I've always like the way Lemmy does not stand nonsense.
I saw Motorhead at Donington in '86, Lemmy laying it on the line to the bottle throwers: "OK you sons of bitches, one more piece of shit lands up here I'm fucking going"
And a year later at the St David's Hall: "Some shithead out there just spat at me for entertaining him. If you'd like to come up here I'll smack you in the fucking mouth pal! Fuck you, you ignorant shit!"
Pete Gill was pretty great. The studio tracks with him are RAUCOUS... especially the first four on No Remorse; Locomotive, Snaggletooth, Killed, Steal. They always blow me away. In my opinion there is NO bad Motorhead lineup.
On second thought, I guess I DO prefer them as a three piece. Like right now, or in the Fast Eddie days. But whatever, they ARE the greatest, truest RAWK BAND ever. A miracle of metallic mayhem. Amen.
At 06.17 , "This is a new one...it's called Mean..Machine...". I always thought this was THE pivotal rock song, at least of what we used to call in our days the 'hard rock' branche.
I love the Lemster, alias 'Mean Machine', to pieces. He is well read and intelligent. He hates the guts out of TV too, and New 'Labour'.
hmmm well makes sense is very Lem is very well read, still i think i could be meant to be enterpreted the way i did, double entredres and that. and women still are socrerers. magical cock teases that is!
Did you know (yeah, surely) that he has a song "I'm your witch doctor"? He also's into things with Vikings, Walhalla, read lyrics of Orgasmatron album, it's full of it. But better still, listen to it! Bye.
How was it? Tell me, 'cos I couldn't find anything about it in the papers, etc. I didn't go, 'cos I rather "live forever"... (or my ears anyway, dig).
Me and my friend was there! One to show my daughters 22 yrs on, as I can be seen head banging with another girl on Mean Machine. There was Magnum, MadameX and Lords of the New Church on aswell (I think). Thanks ever so for such a brill look at the (my) past
Well funny cos when I look at yer channel I see Shakespeare, Laurence Olivier. Great actor of course, 'though I have a huge love for Richard Burton as a dramatist. I liked Olivier endlessly as the 'Angel of Death' in Marathon Man.
Strange thing is, I always thought that Motorhead and the Lemster had very much to do with pure Britishness and Shakespeare, but I cannot pin it down what it is. Ain't a literary scholar...
I've been looking for this for ages - thanks for posting. A True Lemmy Classic! I remeber it on TV back in 1985 when metal and rock in general weren't so hip as it is now!
Will be sorely missed Wurzel.R.I.P.

Awesome line-up! Lemmy-Eddie-Philthy was the best, but the one with Pete Gill comes second! Every single track they recorded is a classic!
NewMount68 2 years ago
Saw them live on the Orgasmatron tour and they literally destroyed the venue. Best lineup of the band I ever saw play.

@Nordland45 in my opinion, the best lineup is : Dee , lemmy and Phill...

They dressed like this for this performance because Channel 4 told them to dress as 'heavy metal' as possible, so they did it to take the piss :P

Great, the Lemster eh. He's at the very origin of head banging alltogether.
Not surprising, right?

your magical circle ain't where its at??? what part of the female anatomy could of lemmy been refering to???
VictimofAtkins 4 years ago
It refers just to the witch-theory. That circle would be the fysiological effect of girls on men... you get it? It's not an anatomical place.
In ancient civilisations MEN thought that women were sorcerers 'cos of their power to ignite erections from a distance...
