  • Australia could have got this if it weren't for the everything under a Falcon being a Mazda based product back in the day.

  • I had a 1991 1.6 Lx, it was ok but that carburettor was bloody awful

  • Sierra ist geil, selber 2 gehabt!

  • I have a 1987 Merkur XR4Ti and I just love that car more than anything in this world. I plan on buying a few other Sierras too. WILL ALWAYS LOVE FORD EUROPE AND MOST OF ALL THE SIERRA.

  • I'm in love with SIERRA by FORD

  • Sierra got owned by Cavalier in the 80's, ford were expecting it to be number 1 seller but Cavalier was the best selling car in it's range. You can see why the mk2 cav was a much better looking car than the early sierra's who's jelly mould shape on the mk 1 was just pure vomit enducing.

  • @CharlieChaz82

I take it you weren't there then.

  • Owned three sierras in my time, an '89 1.6L (7 year old at the time and completely rotten, inner and outer sills rotten through), an '82 1.6 Ghia (early example, nice, clean rot free car, but slow), and finally a '90 2.9 XR4x4i, (loved it, ugly and rusty, but fast and torquey, with amazing grip and poise), I alway loved the fact that they were rear wheel drive and a more "manly" car to drive than the anodyne and square FWD mk2 Cavalier at the time!

  • I've got a 1992 Sierra myself. The 2 litre DOHC of course, and that baby is such a good car. I Love the 2 litre engine, and has good performance and is reliable.

I Love my Sierra and I wouldn't trade it for a VW Golf! It's not my last Sierra

  • ma dad had 2 sierras an 1988 f reg and a 1991 j reg they where great one was 1.6 one was 1.8 both lx not azura or chasseur

    px for a mondeo

  • My dad had a metallic silver 1993 'K'-Reg. Azura model, one of the last ones ever made and was an absolute beauty!

One of the best motors he has ever owned!

  • That was taking liberties a bit. "there was a time when diesel cars belonged in the slow lane", what, like prior to 1990 when they made the 2.3d sierra?

  • yes, the 2.3d sierra was slow. amazingly reliable, my dad had one for 400,000 miles without a hic up, but dreadfully slow.

the sierra was one of the all time great cars

  • Sierra is one of the best cars ever made.

  • @Marcinex22

    speech mate.

    sierra lovers cool

    sierra haters suck balls

  • @Marcinex22

    THE ACTUAL BEST.

  • 0:44-0:47 it's Scorpio, not Sierra

  • its part of the add if you listen its talking about ABS was only for large cars, now you can get it in the sierra haha

  • Yes, because Scorpio was much bigger than Sierra.

  • I loved mine before I had to scrap it at 7 years old because it was shite and rusty..

  • @mickeymoose76 Can't deny the fact, that they rust. THat's one thing you have to look out for. As long as the car has been taken care of, and you as owner take care of your Sierra, you've got a good car. I couldn't ask for a better car than my 1992 Sierra

  • "Only one Ford Sierra" - to get hold of the Sierra name in the 1st place, Ford attempted to sue a British kit car maker Dutton, who sold a 2wd offroad lookalike called the Dutton Sierra, which ironically was all Ford mechanical components!

  • i wouldn't part with my erra for n e thing they rule! every one i know who has had one has loved their one. they are really underated

  • Did You know with the exception of Australia this was ford's mid size car for the eighties and most of the nineties.Australia made do with a rebadged Mazda 626.

  • Not quite - In North America the Ford Tempo/Mercury Topaz was the car of choice in the Sierra's size (although the Sierra 3 door was sold there briefly as the Merkur) and the 626 based Telstar was sold in most of the Asia-Pacific region...

  • oh hynundai accent oh lovely , what the fuck are you on ?? YOUR A PRICK !!!!!!!

  • the hyundai accent!?! you couldnt have picked a worse comparison mate... You might as well have said a Kenwood chef makes a better car than a Sierra>.

  • i miss not seeing sierras. they used to be everywhere

  • i miss seeing sierras*
