  • that is actually a by-pass line that feed the homes and businesses while the water main itself is shut down to be cleaned. That break was caused by a car or truck that ran over the by-pass (plastic 4" pipe ). shut down is easy, but takes some time for the standby crew to get out there.

  • free high powered car wash.

  • I know... Anything free is good during a recession, after all.

  • That's nothing major I used to fix stuff like that everyday without even being able to turn off the water. I looks hard, but the hardest part is digging around it and cleaning it. But I'm a bad motherfucker well at least I was when i was doing it.

  • Because I'm not zen, obviously.

  • Why didn't you just plug the hole with some gum instead of waiting 4 hours and getting all pissed off?

  • The last person that told me to get bent didnt have water for about 14 hours when his house wasnt even affected for more that about 2 hours so watch what ya say to contractors. that being said know you can get bent..

  • mains are fed from so many different directions. and on old systems valve boxes are set few and far between. and J Fletcher Creamer is not a water department they may have repaired the main but it should be up to the utility company to shut down the main. I am a mechanical contractor I Can uderstand your melt down but before you tell someone to go screw get your facts straight.

  • sounds like you are a little ticked off hear. just so you are aware that it is not the easiest thing to turn off a water main
