I bought a SNK Arcade Collection game on the PSPgo. This game is in the collection. Last week, I got stuck somewhere, waiting around and dying of boredom. I thought I had left the PSPgo at home, but turns out I had it in my bag all along. Turned it on, loaded up the SNK Arcade Collection game, and loaded Baseball Stars 2. Baseball Stars 2 saved my ass that day, lol.

Since the runner on first left the base and reached second long before the batter was called out, he made a sort of illegal manuver. TRY to be objective, you fucking imbecile. NEO-GEO had TONS of absolute garbage on it. TONS... They had A FEW great games. There were 16 and 24 meg cartridges on other systems that looked much better than NEO-GEO's 256 million-meg carts. LOL!

I'm not sure how to do it on the Wii, but in the arcade version (I'm sure it applies to the Wii as well), hold the UP direction and pitch the ball. If you throw too many sinkers, your pitcher does tire a LOT quicker.
On a team like the Korean Red Vipers, you're gonna be hurting if you throw too many of those too. Tyson is a HORRIBLE pitcher, but an absolute badass at the plate when batting! So I try and just lay down pretty juicy pitches for the AI to hit just so I can bat quicker. :)
Man.... I wish SNK had brought the old school Baseball Stars to GBA or DS before it went bankrupt. And no, not this neo-geo arcade slugfest, I'm talking old school simulation style with the awesome RPG elements of upgrading your chars with money won from games...
These fast paced arcade version are okay, but after a few games it's totally stale, and the only thing that would make it not get boring is the whole aspect of upgrading a player made team from scratch and building it up to be great!
Yeah, I hear ya. I LOVE this game, but it does get pretty stale after awhile. That's what you get when you can only pitch left to right (with an occasional sinker).
Have you tried MLB the show on the PS3? I was pretty 'meh' about most modern day baseball games until I tried that game. Road to the show is just absolutely amazing! Create a character, send him through the minors and try to get him to the bigs!

NO! It's nothing like the first 2 on NES where you could power up everything from Running to Defense to even Prestige!
To say the least, this game is just an arcade style game made for the arcade, so it's really more like a fast paced button smashing baseball game rather than the more in depth simulation style games that were made for the NES....
Get an emulator and the ROMS and play the NES versions...
I would kill for a DS remake of the NES games... and none of this 3d bullshit.
I don't really remember the first one. If you mean like the NES version where they keep stats, etc. no. But you CAN power up your batters with a 'POW' bat that's super fat and pretty much guarantees you a screamer of a line drive hit or a homerun.
This game is freakin' addictive, it's like crack but in a good way that you can't get enough of it. I have SNK classics for the PSP and I play this the most.
Though of course, SNK's sports games are all super cool, even Turf Masters is simply great to play and I hated golf!

wrong. Baseball stars 2 was by SNK, 2020 Superbaseball was made by Pallas. But you are right, the games have a lot in common. Maybe SNK hired some of the Pallas Staff to make BB stars 2.
in case you don´t know, SNK "recruited" many of their programmers from former companies/teams. For example when Irem closed doors SNK got hold of a few programmers and then they came up with Last Resort, a game that has R-type written all over it (but being an outstanding game in it´s own right). The same with the game Pulstar (the company behind it was Aicom, founded by former Irem crew) and Metal Slug (in the Metal Slug case you should check wikipedia and search for Metal Slug and Nazca).
Depends on what you want in the baseball game, cartmann....I personally have a soft spot for Baseball Stars 1, simply for the more "hands on" experience with improving the players or buying new ones. This game though is a blast to play so I'd check it out.

I've got this game for the WII as part of SNK Collection Vol.1 I love the gameplay & animations.
How do you throw a splitter?
I assume the pitcher gets tired since he can do a limited amount of fastballs.
