affect traction, the car could not care less where it is getting its power from, the front, the rear, all of it wheels, or just one, equal power to ground means equal accelerative forces.

  • @turbotoolman who cares about mileage? two motors with same hp that are designed differently could get different mileage.....im telling you a fwd car ROLLING or stopped needs more force to do what a rwd car does....thats just common fucking sense...dont get your panties in a wad just because you have a fwd car...i mean they are still fun and obviously fast

  • @leschampagnes1 - The mileage argument was about two IDENTICAL vehicles, only difference was the driven wheels. FWIW, almost universally, a fwd manual transaxle will transmit MORE power to the ground than a RWD setup, given the same crank hp, IOW, there is less parasitic loss in a fwd system. Please explain to the rest of the world how it takes more energy to turn the front wheels than it does to turn the rear wheels, and back it up with some actual tech.

  • @turbotoolman when did i say it takes more energy to turn the wheels? it takes more energy to pull the weight of the car than it does to push it...its common sense, some actual tech you obviously lack..have fun with your ford taurus lol

  • @leschampagnes1 - You got me there man, that is some dang solid reasoning, you must have lots of that fancy enjuneering edukation. So let me guess, you put your boat trailer at the front of your truck, cause it takes less energy to push it eh?

  • @turbotoolman im sorry common sense makes your googled arguement look stupid? there is a reason why nascar cars, and nhra drag cars are rear wheel drive...but hey who am i to tell you? you obviously are a genius who knows better than everyone else despite the facts right in front of your face! get over yourself and your 20 year old taurus lols

  • @leschampagnes1 - This has nothing to do with a 20yr old Taurus (let me guess, that car is 6 yrs older than you eh?). Googled argument? What are you even talking about? I am still waiting for your explanation of why using the front wheels of a car to move it takes more energy than using the rear wheels. 'Cuz itz commin since' is not a solid argument. I am ready for you to show me the facts right in front of my face, because so far you have provided none. Leaving for now, to get over myself.

  • @turbotoolman a front drive car will have less power lost thru the tranny to pull the car compared to a rear drive car. rear traction is better for off the line performance. if any of those races against rear drive opponents were from a dead stop, the sho would have been toast. the races were roll on. this evens the playing field for the front drive cars. the sho's were indeed more powerful but, would have lost in standing start races.

  • @run4a69 - Yes, no doubt, which is why we went from a roll!!

  • @turbotoolman i forgot to mention i will be buying an sho next week. hats off to your super poweful sho.

  • @TransAmFTW dude stop wasting your time explaining facts to that moron.

  • I am picking up a 3.2 sho engine and converting it to rwd for a ranger project I am building. How much boost can a stock intercooled block take? and how much hp can i expect ? I have a 2.3t motor for it now, but I have decided to do something a little different

  • I love sleepers, something everyone assumes is slow, till they race you, good job guys :)

  • where can i get parts for my 1994 SHO ???

  • the sho is pretty sick considering what a sleeper it is. kept of with a fuckin corvette

  • vette won.. watch it again, he was pulling on you then backd off

  • @WPGinterceptor 2900 lbs vs 3500lbs, small block vs 3.0L v6.......

  • @97shobra a wins a win..

Watch fast and furious LOL.. winnings winning lol

  • @WPGinterceptor ....thats what i say when i beat $100k cars in my 97 taurus. i think its amazing that people can take a taurus, civic, sentra, neon, grandprix, cobalt, or any terd and make it fast. great job on the cars, every one. i have a 97v8 sho with almost 600bhp and crazy trq from 2 turbos. i have a budy who whips me in his gtp. i still find my self chasing a g.d gtp, lol. he gets me off the line all the time and thats always the diff. from a roll the sho is king. god luck every one.

