  • The best villians out of the old Burton/Schumacher films goes like this for me -

Penguin and Catwoman were the best, Jim Carrey's Riddler was surprisingly good and Jack Nicholson was cool as the Joker, though he is a tad bit overrated in that role. I'll give Uma Thurman props for being the best villain in Batman and Robin. Two-Face was sub-par (I wish Billy Dee Williams had a chance) Mr Freeze and Bane were silly.

From the Nolan series - Joker, then Two-Face - and the rest are equally great.

  • Danny DeVito was a GREAT choice for Penguin.

  • LOL Danny DeVito as The Penguin! Who else would be able to play him?

  • Why is Penguin riding in a duck?

  • Sara94Lee took over the comment section!

  • why did pengiun kill that fat clown?

  • @danfifepsu The Fat Clown was objecting to Penguin's plan, and clearly wouldn't go along with it. By killing the Fat Clown, Penguin made an example of him, ensuring that none of his other henchmen would dare raise similar objections to the plan.

  • @Adamguy2003 why would PEngiun object!?

  • Dammit i feel bad for that fat clown at 1:19... He seems like such a chill, normal henchman guy.

  • I messed it up

  • Danny is the best put him and bale at it Batman 4 with Dr. Freeze that would be crazy because " I AM NOT AN OSWALD CALL ME PENGUIN I AM NOT AN HUMAN I'M AN AM ANIMAL, NOW CRANK UP THE A/C AND BRING ME THE LIST"

  • Does anyone find the Penguin...

    A little *ahem*

    Tasty?

  • I forgot the

    *BANG!!*

    ;-3

  • Urr Penguin? killing sleeping children, isnt that a little

    Urgh...

    No! Itsa lot!

    Uaghh...

  • danny devito is and will always be the penguin

  • @MrBigmouth15 Not sure how he'd take that

  • @Sara94Lee jajaja that comment just made my day

  • Thats a pimpen boat!!!!!!!!!XD!!!!!!!!!

  • @zorgulon11 Itsa DUCK !!!!!!

  • Goddamit, Frank!

  • And my name is not Penguin its Oswald Cobblepot

    Clown: Great Speech Oswald

And my name is not Oswald its Penguin Lol

  • @Kevbro180 I am not a HUMAN BEINGG I AM AN ANIMAL! COLD BLOODED! CRANK THE AC WHERE ARE MY LISTS BRING ME THE NAMES

  • @Sara94Lee Lolz that part always crack me up

  • @Kevbro180 Hahaha

  • Is that Dick Morris the former democrat turned warmonger neo-con for fox news?

The credits say Danny Devito, pretty sure thats Dick Morris though or at least his twin brother.

  • saronjic

  • Ce ne fut pas le meilleur film de la série. De valeur, le pingouin était mon personnage préféré

  • that....is the sexiest.....boat....eva....

  • WHERES THE RUM HAM!!!!!!!!!?!?!?

  • I prefer this one over the original. I liked how dark they took it.

  • @Johnlindsey289:

Yeah that version was cool too.

  • my name is not oswald!!! it's DR. MANTIS TOBOGGAN!!

  • illuminati on right eye 1:20

  • @ripppking No, that's just a red triangle.

  • @DJBRON3 idiot....

  • @ripppking Isn't the Illuminati Symbol a triangle with an eye at the top?

I only see a triangle, no eye. Stop trying to bring Illuminati into everything.

  • @DJBRON3 lol, common sence, the triangle is on the eye for a reason...

  • @ripppking Common *sense? If they were trying to reference Illuminati, wouldn't the triangle be below the eye, instead of above? And it is quite common for shapes to be displayed on clowns, especially in the eye region.

Please think things over before you say them.

  • @DJBRON3 u do make a point where the eye is to down below on the triangle but if they put the triangle to fit the eye the pyramid wont look right. and plus sometimes the horus eye is in the middle or all the way on top

  • @ripppking Yes, but in this case I don't see no eye in the middle or the top.

And if you try to say the actor's eye represents the Horus Eye that would be stupid since his eye is at the bottom of the triangle. I highly suggest you think these things through before looking like a 13 year old idiot next time.

  • @DJBRON3 i think the idiot here is you because it doesnt matter were the fucking eye is suppose to be in the middle or top and it doesnt need to me any specificly and if u think the actors eye isnt the horus eye then thats just another reason ur an idiot

  • @ripppking Then how the fuck is it an Illuminati symbol when it's just a fucking triangle? So what? If there's an eye on the bottom left of the triangle it's the Illuminati then? Well I assumed you were going to say that the Horus Eye is because it seems you're just pulling random bullshit out of your ass just to try to say, "LOL OMG LOOK THERE'S A TRIANGLE ON THAT DUDES EYE IT MUST BE ILLUMINATI!!!1111oneoneone".

