@Rangerfull3 when I played ARMA2 online last...

it was a mix of just regular guys with actually military vets playing.

Some took the game serious (during one game we actually had to do a 360 degree security for a chinook... and we got attacked which was fukcing EPIC) and others just had fun.

But, having an actual group to play with and actual plans and strategy is what really makes this game shine.

@Rangerfull3 Everyone in ShackTac is there to have fun. While we do have people who are planning on joining/are already in/have been in the military, everyone is there to enjoy ArmA2 and each other's company.

Question, when Arma 3 comes out, are you guys going to switch over? I hear it's going to require a lot more power from player's PCs. Especially in the graphics department.

I'm also asking because I've been watching your vids for a while now,m and I'm considering buying the game. But if you're going to switch to Arma 3, then I might as well wait until it comes out.

@uber4ndr3w we of course won't switch the exact day it comes out, but yeah, we will switch to Arma 3 when its released. As for it's system requirements, I don't know, but from looking at screenshots and whatnot I don't expect it to require too much more than Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

@CHKilroy My problem with fraps is that the recordings take up way too much space. for 720p it's around 3 minutes=4GB. Worse for 1080. I might check out DxTory if it's even slightly better.

@uber4ndr3w The DxTory codec itself on the lowest quality setting is about the same size as the Fraps codec. I personally use the PicVideo codec, despite its typical mjpeg blemishes, it's about 1/5th the filesize of Fraps, but the codec's not free. DxTory also has an advantage over Fraps that you may be interested in, which is that you can play in 1080p but record at 720p