  • @WPGinterceptor

you may be retarded... clearly he got the jump in the vette then he lost all ground as he was getting pulled on... he let off the vette did not... get your eyes checked or your ego whatever the problem is

  • @thecrew2999 yeah and a vette can do 180+ mph where as the SHO CANT!!! no way impossible.. aerodynamics.. anyways, let others figure it out

  • @WPGinterceptor but 146 mph stock for a car that costs 1/3 the vettes price......think about it

  • My first car in high school. I burn inside when I see others driving one :(

  • Gotta love the SHO

  • 9:1 JE pistons, rest is stock

  • what internals?

  • @ 1:58 did he disconnect something from the usb? You can hear the sound it makes :P :P

  • damn nice shos lmao and yea one of the main threats to a highly modded sho is...... another highly modded sho :)

  • nice i just got a 97 sho, pretty fast for me cause im only 16 i wish i could turbo it

  • @datrumakboy1020 kid i got a 97 sho with 2 civic 1.7L turbos....you need to make room any way you can. relocate the battery and cooling resivoir and some other lil things. find a nice exhaust mod shop and a well known tuner. or you can opt for rear mounted twins. so get rid of the eibachs springs. give your self some time. spend good money on the tranny, get a stall. it can be done. do a lot of research and get online and look for an awesome mod shop. that will be the hardest thing....

  • @97shobra just got a 98,what kind of numbers should i expect from a STS single turbo kit?

  • @datrumakboy1020 most people dont respect the v8 taurus, not even the v6 guys. it will be hard to find some one who has even worked on one. i have no vids of this car, but you can come see it at race way 41 in a couple of weeks. im from the south side of shicago and the track is about 70miles south in indiana. i have the ultimate sleeper sleeper. just cuz i have a huge dong doesnt mean i film it. i like all sho's, but i live for the v8's. i also have an 03 duratec wit an eaton m90. good luck kid

  • @datrumakboy1020 you can start with a nitros kit. go 2 v8sho its a web site for our cars. you can see all kids of shit: mods, s/c set ups, maintainence, exhaust, and all types of things. that site should be your new bible cuz no one has a clue about our cars. theyre all like der der duhhh derka derka. you will talk to some taurus dbags but for the most part you can all the answeres you need there. its only march...in a month you can buy a nitros kit. you got the whole summer. then i would...

  • @97shobra - got any videos of your SHO

  • get the tranny rebuilt and uppppppppgraged. find a good trans shop, preferably one that deals with mustangs or look to c if there're any in the lot...do some research. get a stahl too. then you will deff kill any v6 stick sho. with the nitros there will be no questions who is faster. lol. if you have any other ?'s bout what you can do in the meantime just message me. i can tell you bout some stuff you can do with no money and lil tools.

  • Gotta respect these SHOs man, don't judge a Taurus by it's cover! Haha.

  • i like!

  • at exactly 2:00 a USB device was unplugged

  • born2makk2007 talks alot shit for a guy with videos of dudes maing out a dick exams for favorited videos in his profile i dont see a car on his..just dudes

  • @bergaflickal He's a jealous freak...not even worth replying to.

  • stupid auto shufting

  • You can spend the same amount of money on a more relable, better looking, and potentially faster(for cheaper at that) Mustang, Camaro, Firebird-ect, and say you drive a cool car. Instead, you drive a really fast version of a Ford Taurus, which will never, no matter how fast it goes be a cool car.(even the new ones, while more reliable, still are the car you would expect your mother to buy)

  • @orbitofdoom16 - 1988 called, they want their mullet back.

  • @orbitofdoom16 You just don't understand the concept of how cool a sleeper is man. Its the fucking balls. Its what is under the hood that counts, not the flash.

  • 4000 rpm YES!

  • wow u actually wasted 3-5 grand on turboing this old beat down from the ground POS 1990 taurus?. ..u couldve spent that money on a decent paint job and a set of badly needed wheels....major FAIL bro

  • @born2makk2007 - Yeah, Fikse wheels are major suckage. Got some extra Rotas to sell me?

