@megaluisdeth take off the back cover, take off the handle, turn on its SIDE and LOOSEN the feet as this holds the amp/tube section. I'm recalling from memory, but this is the gist of it
@RokGitara I dont ave that problem with mine, however it isnt a true volume pedal, its a shortboard with a built in volume pedal. It alters the sound coming out of the amp.
Cara vc não é o CSSTRIKE 2006 do Mercado Livre? estou te procurando, pedi seu email para vários usuários q negociaram com vc. AInda tá vendendo seu JSX? me add no msn pra conversarms,,
ok i just got this amp used from guitar center great condition was wounding i seen ones with 1 guitar input mine has 2 high input and low input im using Emgs-HZ pick ups witch input should i use?
For more extreme metal styles, you MIGHT need a pedal, but I doubt it. The Ultra Channel has loads of gain. However, the clean channel takes pedals very well. Also, this amp sounds excellent at low volume levels. (yeah, I know.Who wants to play an amp like this at low volume?!!)
Are you kidding me?? Ive had this amp for 6 months and the sound is fucking heavy. That is if you use EMG 81s like I do. I don't know what other pick-ups sound like through it except for my strat that has a seymore hot rails which is only "ok". But seriously dude EMG 81's and a good guitar with a heavy mahogany body such as a Mayones Setius guitar (like i use) and you will be in heaven. FACT. Good luck.
Hey, thanks a lot. I'm selling my old Ibanez RG and getting an ESP, and a new amp. I hate how Line 6 sounds really artificial, I have a Spider 3 15. I'm looking for an amp thats $100-$300 and can sound heavy with or without pedals.
save a little bit, get a peavey valveking and get a good overdrive pedal
i use a boss me-70 through a jsx. but my friend has a valveking, and its amazing for the money, and the boss sounds really heavy, and im using an ibanez s470 with stock pickups, which are typically thin and weak
i use a pedal (boss me-70), but the ultra channel is pretty weak on this amp, like its thin.. but the amber channel is thick and can get pretty heavy. i use the amber channel, through in a little bit of boost or distortion, and get amazzing tone.
I got one and the answer is : YES. Only annoying detail. A 7 pin cable for channel switching. Means you can't control the JSX via GT10 or so. Need a special interface. Otherwise it's a terrific machine. Clear channel is just incredible. 10 times better than marshall and some Mesa amps.
man i played one of these at guitar center after i got my guitar setup...the tech kept coming by asking me to pay him but i couldn't stop playin it...this thing rocks man its got great tone
both joe satriani and steve vai made very good tube signature amps. although vai's is a little cheaper it is still very good with a versatile tube like vai tone :D
i love both of them. personnally however, i like my jsx better, because it is more versatile, and has much more tones. the 5150 has a bit more gain, but the jsx has plenty of gain
Great demo of an awesome amp! I own one and hook it up to a Marshall 2x12 1936 and it's the only amp I need to get just about any kind of tone. And for any tone gaps, this amp responds very well to any kind of pedals. Thanks Joe and Peavey for this amp!
the master at 10 add some treble and feed back.. i´m using the master at 10 with a THD HOT plate to power tube distortion, but the tone at low volume is very cool.
I know you said you are using the eminence governor speakers, but what actual cab are you using? Is it homemade or did you buy it? Closed back or open? Also, where on the cone is your 57 placed and what angle? Thank you!
The cabinet is homemad closed back. I like to use the right corner with a little angle and very very close to the speaker. I never mic the center, always the corner, the sound has more low end. thanks
Amazing. I like your style. The amp sounds great man, both clean and dirty. I am about to buy one, but can't actually try before I buy (buying online)...On the clean channel, if you increase the gain does it break up nicely/at all?
The clean channel does not breakup alone, i think you alread know, but using a pedal the sound breakup and its amazing. When the volume is about 12:00 the sound became more warm and bealtiful.
Ahh yep I didn't see your other vid with the DS1. Sounded great. What about under lower gain settings on the drive channels, is it a smooth breakup or quite rough and crackly. Some say this amp can be quite 'bright'. It's a tossup between this and the Marhsall JVM410. The pain of not being able to test drive the JSX!
Absolutely love this amp! I used it along with a Marshall 1960A and a Genz-Benz 2x12, sounds great with both. Clean channel, no buzz at all. Amazingly clean! Based on the Peavey XXX. Highly recommend!
hey man how do you like this amp. i think im about to buy one. i have a 5150, but i want a 3 channel amp with an actual clean chnnel.ha. but great demo man.
Very cool man, I just bought this amp last weekend. Love it. I have a little demo up, but the audio isn't great because I'm simply using my camera's mic. May I ask what settings you are using for ultra and crunch? I am more than happy to share mine if you are interested.
Hi! i cannot remember mine, but i like to use: Crunch B8, M3, T6 gain 7, R5 P6 V3.
Ultra: B8, M2.5, T5, gain 5, faton. The clean channel T5, B4, M4. The loop 10return and 10send. I like to use the chanel volume high than the master volume. what's yours settings?
Crunch (for metal): T 5-6, M 3-4, B 7, V 5, G 6-7, fat switch on
Crunch (for classic rock): T 5-6, M 5, B 7, V 5, G 3-4, fat switch on
Ultra channel: T 5-7, M10, B 7, V5, G 4-5, fat switch off
As you can see, I really crank the mids when using the Ultra channel, which I only use for leads. To be honest, I'm pretty content just using the Crunch channel for leads too! As for clean, I keep most at 5, with treble up a little at times. Anyway, I just sub'd to you so I'll keep in touch!
I played only 20 minutes with the Triple XXX :), both amps are excellent. The XXX is very very good. The main difference is the clean and crunch channel. The clean channel is unbreakable and the crunch is more classic sound on the JSX.
Very nice work! Even though the gain goes all the way to "11" on this amp, it's nice to just play clean stuff on it...it really shines! Good job with the riffs.
Wonderful stuff man. I dig the whole mood and vibe od this. Everyone wants to show off by cranking the hell outta this amp but not too many can do it without the distortion like you have here! Good work.
Does any one know how to open this amp? I bought it used and there is a plastic bag where the tubes are at!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP ME!!!

Does this amp have a big bottom end? Is it it good for metal rythms?
joehenao16 1 year ago
@joehenao16
YEESSSS to both of your questions.
Just keep in mind that it's a 120w amp, so it's meant to be played LOUD.
That's when you'll get the most out of it.
I have one and it sounds fantastic at gigs, but sucks for home practice with low volume............
RokGitara 1 year ago
@RokGitara that is where volume pedals come in handy. You still dont get 100% but it does sound a lot better
TheDisturbedSmurf 1 year ago
@TheDisturbedSmurf - Attenuators are a much better option, though expensive.
In my experience, volume pedals seem to strip away all the "mojo" of great amps.
In the end you're left with a dull lifeless sound....
Also(as far as I know) they only reduce the signal coming out of your guitar, not the amp. So they wouldn't be very effective in that situation.

@RokGitara I dont ave that problem with mine, however it isnt a true volume pedal, its a shortboard with a built in volume pedal. It alters the sound coming out of the amp.

That amp has a line out right? Can you go from that straight to a computer?
Klobaerscht 4 years ago
yes, but the sound will go to the speaker. I use the THD hot Plate line out and some virtual speaker simulation to record draft stuffs.

Good work.
