@Goldenrod636 So do I BUT the 5-sp trans is WAY better than the auto which this car would have been for it to be a leather car.  I like the leather too which is why this car now has a nice factory leather interior! There were only 800 of these cars built, 400 leather/auto (with a de-tuned computer) and 400 cloth/5-sp cars.

@Goldenrod636 LOL yes, the whole interior is leather. I left the original cloth one in for the photos to show the difference. It's dramatic!

@Goldenrod636 Yes, it would look absent! None of the Shelby lancers came with a sunroof. The overhead console is quite long. I've got a spare if you're looking for one, it needs upholstery and I don't know if it works.

Is the engine in this car any different than the 2.2 turbo that was in my '84 Dodge 600?

@theblackcrowe2003 YES they are different! The motor in your '84 was the venerable Chrysler dubbed (Turbo1). The motor in my Shelby Lancer is the Shelby modified Turbo2 motor and performance-wise they are literally a night and day driving difference. Both good motors and BOTH respond very well to modifications.

I flew to CO to buy mine. Drove it home and used it for a year. I had to rebuild the engine which was expensive and modified it. They do not handle like the Shelby modified cars but the power is AMAZING for a small displacement overweight 4-dr! Good stuff tho!

That's awesome! That reminds me, I don't know if you've seen it, but there's a dealer called Gesswein motors in SD ( found them in deals on wheels magazine) & they have an '87 Shelby Lancer AND an '89 Shadow VNT, both have 40 original miles!! check out their site if you haven't.

Been tubo since '85- 5 GLH turbo's, one 2.5 shadow auto, galant vr-4, evo. Just the other day at costco we found a little old lady driving a chery 5speed lebaron gts 4door, red leather int! Asked her to give it to us, we'll see!

Nice video, one of the better test drive videos I've seen on all of YouTube. I own Shelby Lancer #63 and the sound is great to hear since I store the car in winter and don't drive it. The only difference between our cars is I have the PSSSHH sound when shifting (BOV installed).

Thank you. I've seen your pics on the Turbododge site. You have a nice car! My car took a whole weekend to get looking like it is in the video. The paint is bad but everything else is really quite nice. This car was Johnny Spiva's old car and it's got a few.... goodies lets say!

One of these days I will have a video to post. My CSX is in the middle of an extensive restoration. Not many folks go for a "restoration." My car is getting the drivetrain from a '91 Spirit R/T like the '90 prototype CSX. It should be a real hoot.

I'm amazed! There's dissemination amidst the ranks?? LOL. I've owned one of all the Shelby (dodge) cars minus the truck 'cuz it's not my thing. The charger and omnis get laughed at fast or not. Never though they'd reverse that onto another SD. I thought those were safe, I guess not! LOL.

This car has solid motor mounts, 2.5" full exhaust,g-valve and the MP stage2 computer. The tires are close to new even still with 15 psi. Lots of spin but I don't drive it irresponsibly. Had to do something to put on the video.. u know? Thanks!!

I'm really glad you guys are liking this. I LOVE this car! The Shelby Lancer is alot of fun! These cars were SO ahead of their time and it's sad they didn't continue with them. This technology was 20 years too early and society only tolerates very few changes at a time. Yes, I know they make the decals but the sides are just too bold for my taste. I'll leave the decklid designations since they will most commonly be seen when in action. I will be posting again soon. Enjoy!!

i have an 89 2.5 lancer shelby turbo with a can-am intake and a straight pipe on it.. its not real quick off the line but it redlines 115 in fourth gear these cars are so fast for a four cylinder its crazy

Thank man! I happen to really dig this car more than I thought I would so i wanted to do something cool. I had a blast putting this together and it came out ok. The only thing I wish is that I had one of my friends help me shoot some inserts for the driving sequence to "beef" it up a little. It's not bad for a rush job though.
