  • I'm a February baby, and I love this song!

  • this movie + the music is just purely amazing. all of my friends are like, what is Rigoletto? im like... your missin out. <3 haha

  • Nowadays they would never make a movie about a good rich guy who people thought was bad but was actually good, and helping people, because we as a society have come to the enlightened point where we know all rich people are evil and just abusing the poor.

  • i love this song! ok, i love this movie in general!

  • aww well that was Embarrassing..for her. But i love this song his tone is amazing

  • Bella means beautiful in Italian, French, Spanish and in Portuguese its bela and

  • One thing wrong, they said its mostly in Italian well it's French!!!!!! Want to know how I know? Well bella means beautiful in french!

Don't get me wrong I love this song and the movie over all else but I don't like when people tell the public mistakes.

  • @kayleegirl1967 uhh...bella means beautiful in Italian as well...soo you are incorrect

  • @kayleegirl1967 LOL@ Your public noobfail.

    Gtfo.

  • @kayleegirl1967 Just because one thing means one thing in French doesn't mean it can't mean the same in Italian, LOL. Next time you go blasting your "knowledge" at people about "public mistakes... Check your facts first... Otherwise you look like an idiot.

  • @kayleegirl1967 I don't exactly mind know-it-alls, but don't be arrogant about it (especially when you're incorrect). ;)

  • June baby. I guess all of you April children are dreaming about me.

  • My favorite song of the whole movie..... It's a beautiful song and his voice is amazying.

  • Dislikes! O_o Those people must have been born in March or something. We all can't be April babies!

  • i'll be honest here... i thought the first verse was in french

  • I'm a senoir in highschool and i cry everytime i hear this song because when I was in kindergarden we would watch this movie everyday during nap time and at our graduation cermony when my teachers put together a slide show of pictures from throughout the year it was to this song and that was 12 years ago... Rigoletto will always bring back sweet wonderful innocent memories!

  • i actually think its a mix of a tender Phantom of the Opera and Beauty and the Beast. it also teaches a wonderful moral, to never judge someone by what they are, but who they are inside.

  • does anyone have any ideas on how to get the musical Score for this for maybe Piano there are a few songs i'd use from this movie for musical auditions for sure.

  • One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies, yet I never can find it. Thank you for posting this with lyrics! :)

  • Thanks for the translation from Italian. This song is beautiful in its melody alone, let alone with the actor who sand it. The Italian lyrics add a lot. Thanks for posting those in the comment. Simply beautiful. And I do think there is a 'magic' to words. I hope this can be a good magic instead of a bad magic. Words weren't made for that. :)

  • @kleotide I know:) my name IS Bonnie, and I've studied it extensively. However you didn't answer the question:) Bonnie translated into French is Belle. :)

  • Does anyone know the French translation of the name Bonnie? ;)

  • @batb844 Bonnie \b(on)-nie\ as a girl's name is pronounced BAHN-ee. It is of Scottish origin, and the meaning of Bonnie is "fine, attractive, pretty". From the Scottish word "bonnie" and also diminutive of the French word "bonne", meaning "good".

  • @batb844 we care because...?

  • Does anybody know where I can find the sheet music for this?

  • @ImJustSayin2014 the company that produced this movie is Feature Films for Families. You can go to Familytv.com and buy the music book of all of their songs in their movies.

  • I am fifteen and every single one of my friends thinks its odd that i love this. The truth is this THE GREATEST movie i have ever seen. No other movie can evoke the feelings that well up inside of you when you see this. I was actually looking for this movie just today and couldnt find it so i went hear. This is so not like beauty and the beast or the phantom of the opera. They both were good in there own respects but this movie is its own it cant be compared to any other movie.

  • @Zangooseandseviper I agree in every way man. I myself am Sixteen, and I beleive people need to learn that this is real music.

  • Thank you.....Thank you for posting all these video's. Rigoletto is the very reason I can truely appreitiate music. I heard it for the first time in sixth grade.........And I will be truthful, it made me cry. Before I heard "The Curse" or ANY song from Rigoletto I thought the most beautiful song ever made was Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. That was when I was 11. I'm now 16, and the movie STILL makes me cry. Especially "The Curse". Once again, thank you.

