Got to learn all these shit. I can't relay any of your tutorial to put it into use for myself when you first made it, something too advanced for me to digest. But today I rewatched it, I begin to understand and found something I can actually start using it!!! Thanks!!
Still taking requests? Your execution is flawless with FK > FADC > U2. Is there anyway you can make a video that shows how you do it so well? There are other videos, but there are always slight variations as some press FA with up back, or down back again... what do you find works the easiest? thanks man
@gilligan1477 that sounds like a good idea, that would be an easy video to make too. Have you seen my beginner Guile tutorial? I show how you do a basic FK>>FADC>>U2 ,not the standing fierce to FK FADC Ultra and the other more advanced combos. If you havent checked it out, then just go to my channel or i have a link in this video. If you have then yea id be willing to upload a video.
@brainstem46 really? thats under beginners? lol i didnt even think to look there but ok... I look at intermediate and advanced... ok great man! thanks i'll take a look. keep up the good work
Really? Where were you and Gmon during NorthWestMajors? I was only able to get tips from Hydro(Cool guy btw) ! I only got to see one other Guile player :(
@dingledorf1 I wanted to be at Northwest Majors so much, but i was at Hawaii when it was going on. The tournament coordinators kept changing the dates so i couldn't plan properly. Gmon was definitely there tho. There must have been quite a few people there if you didn't see him. I didnt know that Hydro was there, thats pretty sweet.
yo i live in seattle to i would pay you to have a gaming session with you. no matter what i do i cant consistently get down certain techniques like back dash u2. hit me me up brother.
Hey how do you do the double flash ultra input easier because sometimes i cant get the input right when i need to do it the most. Any tips in that crazy input?
This may seem like a weird request, but could you make a video on how to deal with "Flowchart Ken" and similar players. IE: Spam fireballs until the opponent is close then spam shoryuken when they're near. I do consistently well against most players, but I can't ever seem to break open these scrubs, and it's extremely frustrating.
Also, effective ways to deal with grapplers like 'Geif and T Hawk would be appreciated.
@dudee624 well sure, but i was planning to do bison and akuma first. To make a blanket statement; simply turtle. Match ken fireball for fireball until he comes to you, block and crouch tech, then punish his stupid shit. Geif is actually an easy match, spam sonic boom, you back-fist if he walks and blocks, and you flash kick or reverse sobat if he jumps over them; greenhand can't punish j-SBs. T Hawk is a little tougher, air grab works well even when he Cdives and lots of reverse sobats.
@dudee624 i think it was fair to say he needed to be nerfed; the one nerf that really sucks is the nerf to ultra 2. I think Capcom went a little too far on that change. Now its unfair in guiles favor instead of being unfair to the other fireball characters. It needed a nerf in either frame data or damage, Capcom nerfed both, so now he has 2 piss poor ultras. I really don't play much differently, it's just not as easy for some1 to learn Guile as quickly and he has less comeback ability.
@brainstem46 Hey dude, I'm also a fellow guile user and your tips are really helpful. It's not that often you see a skilled guile user in action, your combos are actually well timed and and seem to connect well. I also love how you don't just keep doing sonic boom's until your enemy drops (I hate it when people do that). It takes allot of practice to unlock the full potential of guile and that's what your video demonstrated. But can you do a video on how to counter endless fireballs also?
@SoulKingForever have you seen my Guile-Akuma match up tutorial....to fireballs spamming where the fireball has 2 or 3 hits you have to be at the correct distance to be able to jump in roundhouse on reaction. For the fireballs that only have one hit, you simply work yourself into backfist range by throwing jab sonic booms and advancing with bazooka knee. After your in that range, throw jab sonic booms while backfisting right after you throw it to punish your opponents recovery.
Yo anyone who calls your combos impractical cracks me up. You show by not cutting your vids that consistency is key for those combos and every one of them are punish or capitalization combos. Buff execution.
