Now just imagine if Hope sticks with it as I'm sure she will -- do I see another Diana Krall in the making here? -- doubtless she'll have a CD out by the time she hits 16.
After listening in the background, I was shocked to see a little girl playing it. Wow. Good stuff. I like the slower tempo that the D part was done it best.
considering the age, WOW. Obviously by perfectionist's standards, room to grow.
Her instructor needs to alow her to embellish beyond the mechanical... Although you have to drill that into the player until it's 2nd nature so grace notes, etc aren't in need of concentration, so maybe she's still getting there... WOW, she's going to be AMAZING in 5 years.... She's amazing now.
Very well played, this only a suggestion to help with the quality of the music, she should probably play a little louder because I couldn't hear the bottom notes. Other than that, very very well played.
Simply incredible touch and musical maturity at this age. :-) I'll need to check out your more recent works!

The girl is amazing. Her staccato style denotes personality and her interpretation oozes musical maturity. Keep it up Hope!

This is great. I play many of Scott Joplin's pieces. This is one I am putting off because of the difficulty. Well played for someone this young!

Go to Hell Titanic,or should I say to the bottom of the Atlantic. There's nothing wrong with her tempo.I'd bet that you couldn't play Chopsticks.

@Titanic19127 What do you mean on a player piano? It was written for people to play on all sorts of pianos.

Just watch your tempo. I think it started to speed up, but that could've just been nervousness of performing - I do the same thing when I perform.

Easy Winners and the Cascades are the Joplin's hardest rags. A good performance.
thaibu 3 years ago 2
No, they aren't. I agree on Easy Winners' toughness, but Cascades is very easy compared to, for instance, the Maple Leaf.