  • is it jus me or does this song jus make ya wanna cry? :')

  • look up the italian translation, it's beautiful <3

  • I can play this on the piano! I love it! Nice job with all the words... I've been wanting to learn Italian since I was five!

  • I can relate to Rigoletto a little too well unfortunately, but this movie and the phantom of the opera are two of my favs for sure!

  • All I can say is I love you!!!!!

  • Rigoletto was the reason I fell in love with opera. I first watched this on video from Feature Films For Families and I was blown away. Too many people have this preconceived notion that opera is long, boring and incomprehensible. That's sad.

  • This movie is a mix of beauty and the beast and phantom of the opera and I love every minute of it! I wish there were more movies like this now that I have a child.

  • @SunshineStage I was thinking the same thing! I could hear Andrea Bocelli's voice singing this for sure :)

  • @SunshineStage Paur is classically trained as well I think he's rather good

  • LOVED THIS FILM WAS I WAS A CHILD!!! :')

I really believe that the Love of G-d is behind this music.

  • Awesome translation, that song means so much more to me now.

  • i cry during the whole movie cuz i new wat was going to happen.

  • I wish i could sing this but it is to soft for me to go that low (i'm soprano if your wondering) it is such a beautiful magic song, i love it

  • @sydnisan so am I, sing it up in your range! It goes up to a high F# which shouldn't be too high for a soprano.

  • Best song ever!

  • very sweet...:D

  • Here are the meanings for the italian words: Dolce Amor Figlitetta Divin Sei un fiore in gemma Sbocciando vicin Or in English: Sweet Little Love Little Daughter Divine You're a budding flower Whose blossoming is near Second: Aprile sei tu Ma sogni di giun E ogni giorno passando T'inbellezza de piu English: You are April But you dream of June And every passing day Beauty grows from inside of you Hope this helps!
  • i love this song cause it reminds me of when i was a kid watching this ---- i loved this movie sooo much --- it brings back good memorys

  • This song brings tears to my eyes every time I listen; even if I don't know half of the words because they're in italian

  • @sydnisan After he sings each verse, he repeats it in english. It's not an exact translation, but it's pretty close and he makes it poetic.

  • that's cool to see the translation!

  • I met Bonnie (:

    She's the sweetest lady!

Grew up loving thise movie, I always will!

  • I think it's really sad that so few people.. erm, so few people that I know of, have seen this movie. It's so amazing :)

  • @neltod soooooo ture i only know about it because my teacher showed it at school

  • @102yourmom Mine too!!! Gosh that was like 15 years ago, too. One day I just HAD to see it so.. click click click, hello ebay! :)

  • his voice! I LOVE IT!!!! Its so warm and round and noble, wonderful!

  • i love this song my name is april

  • wish so badly that someone had a way to watch the movie

  • i LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!! GOOD JOB!!!!

  • i mean movie:)

  • I Love this move and the songs are beautiful

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I have always loved this story and the movie. Thank so much from me and my family.

  • i actually read an old fan review of this and it was all negitive, but it was an adult. i remember they said that it had bad acting and the script could have been written better, and it had nothing to do with the actual play...all i could think of when i was reading it was that as i child i loved (and i still do) this movie and all its magic, ive been looking so long for this. this movie awakened in me this type of music.

  • I love how this movie is like a sweeter, more innocent version of "the phantom of the opera"

it is filled with a child-like longing for all things pure, right, and beautiful. Like Magic:)

  • @lilscottishlassxoxo if feels like a mix of Phantom of the Opera and Beauty and the Beast

  • @TheBillieJean1234 . its actually based off of Beauty and the Beast. And very much like Phantom lol

  • @TheBillieJean1234 Exactly my thought, and all my favs

  • @TheBillieJean1234 hahaha exactly is

  • I am.....in love with this song!!!!!!

