  • I don't care about any of them, Babylon 5 is the best, period. This music, the images, just divine, beautiful, meaningful, powerful, someday, if it ever reruns, more people will find out the magnificent this show was..will always love it.

  • It plays in 240.

  • @lipovan87 This video will only play in 240p resolution.

  • Am I the only one who can't see or hear a thing except for this creepy, barely-visible skull?

  • @Torgoable Nope, the vid isn't playing anything at all other than what you've described.

  • didja here the man say FREE.I heard that.He sounded like everything.

  • i always thought bab5 was cut short myself, like they were forced to end it sooner than they wanted to.

i remember i started watching this about the age 9 of in 1996, glued to that tiny tv my parents had.

i dont think i anticipated any other sci-fi series's episodes more than bab 5, with the exception of SG:1, but Stargate: Universe has destroyed my respect for the Stargate Franchise, the same can be said for the latest Star Trek film and its franchise.

    whats happening to sci-fi? *cries*

  • @TyriaelSoban I've noticed that usually the best series are cut somewhat short. It helps them stay good through the years. You can always drag a good show on well past its prime.. but then it loses the chemistry. Star trek went a good distance because your not really getting much in an episode, plot wise for the series an individual episode can be completely meaningless. In B-5 having everything connected, interwoven makes for a better show, but shorter lived.

  • @GhostInTheShell29

    yeah, i guess your right.

the plot wasnt totally skewed off in tangents in ds9 though, if i recall though they had that whendon chap who did Buffy / Angel / Firefly running around in the credits somewhere for ds9, might explain why the episodes linked a little better.

definitely as far as star trek is concerned ds9 was by far my favorite.

  • This makes Stargate et al. look like a nostril. How do the shows for dumb-guys stay on the air? But I answer my own question.

  • This video made me cry

    .

What a wonderful 6 years (1993-99) J.Michael Straczynski and the wonderful actors provided for us. Even today Babylon 5 remains my favorite show on television

    .

  • @harleykman Yep, Babylon 5 can certainly make you feel very emotional with so many touching moments throughout the show performed so well by the cast and to amp up tthe feeling Christopher Franke's score really pulls on the heart strings making grown men cry. A true television masterpiece.

Mind you in my opinion the best Babylon 5 short video has to be from the Babylon 5 series 4 DVD set, called a "No retreat, no surrender - the DVD suite"

  • video itself 2 of 5. I save the top ratings for JMS himself.

  • I had the privilege to see this and the Babylon 5 Requiem some years ago on big screen at the Babylon Files convention in Cologne, Germany, and - sir - you did one hell of a job to capture the spirit and drama of this amazing series!

B5 is, imo, to this day THE best epic story ever to be told on television - gripping, moving and exiting.

    Cheers!

  • Epic...Saga...Homeric

  • This was a great reel.

Everything I liked about the series was here.

  • Slogans and tunes and sceneries and characters I love! :)

  • amazing

  • Having seen this in June 1997 when it premiered at DragonCon, I was blown away with how good it was. 12 years later, and it's just as good, if not a little better--this serves as a fitting tribute for some of those on the show that are no longer with us.

  • If they do remake babylon 5, I say they keep all the original audio and make it really high quality CG. It would also be nice if they kept the same movements as the actors because they did such a great job.

  • I agree. The actors were already great. IF a remake was created, I don't know if it would actually do better than the origanal however, the 90s one is already great! :-)

  • I also meant keep same voices, etc. It would be an inexpensive to repopularize Babylon 5 and maintain the legacy of the original actors. If done correctly, the story is still very relevant, it would have potential to be succesful, that is as long as its not fucked up by whoever would make it.

  • Oh yes you are right...but without Andreas Katsulas (Gkar) will it carry the gravitas?

  • faved!!!

i am on the babylon 5 trip .. i love it

    ..saw the first two seasons...

    thank you

    greets

    ender

  • Wow! Interesting background info. And thank you for your part in getting that final season on the air.

    Very cool video. 5 X 5. . .

  • babylon 5 is an example of tv perfection my only problem with it is that sinclair doesnt get into his role fully other than that the show is perfect.

  • It's a shame no new sci-fi shows can even compete with Babylon 5 even after all this time. Even with much higher production values you need great writers or 1 in B5's case. Thank God for DVDs to watch & rewatch a master class in sci-fi TV satisfying on so many levels.

  • Yeah B5 is bit of an embarrasment for newer tv shows. Over 10 years old series and STILL kicking crap out of newer shows with bigger budgets!

It's not the money or effects. It's the STORY that matters and B5 is still the best in that area.

B5 is unique. Too bad it's over but all good things must come to an end.

  • While I do love B5 and will agree that is probably the best sci-fi that's ever been on TV, the new Doctor Who has also been quite excellent.

  • @Khandor82 Nah, it will never die. There will be a major motion picture sometime, maybe even a trilogy (something B5 would be more suited for than a single outing), a new TV series, etc. That franchise is here to stay.

The B5 universe is millions of years old - there are MANY stories still to be told... as novels... graphic novels...tv series...movies... MANY.

  • @hcvang Not really likely. JMS isn't interested in doing any more stuff unless he gets some serious budget which WB isn't likely to give. Previous dvd production exceeded sales and if anything WB was inclined to reduce budget, not increase it...

  • "There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against that power governments and tyrants and armies can not stand."

    .

Sounds like we need G'Kar for president

    .

  • I absolutely love Babylon 5 and since the dream of a series of straight to DVD "Lost Tales" has sadly died, I would absolutely adore the chance to see some big screen Babylon 5 movies. They would have to tell all news stories of course because Babylon 5 should not be remade. Well in fact it could not be remade successfully. Can you imagine anyone but Andreas Katsulas playing G'kar ? No me either.

  • great

    five stars

  • Man, I love this. What's the name of the track you used?

  • The track is a mix of music from several of the seasons actually, mostly season 1 and 5 main theme songs I think. Unfortunately, (most of) the music CDs, all by Chris Franke, do not seem to be for sale anymore online... :/

  • Thanks--I figured it was all Chris Franke... yeah the CDs will be hard to come by. Guess it's time to comb eBay!

  • If there was an ever a theatrical movie it would be a new story (probably a sequel) because you could never hope to adapt all five seasons into movies...

  • Definitely my favourite of all these B5 music videos! Well done!

*goes back to praying for B5 big theatrical movie to happen*

  • I think if there is ever going to be any Babylon 5 movies it would need to be done in 10 movies to fully show the story. It would need the skills of Peter Jackson or Spielberg to direct them, the project would bigger than The Lord of the Rings and all 6 Stars Wars movies combined..... I think I'll join you in prayer !!

  • You'd need literally someone as cleaver as Orson Wells and it would be an epic space-opera 24 hours-long with a cast so long Holly Wood just cannot provide, and with a plot so ingenious and spectacular it would put in deserved shame to the StarGate, Star Wars and Star Trek combined franchises
