In my 7 years of Pokemon play I have only ran into a shiny once. A shiny magicarp in pearl. Unfortunately, I was 10 at the time and I traded it for a lv 100 rayquaza like an idiot.

i have been lucky with shines actually without having to look for em at all me and a friend through sheer luck got like 3 of them

i got me a golden caterpie which turnedinto a red metapid then into a multicolored butterfree which was awesome

and my friend got a shiny carvhanaah and i think a shiny tentacool its been years since i thought about it

The only shiny pokemon I have ever seen in my 600 hours of playing across 4 games was a freaking TRAINER POKEMON.

I don't recommend hatching one using the normal method like I did 'cause if you don't get lucky, it can take forever, unless you're up for a challenge.

@TheTheviper50 When hatching using the Masuda method, you'll need a foreign pokemon from the GTS or a foreign friend of a different language and breed it with the pokemon you've caught. You'll increase your odds of hatching a shiny pokemon to 1 in 2048. Good luck.

hey z33 I have a question.im not sure if this is where i should be asking but i am having trouble chaining.about a week ago i tried chain for the millionth time and it worked.i got 5 . i havent gotten one since that day, and my problem is that when my chain is in the mid 30s it breaks with the same pokemon. for example my 39 chain of sneasel broke, but the pokemon that broke the chain was also a sneasel. this has happened with many of my chains. please tell me why this is happening

@loldudex2 I think you're going into patches on the border or next to objects like trees and rocks. Make sure you go only into patches that's covered by grass on all sides and also on the 4th ring of patches. Hope that helps and good luck.

When it comes to finding 1 in 8192 on a current game, you just need to be patient and hunt alot. If you're SRing, you can try to hunt for a good ID# containing 00089, 33222, 23523, 61256, 44445, 32765 and stuff. Some shiny hunter's have found low #, full house, repeating, high, quads, and starting with 3 to be lucky. When hatching use the Masuda method. I wish you lots of luck.
