my first long-distance train ride was in 2006 from Chicago to Dallas....
u-n-f-o-r-g-e-t-a-b-l-e
after a bad year, i treated myself and bought a sleepette
it was something i'd always wanted to do & was probably the best spent $300 something dollars i've shelled out :)
now i live in nyc and family is back in TX. i'm so tired of air travel & wish there was a more direct train route from here to there. but i guess mountains kinda get in the way :D
hey , do you think it would be fun to make the trip from Atlanta to Denver by train ? i´ve always wanted to (i feel it has some kind of nostalgic feeling to take the train, enjoy the view, meet ppl) but im scared that it can get too boring being so many hours ... what do you say ?
@fackafacka From personal Experience i can say it probably won't get to boring especially after leaving "hotlanta" because there's so much to see and do on a train.
It might take longer but for the same price as an arline ticket you get your own room
i'm taking amtrak in August from NYC to miami i wonder how a 31hr trip will be like. Has anyone went that long?? How's the food? how's the bedrooms. Jus curious great vid!!!
Thanks for the compliment! I keep riding, I've made another trip on the crescent to New Orleans and on the meateor from Jesup, GA to Palatka, Florida.
I simply bought a ticket and will be commuting from South florida to New york....great man thoroughly enjoyed your you tube post....nice to know what to expect!
Great job! It's kind of hard to hear the music because there's people talking but is the best video of the Crescent I've ever seen.Check out my Youtube channel "Amtrak 2008 Channel".
what slide show maker did you use to make this video? great vid!

Why take a train when you can get to your destination on a plane in LESS than half the time and price?

I saw where you have Emperor of the north as a favorite movie...Ernest Borgnine is a really convincing bad guy. Excellent movie
