They are an AMERICAN COMPANY which means that outsources like a mother. Most of their knives are technically Asian. Being that is where they are made. And stamped with that US company logo. The spring-assisted knives and the multi-tools are made in the United States; fixed blades in Taiwan; arc lock knives in Japan; and economy knives and gear in China. Some knives and tools may be created in other countries, but that is rare, according to SOG customer service.

The Blade is AUS 8. Which is a japanese steel . Not a bad steel, wish they'd issue an s30v (prefered)or cpm154 version. Maybe even D2, that'd be cool. The knife itself is assembled in washington, USA. I'm assuming they cut, forge, and heat treat the blade there as well. However, the steel itself is japanese.