And don't call me an idiot when you have shit grammar, thank you.

  • @ripppking And last time I checked it's a Illuminati symbol if there's a distinctive eye either at the top of the triangle, or at the middle of it.

  • I have always wondered why the other members simply dont just kill their boss, in situations like this....

  • Nothing can ever touch DeVito's portrayal of the Penguin. Simultaneously grotesque and tragic, every other incarnation of the character pales in comparison...

  • @palpatine17

What about TAS's Penguin? a fusion of both Devito and comic Penguin

  • @palpatine17 He IS pretty fanfuckingtastic my friend ;)

  • 'I'M NOT A HUMAN BEING, I AM AN ANIMAL!!!' xD

  • im sorry i get tim burton had a vision and what not, but penguin was too weird he ruined the movie. They shoulda made it more about batman and catwoman. i could have given two shits about penguin the entire movie.

  • @BamesJonifer

ok, ill humor you, how was he too weird?

  • @kar12894 he bit someones nose off, it was a good performance no doubt, but i just couldnt connect with him or get interested in him like i could with Cat Woman or the Joker or even Max Shrek

  • @BamesJonifer I love that scene

  • Lyndsey "The Penguin" Dalton

  • after watching so much always sunny i find this clip completely hilarious

  • am i the only one who gets sad whenever he sees the expression on the clown who ask "killing sleeping children, isnt that a little..." poor guy

  • @ djdanno13 lol Jewish? The size of the nose could have given that away

  • "Eh, Penguin, the first born child?..... isn't that a little..... Jewish?"

Or at least that's what I thought he was going to say.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh man, I forgot Danny Devito played the Penguin, hes so awesome!

  • haha! 1:31

  • I can't stop picturing Frank Reynolds

  • (The Penguin exits his duck vehicle)

"What the s**t is going on around here?"

  • This entire movie was entire recreation of what happens when Tim Burton has a a fucking nightmare

  • frank from its always sunny

  • The mortician did a great job with his make up.

  • Brilliant move by Burton to make Penguin deformed,Penguin would have been a very boring character if they had him like he is in Arkham city

  • De Vito was great!

  • such a great performance of de vito :D

  • bang no its a lot i still laugh at that part

  • What's with Batman villains and watery graves?

  • @Warriorfan123 His parents threw him into a river when he was an infant.

  • @Shenorai Ohh Gotcha. Sorry it's just the Riddler said something about a watery grave too.

  • @Warriorfan123 God Jim Carrey as The Riddler XD

  • danny devito= Badass Penguin!

I think he's alot like Heath Ledger's Joker, more menacing and twisted.

  • My name is not Oswald, it's Penguin. I am not a human being, I am an animal, cold blooded, crank the AC!! Crank the AC??? Dont cold blooded animals need heat?

  • whooooooooo the penguin! i cant believe what they've done to him in arkham city though....He has no BEAK D:

  • Danny DeVito is one of the greatest individuals of all time. I am not saying this with any emotion, I am just stating a fact.

  • Good god, can you imagine him as a baby?

  • Haha, this is a good movie, things like this are pretty messed up, especially compared to the later two films.

  • NO, IT'S A LOT!

  • I loved the reverse rotation of the classic Elephant Man "I am not an ANIMAL!!!" speech.

  • what age rating was this movie, it makes everyone who likes watching the more modern Batman films look like pussies?????!!!

  • He is one ugly motha fucka

  • @SteezyArtzz

    Yes he is xD

  • @SteezyArtzz Really?

  • @nlangella1 This is far better than Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

  • @TheTesseract123 You're an ignorant cunt. Burton delivered the perfect comic book Batman movie. He was the first to ever re-create and re-model the Batman character into a dark setting with a dark story. There would be no Nolan's Dark Knight, if there was no Burton.

  • do pinguins have nuts?

  • LOL damn this film is soo freakin funny. Oh btw, why is cobblepots soo damn short in this film?

  • @gamefreak1000000 Because he's a short character. He's called the Penguin after all. That's like asking why Mr. Freeze is always seen around icebergs and cold environments.

  • @aidenmccloskey Well I already know why he hangs around cold areas. You can thank Arkham City for that.

  • Comment removed

  • @gamefreak1000000 Devito is a short actor :)

  • So this was Charlie's inspiration for Dayman. lol

  • You gotta pay the troll toll if you want to get in the boys hole.

  • CRANK THE AC!

