@Farvetto Correct me if I'm wrong, but I would think that in a sword fight, you would probably rather have your opponent hitting your sword and not you. The last time I checked with my doctor, he said that losing my head would probably be fatal. Really, I just think that hitting a sword on another sword defines sword fighting.

But consider buying yourselves a couple pair of high-quality Rattan sticks, about 28 inches long, and learn some Eskrima (also called Arnis). The stick training, once mastered, is easily translated to knives and swords, with the exception that blades require more fine-tuned wrist movements to position the blade edges for slicing. Otherwise, much safer training with sticks. Bruises are better than cuts.

Sloppy. In real life BOTH of you would die at the hands of one another if you had real fighting swords made of good carbon steel hardened to Rockwell 53 - 60. Take it from one who studies in FMA (Filippino Martial Arts)... you both have plenty of work needed on your footwork. Why not practice the 12 basic angles, both on offense and blocking, rather than the same movements constantly. You have only a couple angles down. Tangle with someone able to exploit the others and I feel sorry for you

But the name of the video is "Duel real sword fight" and the word dual implies a fight to the death. So to say they are going to dual I expect them to try and hit each other and know what they are doing.
