okay, so i built everything, works great (nice design btw..) but I have a question.... How do you get your mobs to keep falling all the time??? I'm in survival mode, found a dungeon.. and built all this around, but they don't fall if I stand at the collection area....I have to stand kinda close to the spawner for them to fall... which sort of makes it a pain in the ass lol... what gives?

@sean8604 Thats the mechanics of the game, you have to be close to a mob cage to activate it. This EXP farm was designed with a mob spawner in mind, there is a tutorial on how to build one on my channel :)

@barral69 Nevermind....I see a MOB spawner is not what I thought it was. I can drop a "Monster Spawner" with the Too many items MOD, but it only gives me pigs. I see a MOB spwner is just a giant room made for spawning the baddies like they normally do.

Yeah this does not work on SMP....Just built it myself (part of it, got the entire redstone loot area, and with 2 floors of the tower) Does not work unless u shoot them with arrows. Going to try to find a way around it now.

@ilikegaming No, the mob spawner deliberately stops spiders from spawning because they clog up the system.

i built this on survival multiplayer and nothing is spawning, me and my friend are sitting in front of the obsidian part, at the top og the chute we built a 16x16x16 room centered on the chute with no hole, lights, or glowstone, whats up

@Andonisusbb My mob spawner tutorial is coming later today, part of making a spawner in legit map involves eliminating other places the mobs can spawn, so the reason your not getting any mobs is because they are spawning elsewhere, and if you haven't put any water streams in your spawner, mobs are probably just sitting around in there

@Andonisusbb Don't worry it will work, the main problem is when you build in legit worlds you need to spend a lot of time lighting up the surface areas and caves where mobs can spawn, i would recommend downloading the map so u can see how efficient it is in creative mode on a flat map.

Skelotons and zombies don't have hitboxes in the legs in smp.

@Cackles4EVA Yes, but it would require more complex redstone, not explainable over text really. You should perhaps do some research on finding slimes, they are really helpful

it is pretty obvious what the redstone is doing, there are many good tutorial videos about redstone for beginners