I'm a singer and a dancer....and I can't decide whether I'd want to dance to this, or sing it! so beautiful:)

  • Dang you! Stop making me cry! =') All these are getting to me.... and I'M A GUY! xD

  • I love you.

I could never find the (looks at the text) Italian lyrics.

    at least it looks Italian.

Italian is hard to sing... me=random.

  • Thanks for posting this...this is a great song! I'm adding it to my agenda to learn this upcoming semester :-D

  • thankies ^_^ i sing it in the higher octive and it gets difficult bacause it changes lol thanks!

  • Does anyone know what key this is in ?

  • I think this is my favorite song from this movie. It has such a beautiful message. Thanks for sharing this. ; )

  • Aw this makes me think about the lyrics and i can actually understand what it means. "Dear april child, still dreaming of june" Like a girl sees beauty in another person and wishes to be beautiful as well, but just doesnt notice their own inner beauty. It seems like a song a father could sing.

  • oh so beautifull :) im in love with the movie all over again

  • The movie has cinematic failings, but for some reason those frailties do not impede the artistry of the work. I would watch this movie multiple times over. Its message speaks to people with sublimity.

  • Very true. I was introduced to this at the age of five, my father worked for Feature Films For Families. I sang the song, "The Melody Within" at a school talent show at the end of my first year, First Grade, solely off memory. I didn't watch it... For 6 or so years. I just saw it yesterday, and I understand it truly for the first time. I cried for so long. My love has been reignited for this feature.

  • I love this song! A kid at my sang this song at my school's talent show one year. I think everyone was crying by the time he was done singing.

  • I love the line after this, where the men are wondering about the change coming through the town, and the father says "Makes me wonder what's wrong." and his son replies "Makes me wonder what's right."

  • this song reminds me of the movie and makes me want to cry. it's so beautiful!

  • this is deffinatly my favorite movie.

its the perfect balance between the phantom of the opera and beauty and the beast :3

  • more of the beauty and the beast but she doesnt falls inlove with him

  • yeah it is more beauty and the beast but there is phantom in it as well :3

    i love it :DD

  • how is there phantom in it there really nothing that has to do with it with this story. i watch phantom like everyday cuz i love it so much lol

  • phantom similarity- an older man with a deformed face teaches a young girl to sing beautifully. that's about it. =)

  • Yeah, but Ribaldi's deformity isn't that bad (compared to Leroux's version of the Phantom) and Erik was borderline psychotic.

Still, yes, I get what you mean! :D I noticed the similarity when I checked out "Rigoletto" so many years later. X)

  • I LOVED this movie as a child and I still remember trying to sing this as a kid! Wow this is a classic! I should rewatch the movie, I have not seen it in years! No one ever knows what I am talking about when I say I want to see it... One sales lady laughed at me when I said I wanted to see this... how rude!

  • aww i used to love this movie & song when i was little. i havent seen it for like 6 years or so but just a few minutes ago i was just sitting and this song popped in my head. idk from where lol, but im glad it did! thanks for posting

  • I second that!!!

  • is there any dvd copies of this movie out? i know it's a classic, and i love it so much

  • yah, the website of feature films for families sells 'em

  • Ha! I JUST saw this movie again (found it in my VHS stash) and LOVED this song! Thanks SO much for posting this! I love his voice and the song :)

  • Happened to me last week. My grandma was selling it on eBay, but she finally took it off. *evil grin*

  • this movie inspired me to start singing

and it turns out i'm not half bad so now i sing the songs from this movie every day

  • i sang this song for a contest in high school. I won first place, and I went to state and received a 2nd.

  • have a video? I'd love to see it.

  • i just watched it today and i really liked it sad yet happy in a special way

  • I was obsessed with this movie when I was a little kid. XD Now that I look back on it, I didn't understand how sweet it really was until now. c':

  • Such a touching song.

  • Wow... his singing never fails to give me goosebumps!! I adore this movie! It's so charming, and the music is very well done.

  • Thank you so much for pputtin these on here!!! This is my absolute favorite movie ever!!!