  • @born2makk2007 if he spent thousands on paint an rims an not the engine it would just be a ricer (R.ace I.nspred C.osmetic E.nhancements). all show, no go. that would be a fail. what stupid person would spend thousands on painting a slow broken down car?? and having the outside seem bland is the point of a sleeper car!! you never see it coming until its already beat you. and then youll be the one in a worthless p.o.s. with rims getting burned by an ugly old car. FAIL!!! SHO for the win!!!!!!!!!!

  • @squeefly37 if the car is old and broken down why the fuck are u wasting thousands of dollars on a fuckin supercharger u idiot???...secondly, its a shitbox 1990 ford taurus ..where this car belongs to be truthful is in a junkyard being salvaged for parts. this is 2010 u act like the 1990 ford taurus is a freakin classic or some shit..u call that a sleeper? i call that a FAIL.. obviously a LOSER who cant afford a decent looking car! so u race REAL cars around town in ur shitbox "sleeper" lol

  • @born2makk2007 your birth was fail

  • ya,,, i just lost my girlfriend cause my vette lost to a 20 year old Ford Tauras!/?? lol

  • @IRONSEAN7 - Aww, don't be hard on yourself, she didn't deserve you.

  • SHO beat the Vette when it shifted...pure and simple

  • By far one of the better put together car videos on the net. Perfect song choice, great lighting, great timing, nice uncluttered graphics. Well done. Whether you like the vehicles highlighted or not, gotta respect the art.

  • @turbotoolman fail...

  • SHO=zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Comment removed

  • @ddhemi426 - You are spot on, these SHO's are sleepers.

  • You guys wouldn't want to take on a couple little civics would ya?? We live in Madison, WI.........

  • @sswainable

WI is a ways from OK. That car (the turbo) is long gone. The replacement is long gone. The latest iteration is not exactly street legal, is about 800lbs lighter, and will be nearly doubling the boost pressure. But if I ever end up near Madison, I would be up for a run!

  • Those things must understeer like mad lol.

  • i have 620 hp :). and 4 digit torque...thats what matters

  • @DieselMX34 wow how small of an e-penis do you have to have to drop a comment like that?

  • Those are total sleepers, cars look like shit, but haul ass. Good Video

  • the ultimate sleeper!!!!

  • Whats with all the rolling starts?

  • @vector150 - Could have had something to do with being on an interstate highway.

  • I WANT YOUR CAR

  • wicked SHO!! thumbs up

  • i cant believe that thing beat a corvette. you have one impressive car!

  • where do you get turbos and superchargers for SHO's?? i have a 89 and i have looked for hours and never found one yet

  • @steve1300

You have to have one custom built. I am currently working on my third turbocharged SHO, it will be quite a bit more potent than the one in this vid.

  • @steve1300 Well I had a 89 Sable with the 3.0 Vulcan motor and was able to modd a turbo on to it. Those 3.0's can take the same injectors / pistons / rods as the 5.0 V8 ford motor, and a few other parts. Anyway the turbo was from Mazda & had to do all custom piping for the manifold & intake. Also had to set up the motor for low compression. At it's peak, I could run 13.8's in the 1/4 mile, and the body fell apart before the motor. As far as i know the motor is running in a sand buggie now.

  • how much did it cost u for the turbo and the fabracations to the SHO? cause i have a 92 SHO that im lookin into turbo charging it.

  • wow...this is an ugly car, but sure is fast...don't wanna mess w/ these w/ my honda...hahahah....

  • these sho's r fast but they look like honda hatchbacks

  • @Saul0052 lol not even close my friend

  • @Saul0052 get outta here fords do not look like a fortune cookies

  • Comment removed

  • i was going to buy a sho but instead got a 98 f150 with a mustang engine swap, Should get going good when i get on it

  • and what supercharger did the 3.2 have

  • Vortech s-trim

  • where did your buddy get his vortech i have been trying to get one for my 95 for a couple of months now and cant find one

  • The vette had you beat easy, too bad the driver of the car doesn't know how shift

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry, try again, you fail.