  • Frank what the fuck are you doing there in the sewer?Don't tell me you both with Charlie searching for clothes :D

  • @nlangella1 go watch Transformers

  • that guy looks like frank reynolds...lol his actor was prolly inspired by the penguin..

  • @screeem lol I see what you did there

  • @screeem Funny Danny DeVito stills spends a lot of time in the sewer fishing for denim

  • This is pretty much personifies how evil abortion is.

  • @GregariousGorilla what has abortion to do with any of this?

  • @probot15 Penguin wanted to drown Gothams first born sons and then the whole of the city's children? Haha it links ever so slightly!

  • Danny Devito was too good as the Penguin. Too vile, too evil, too disgusting!! He was hard to watch.

  • looks like ron jeremy

  • @nlangella1 Demented as hell! And that's exactly why I love it. Since when is Gotham City not demented?

  • @nlangella1 you think this is worse than batman & robin?

  • *I like this*

  • @WILDSUNSURFER

What do you think of the animated movies and animated Batman show?

  • Devito was great as Penguin but i still think Burgess Merideth and Paul Williams are the best Penguins

  • @Johnlindsey289 I thought Devito nailed the character perfectly myself. Burgess Meredith's Penguin was good but just a little too campy for my taste. I prefer the darker, more freakish approach to the Penguin that Burton took in this film.

  • @TheAltair4

What did you think of Paul Williams as Penguin on the animated series?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Paul Williams was okay as the animated Penguin i guess but it's really not how i imagine the character to sound myself.

  • @TheAltair4

TAS's version resembles as a combo of both the comic version and this version with a hint of Merideth in it, when TAS was in production in 1990 and 1991 the animators were forced to base Selina/Catwoman and Penguin from this version. Then in the 97 till 99 revamps Selina/Catwoman and Penguin got reverted back to their original intended selves. Penguin looked more like a gentleman you see a cigrette ad and Selina like Natasajja Kinski.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I know but i still find DeVito's Penguin to be a lot more interesting and menacing than the original more suave and sophisticated gangster type character that Burgess Meredith portrayed.

  • pay the troll toll

  • Crank the AC!!!!!!!

  • his plan is well understood why did panguin's parents got rid of him being a freak? well who are they to judge

  • @miyagisan2012: After comparing the two, I noticed that Tim Burton and Danny DeVito actually paid homage to Burgess Meredith. Not only do they raise their voice and speak in a gravelly and somewhat raunchy/"growly" tone, but they both run for Gotham Mayor and both of their campaigns involve playing audio over a sound system. It's just the with Burgess, it's funny, whereas with Danny, it's shocking and tragic.

  • @KingdomHeartsBrawler

    What about Paul Williams?

  • I never noticed before but does the fat clown he shoots kick a penguin on his way into the sewer?

  • Then he should put the babies back in the trash since they don't belong to him

  • God I'm so happy Nolan's not touching the Penguin character. Let's be honest; a realistic take on Penguin would be no more special than The Falcone or the Marooni characters from Begins and Dark Knight respectfully. Devito breathed a whole new life into the Penguin that I feel can never be topped just like Michelle Pfieffer did for Catwoman.

  • @TheInstantClassic1

Nolan's movies are a different universe

  • @TheInstantClassic1 Nolan's depiction of Falcone was pretty well done IMO. Maroni on the other hand? Not so much. Two-Face could have been depicted a little better too.

  • disturbed

  • fucking great movie

  • "Um, killing children? Isn't that a little..."

    BANG!

    "NO, IT'S A LOT!"

  • @warguy403 well yea but jokers goal there was to get everyone out of the hospital so he could have harvey dent to himself, penguins plan while not as elaborate kinda is crueler in perspective

  • @chinileguas blowing up a hospital? I don't think so

  • Why... THE FUCK... does this come up when I search for "Penguin cuddle"?

  • hes much more threatening than heath ledger, kill sleeping children :O

  • "Tonight, while their parents party, they'll be dreaming away in their safe cribs, their soft beds. And we will snatch them, drag them into the sewer, and toss them into a deep, dark, watery grave!"

Wow. Reminds me of the Pharaoh killing the first-born Hebrew babies in the beginning of the Book of Exodus in the Bible.

This is a great movie, of course. :)

  • @MusicTributeVideo Yeah, he tossed the babies to the crocodiles.

Interesting observation there, why didn't I think of that?

  • @MusicTributeVideo Since this took place around Christmas time, I always thought it was more comparable to King Herod sending his minions to take the first-born children of Israel and kill them.

  • Ever noticed? He looks like Tiny Tim...

  • Frank really makes less sense every day

  • penguins are warmbloded animals if im not mistaken...

  • @jdcontrol Yeah, penguins are birds, which are very warm-blooded.