  • Such a WONDERFUL film! Kurt Bestor is an AWESOME composor!!! It seems that the Feature Films for Familys dont get enough credit! (like Seasons of the Heart)

  • His name is JOSEPH Paur.... are you SURE he's your cousin??

  • we always call him joey. its like calling your family member 'ronald' instead of ron, ya know? but yes i swear up and down he is my second cousin on my dad's side.

  • welp.. he's hot!!!

  • My dad's cousin played Ribaldi. Joey Paur is either my second or third cousin, I can't remember. And no, it's not a lie. I've seen him and met him. Wonderful singing voice.

  • how awesome!! this movie was one of my favorites growing up -- it honestly had a pivotal influence on my childhood haha!

  • Can you get me an autograph? No i'm just kidding but he has an incredible voice!!!

  • Haha im not sure if i can get an autograph but yes he has a wonderful voice. in the part of the movie where he sings 'the curse', when he goes on that high note aria (the long high note) he looks like the spitting image of my grandma

  • Comment removed

  • hey...that means we're related. He's my Great-Uncle...his brother Dave is my Grandpa on my mom's side

  • I totally agree!!! the Italian phrasing only helps the beauty!

  • I met him and shook his hand and everything it was totally cool

  • Lucky!!! His voice is pure heaven!! haha my voice teacher actually had me study "The Curse" she said it was a perfect piece. And he sings so wonderfully.

  • Does anyone know where I might get sheet music for this song? I would really like to know.

  • I went on to the feature films for families website and thats where i got it from.... so check that out?

  • Does anyone else feel old when they hear this song?? I'm only 18, but this song makes me feel ancient for some reason...

  • This is my absolute favorite song from the movie! i love, love, love it! thanks for posting!!!

  • this is what really got me onto things like Josh Groban and Haley Westenra. I've always loved this movie and this is one of my favorite songs from it. so thank you for interpreting it for those who don't know Italian, like myself.

  • Really goood job! I love the songs from this movie. Only one comment on the translation, though. I'm pretty sure that "T'inbellezza di piu" means "You grow more beautiful" rather than "Beauty grows from within you." I only took one semester of Italian, but I am 95% sure on that line. Good job overall though! Thanks for putting it up!

  • If i am correct, not putting you down or anything, but the cd has the lyrics and I think that they put down "Beauty grows from within you." that is why s/he wrote them that way. anyway, great song!

  • Oh, that makes sense... perhaps that's the basic meaning rather than literal translation, since "di piu" means "more" ... according to babel fish, anyhow... sorry I'm far too argumentative! Lovely song!

  • I love this song! Thanks for posting the lyrics!

  • Italian is my favorite of the 5 romance languages. It is so awsome in music.

  • It is really beautiful..... I prefer French to Italian. But Italian Is almost as good!!

  • I got my movie and soundtrack from feature films for families, don't know if they're still around or not. good luck :)

  • yea they are i love this video but they wont stop calling me..it gets kinda annoying..lol

  • can someone send me a link or place where i can watch rigoletto? when i search rigoletto i keep finding rigollet the opra one or something i want to watch it so much

  • Why don't you search "Rigoletto the Movie?" Ever think of that?

  • vocal are you from Maine, US?

  • I think this song would be a great lulaby.

  • OMG THIS SONG MAKES ME CRY... :( all these songs make me cry.... I love Rigoletto so much... thanks for posting the songs...

  • Does anyone know the name of the guy who sings this song?? i totally love it!

  • Joseph Paur

  • Trying cleaning out your cookies cache. If that doesn't work... umh... download it?

  • I am so happy to see this. I was thinking of this soundtrak as I was listening to other music today and I thought I would not be able to here any of it. I thought to try youtube and here it is. Thank you so much for posting this great music.

  • Oh my goodness, I love this song to bits and pieces, as well as just about the rest of the soundtrack for Rigoletto... Thank you so much for posting, especially with the translations and everything!

  • Know where to find the translation of the words in lyrics

  • I know that the translation is in the lyrics page in the case of the c.d. of the music... message me a reminder, and I'll try to find time to send them to you. :)

  • i love this movie
