I wouldn't go as far as 2 say 80% of acoustic performances r played with an electric bass...i agree wit the gemini dude that bands should use acoustic 2 keep the full acoustic...every1 has their own opinion on which acoustic or electric would sound better...i think acoustic basses jus have a bit thinner strings 2 it and the sound is it a bit different but not as much as compared 2 an electric guitar and acoustic guitar...that u can hear a big difference.

that is true, the bass strings are thinner on an acoustic to produce more of a sound where as on an electric, you have an amp. the strings are actually the other way on a normal 6-string guitar though. the strings actually get thicker, i can't explain that though.

I am a huge every fan, but I have a huge problem with this version, and that is that it is not an acoustic song. There is an electric bass being played and he could be playing an acoustic bass hence acoustic version. But still sounds amazing.
