I just can't believe it. We're only a week away from seeing the first FULL trailer of the Avatar movie and this spot looks so great! and there are still people who complain about... ethnicity?! Look. I actually worked on the movie, and got paid good, and got my 3 SAG waivers. This alone makes the movie great! haha! Thank goodness M Night chose to show racial diversity or I wouldn't of had a job. And I had fun...in "white town".
The Northern Water Tribe looks amazing, and actually goes far beyond what the show depicted them as. We really get the feeling that they are an advanced civilization, unlike their sister tribe in the south who live in tents.
This commercial was awesome, I can't wait for the full trailer! It looks like this movie really does have a strong chance at doing the source material justice, and I think M. Night is gonna deliver.

Yeah, in my opinion I think Katara should be dakrer but that's only because it'd be like the cartoon Katara but this is the movie version and I can accept it's difference

Never said I didn't accept the difference. She's white it the movie...it's not going to change...so I'll accept it and deal with it and go see the movie. But just because I accept it doesn't stop me wishing that they'd chosen a girl closer to what was displayed in the show. You have to admit...it would have made the movie a lot more authentic.

No no I was just simply stating my opinion. I'm not accusing anyone of being racist or anything of the like, and never in any of my statements did I say anyone was being racist. The girl playing her really is exceptionally beautiful, and I'm sure she's a very talented actress. I just personally feel that a Native or Inuit girl would have been better suited for the part. I even stated that was just my personal feeling.

No I'm not. I'm not saying white people shouldn't be considered for roles. I'm saying that whites shouldn't ALWAYS be the front runner considerations for main roles/heroes.
This is america, and it's not a white nation. It's a nation filled with many beautiful cultures and nationalities. How about we give other people besides white people a chance to portray themselves in big budget movies, as main characters?

I just can't believe it. We're only a week away from seeing the first FULL trailer of the Avatar movie and this spot looks so great! and there are still people who complain about... ethnicity?! (I'm really starting to hate this word). For god's sake, can't you just stop saying it over and over again? Just enjoy the spot, there's a live action bending there, there's Appa, there's Aang, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Suki and everyone! Is it so hard to forget about this racial thing?

Regardless of how special the effects are or how accurate (LOL) they follow the story the fact that they cast the wrong people for the wrong characters makes it lose authenticity points. Example fire nation is CLEARLY Asian (Chinese/Japanese) Zuko is a pasty Asian NOT an Indian boy. And Eskimos (water tribe) is not white town. This is going to be a train-wreck.

Look. I actually worked on the movie, and got paid good, and got my 3 SAG waivers. This alone makes the movie great! haha! Thank goodness M Night chose to show racial diversity or I wouldn't of had a job. And I had fun...in "white town".

The Northern Water Tribe looks amazing, and actually goes far beyond what the show depicted them as. We really get the feeling that they are an advanced civilization, unlike their sister tribe in the south who live in tents.

Or thei could have some sort of awesome armored benders with flamethrowing wrist tubes and a fuel-pack on their back, so when they shoot and bend the flames they have like, fire whip or some crazy thing like that.
