Very nice evaluation! I think other students learning American English can benefit from this video too, since they may have similar problems.
When you pronounce the /d/ in "said softly" without bringing the tongue down, it sounds very much like "set softly" to me. I know that native speakers can perceive the difference between "said" and "set" in this case. But I can hardly perceive it.
I am sorry you are having problems! The KK sound is made at the back of the mouth with the back of the tongue, and the TT sound at the front of the mouth with the front of your tongue. That might be why you are having difficulty. Try them both several times separately, and once you are comfortable start saying them together, slowly at first, then with increased speed.
I have a hard time speaking words like character, characteristic, characterize, etc. I feel like my tongue and cheeks are so twisted that all sounds seem to be blurred or squeezed together.
That guy was Chinese?! When I first watched it, I thought he was British XD
You sound like an awesome language teacher :D

Very effectuve evaluation! I would say the student is very good to start - I'd like to see an evaluation of a student with a thick accent.