  • THEY DREW FIRSSSSST BLOOOOOD!

  • Thats fat clown found out the hard way that u dont talk out of Line when Penguin says an order lol..

  • 0:22 Wow! He really sees himself as a animal and to me that`s sad. :(

  • I can't believe that's Danny DeVito...

  • Best villians in Batman Movies to date-

    Heath Ledger Joker

    Jim Carry Riddler

    Danny Devito Penguin

  • @Buradori0 Agreed.

  • @Buradori0 Well, I agree about the Heath Ledger Joker & Danny DeVito Penguin. Jim Carrey did a good job, but he was held back by a poor script, IMO. I also really liked Liam Neeson's Ra's Al Ghul.

  • @catholicgamer99 Jim Carrey? A good job?! WTF! Do you know anything about the real riddler character? He actually did fucking terrible.

  • @MarcusKiner As I said, he was held back by a horrible script. It was the director's fault, not Carrey's.

  • @catholicgamer99 He's too over the top to be a good actor.

  • @catholicgamer99 And Hollywood's fault. They fired Burton and decided on hiring Schumacher because they wanted it to appeal to a family audience.

  • @Buradori0

What do you think of Mark Hamil as Joker?

  • @Buradori0 Carrey's Riddler was bad. It was more or less just Jim Carrey playing Jim Carrey.

  • @aidenmccloskey Yeah, well he was hilarious and made me laugh the whole film. Besides, Two-Face was actually done pretty right in that film, right? Riddler in Dark Knight was a little too psychotic IMO, but he definitely wasn't that bad. He just needed less purple and more green. Heh, then again, Hollywood has no clue how to make movies, so who am I kidding?

  • @aidenmccloskey I disagree with that, in my opinion i found him a dangerous yet HILARIOUS villain

  • @aidenmccloskey I wonder what he'd be like playing Joker though...

  • Tim Burton did a great job on this movie

  • 1:23 bye bye chubby clown

  • Dick Cheney returns from inspecting the troops at Fort Bragg

  • danny devito was a great pick.but the penguin was already mayor of gotham city,he was not a freak, not insane, and definitely never killed anyone himself.he was a greedy, corrupt politician.he was short and stubby,a bit fat in the midsection, and always hired people to do things for him.if you upset him,he would set you up,not kill you.and he was not a coldblooded murderer.just a coldblooded business politician.and no,he did not look like a penguin,or have flippers on his hands.he was a short human.

  • @MeTaLdUdE02 This is one of those situations where the movie adaption did things better than the original comics. In the comics The Penguin is just a generic mobster like Falcone from Batman Begins; DeVito made The Penguin his own.

  • @FinalMoon i dont have a problem with changing the characters up a bit.like they did with kingpin in daredevil.making him a black gangster because most gangsters were in fact black.the way they did it in here with penguin is too cheesy.updating them to modern times isnt bad,but turning them into freaks and deviating away from their motives and image that was in the comic book takes away their reason of what they are in my opinion.just like spiderman 3.the sandman didnt kill ben.a mugger did.

  • @MeTaLdUdE02

What did you think of Paul Willaims on Batman The animated series and Merideth on Batman 1966?

  • @Johnlindsey289 merredith was a great pick for penguin at the time. he had the look and could pull off the corrupt personality. i'm sure paul williams was a good cast in the animated series, but i barely remember the animated series penguin.

  • @MeTaLdUdE02 Most gangsters are not 'in fact black.' That's a terrible stereotype. First of all, you have the American Mafia (The Italians) and then you have the Jewish Mafia (the first type of Mafioso.) The Jews came before the Italians and then the Blacks came after them. I'd associate the Italians with Gangsters before ever associating Blacks.

  • @aidenmccloskey today, most gangs you hear about are black gangs. kingpin being a black guy isn't a shock. because when daredevil came out, all you heard about was the mafia. in today's stereotype, it's black gangs.

  • @FinalMoon I agree.

  • @MeTaLdUdE02 Yeah they changed a lot. If you seen the behind the scenes videos they gave some light on why this was made. Simply put he was too boring and as a villain to clean cut for them. He was normal, a corrupt politician. He had no higher motives than power and would of made a boring movie for kids and fans alike if batman would fight corrupt politicians who sent goons after him. So Tim reinvented him.

  • @scrap222666 i can understand that. a politician would be too complex for a child to grasp. i used to enjoy the movie when i was a kid, but i ended up disliking it later on for the same reasons why i liked it in the first place. of course, that was after i went into the characters of comic books.

  • I want the Penguin's Duck to drive around in

  • If I lived in Gotham, I'd be killed :/ haha