@xBokkiNx Hey that means something when coming from the execution master himself. Before you got really skilled, about how many hours a day did you focus on execution?
@brainstem46 LOL I don't even know. When I played ranked in Vanilla I'd spend at least 15 mins before online matches and 15 mins If I lost more than 1 in a 3 matches (so alot back then). Also alot of time exploring random safe jump stuff. Training mode was important. If you can't do your best combos on command you're just handicapping yourself in a match. Does Flashkick FADC ultra still work in AE? As in is it viable to go for still?
@xBokkiNx yea it works, but its even harder to hit and should only be used as a finisher now. You must not have seen it because you would have laughed. The Ultra 2 damage is comical when used in a combo. Guile has 2 mediocre ultras that are about equal in effectiveness. Id say, If your a person who doesn't know how to do it already, your time is better spent on learning other fancy tools in AE
Nice video, top notch execution, keep them coming, specially on AE. it seems we Guile players will be struggling again, fortunately not as hard as we did on vanilla.
@MoD1ns1d3 thanks man...seriously, i got better as a player by watching your videos and watching Yoshiwo's matches in vanilla...thats funny that you would comment on one of my videos seeing how i try to make my videos as similar as i can to yours
@brainstem46, you're welcome man, and I appreciate that comment. by the way, since you have already tried Guile in AE, does the nerfs really hurts Guile a lot? which matchup became worse that it was before?
@MoD1ns1d3 Hes great in super so it will seem like he sucks, but i dont think the nerfs will cripple him, its the same character except he doesn't do as much damage and its harder to hit his ultra 2. It just means the rounds will be longer and we have to play smarter. Since the matches will be longer, itle be harder against characters like Gief where if u make 1 mistake u lose; so lots of 5-5 matches. I think he might do well against the twins, i could be wrong, but theres might be some hope!
I don't understand why you're getting bent out of shape. You post a vid with highly impactical combos and then call it adavced. If you had name it adavced combo tutorial I wouldn't have said anything. Knowing these combos aren't going to help you beat anyone high skilled. Guiles zoning game is worth 3 or 4 vids themselvies. Guile has tons of punishes and baits so highly situational that knowing this stuff is high level Guile play.
@branh0913 oh my god pal, did you even read a sentence of what i said to you. If you watch any of my videos you would know that my channel is for struggling SF players. I want constructive criticism, but it seems you comment so you feel like hot shit. I wasn't bent out of shape before, but now, congrats, I am. So unless you have any more tips or links to quality guile tutorials, please shut your arrogant mouth...btw if you think those combos are impractical u need to work on your game.
Also a good frame trap tutorial on Guile would be nice. SSFIV has lot of mashers, and I think good frame trap knowledge would carry over well into AE. Considering all of the changes, I think frame traps with Guile will be more essential than they were in SSFIV.
High level Guile doesn't need these combos. Most are very impractical. FK FADC ultra is really important at high level, but you don't really need that either. Sonic boom spacing, good baits, and tigher defense is very essential for high level Guile play. Guile is a very big spacing character, but unfortuantely these type of things are hard to put in tutorials since they're pretty matchup specific. A good high level Guile is really good at spacing, baiting, and punishment.
@MrBranh0913 lol well excuse me good sir...maybe you should put out a few videos then...on a serious note, its good to have as many opinions as possible...all that crap you said tho is what makes up how you play guile as you always would and have I probably explained most of those things in my other tutorials.
Nice to see you made use of the session we had the other night.... but did you have to end the video with it??!! lol I still say Double Flash should have gone through that Sonic Boom!!!
@tokyodeathgod well it wont be as important in Arcade Edition, however i have an ok tutorial on how to do it in my beginner guile tutorial if you want to check it out.

Thank you for the help. An Akuma/Bison tutorial would probably help a lot more people. I'd be interested to see it as well.
Also, how do you feel about Guile's nerfs in AE? Do you think they were deserved? How does it change his playstyle if at all?