  • Well, simply put, the corvette could have been shifted faster. This is the 'human' element. Still, very entertaining video.

  • Seemed to shift plenty quick enough to me. Would not have mattered. I simply have more power under the curve.

  • i want to race a stock v6 & v8sho in my 03 cadillac dts(300hp)northstar for fun just to see what will happen. anybody in baltimore with a stock sho wanna try? any guesses as to who will win anybody?

  • Let's 'hope' you would win...

OK OK. The Gen1/Gen2 SHO deal is basically over alright. When they were new, America wasn't making a 4door that could touch it. Neither was Germany or Japan for the price, plus they take to tuning real good. That's all...

  • v6 sho not saying your car is slow but the power to weight ratio

  • Comment removed

  • i go out to my garage and sniff tires and oil every once in a while

  • is yours a v6 or v8. and did you just put the turbo on and stuff or dd you add other performance parts to it..

  • 3.2 V6. Forged pistons and the turbo, only other mods included EH intake/BBB's. Of course, to support the turbo it needed a fuel system and tuning hardware/software. I also had susp/brakes upgrades.

  • what's the estement price of all that?

  • turbo stuff, around $6k if you bought all new stuff (and high quality). Leave off the forged pistons, EH intake, BBB,s and go with used turbo parts, you could replicate it for $2500 or less.

  • How many miles does each SHO have at the time of this vid?

  • Hmm, no idea on the other two, but mine (the turbo) was around 120k I think.

  • gotta love the fastest shit box on earth had one in high school and i really hurt alot egos w that car

  • @Louey420 me too. The car literally fell apart. Terrible quality but very fast.

  • vortec is a gm product wtf is going on here

  • dude come on vortech supercharger not vortec as in gm heads ok look them up they r widely used on mustangs. Incase you r wondering a vortech sc is a cintrifical charger looks kinda like a turbo with a chain or belt

  • iam fully aware of the vortech

  • sho is a sick sleeper car

  • gotta love a yamaha.

  • hey where did the guy w/the supercharger find one at b/c i have a 94 sho and i can't find a SC i wanna do that

  • NICE!! thats a TAIRASS SHO!

  • Cool huh? I even saw someone CGI the Vette beating me, cool stuff.

  • where/how did you get the hood. or how did you fabricate the scoop?

  • Then cowl hoods are from CincySHO, but they are no longer made. You can now get a carbon fiber cowl hood from SHOsource.

  • hey thanks for the reply. the only thing is that i have a 1993 mercury sable. which is the same thing as a taurus.. but is that a website or a store?

  • SHOsource is a website.

  • k thanks man.. and since there virtually the same car,. you think the hood will fit right?

  • st7ng, Yeah, it will fit no problem.

  • thanks for the help man,, its greatly appreciated :]

  • I like how the SHO only shifts once for all those races. The vette was ready for 6th and started in 3rd. haha. And fourth still had some room. The vette was in peak gear and the SHO in 3rd at 4000k. Put the SHO at 5000l then see it pull the vette instantly.

  • What are you talking about, can't you see the Vette won! :D Yeah, I wish we had started at just a bit higher speed, so I could have been a little higher up my HP curve. But with the Vette starting in 2nd gear, it actually made the race a little more interesting, since he got a little bit out in front and then I got to reel him in!

  • The bickering posts aside, I liked it. I just wanna know how ya turbocharged the SHO!?

  • It's an entirely custom setup.

  • auto?? moves good.. i like the new 1

  • how much would it cost to turbo charge the SHO? cause i have a 92 SHO with MTX. that im lookin to do that to it.

  • Yes, it is a custom setup. Sold it after I swapped it to another SHO. Now I am building another turbo SHO, this one with a more sporting intent. Looking to make 600+whp, and a sub 2800lb curb.

  • @Butchcub75 Ask on SHOForum.com
