Good stuff dude. Personally, I identify as a secular humanist. What are your thoughts on that? Our philosophy's don't really sound that different, and they're certainly not opposed. One difference might be is that as a secular humanist I believe humans should examine themselves and adhere to a consequentialist ethical system, rather than a command-obey based one. So I guess I don't really advocate for a total embrace of carnal desire, at least to the extent that Lavey seems to advocate for.

don't look for religions to follow untill you know what you want for yourself. think long and hard about what you think is right and what you should put your faith in. then think about the religions out there and how well you respond to them, think of what you like about them and see if you can find something that has a little of everything you liked about the religions you looked into. just remember to keep an open mind and you don't have to limit yourself to any one thing

I don't fully understand why the would use the word satan in the first place though. Like I get the whole passion for life explanation but there are other terms that would spark less controversy and disputes with the other religions that have far more followers and is more widely known in terms of their beliefs. Actually, LaVeyan Satanism is about Satan as a symbol: Man's carnality. Anton really liked fictional characters, and he, as an atheist, named his religion after it. I personally think that anyone from any belief, nationality, religion or anything can achieve self-fulfillment and happiness. We don't depend on others to get out happiness and don't leech. I disagree that the term "ley vay" is to 'fragment', i think it is to only differentiate between symbolic satanists and theistic satanists. there are more symbolic satanists than thesitic satanists, but i wouldnt say that most are symbolic.

I don't fully understand why the would use the word satan in the first place though. Like I get the whole passion for life explanation but there are other terms that would spark less controversy and disputes with the other religions that have far more followers and is more widely known in terms of their beliefs. Actually, LaVeyan Satanism is about Satan as a symbol: Man's carnality. Anton really liked fictional characters, and he, as an atheist, named his religion after it. I personally think that anyone from any belief, nationality, religion or anything can achieve self-fulfillment and happiness. We don't depend on others to get out happiness and don't leech. I think a satanist's rule/law should be: sinning is subjective and should be treated as such (doing drugs is definitely not a sin for me, although many religions condemn using drugs)
btw, I don't know squad about satanism.. just a thought!

@dalbyonemanband I believe in sex. Done well, it can be a magical experience. Besides that, you can find magic everywhere, in nature, in life, in the eyes of the one you love... Don't really care about ceremonies and spells and all that stuff.

I basically describe Satanism as Atheism with balls. I used to live with a registered member of the CoS and she was a real bitch. Sort of turned me off from identifying myself outwardly as a Satanist. You know, the kind with good taste and ideals, but is very politically right wing at the same time and is somewhat a dittohead. A total Ayn Rand disciple. I think there's a difference between Hail Thyself and being a pompous ego-maniacal cunt.

Hmmm, this video has actually changed my conception about Satanism. I agree with this existentialistic strand of it, but what I was more or less confused of, was the magical part. And have you seen LeVay's Lion? God damn that things amazing!
