the fil is very nice but there is a moment in a room with a group of youg people that her cousin gets histerical and says that dostoievsky didn`t know anything about crime..that reality is a different thing..well it seems to me that that was the most stupid thing i have ever heard..it seems that philip claudel doesn`t understand the real role of good literature..is the same thing if i said that films are films and reality is something else...

Kristin's performance in this film was so fierce, honest and raw that it was really quite stunning. Best performance by an actress in any film that year...should have won an Academy Award but was not even nominated.

She was absolutely wonderful in this movie. Another movie that she was stunning in was Life As A House. The first movie I saw her in was Easy Virtue when she was the woman you loved to hate. Damn she's good!
