Actually the omnia is no longer cheaper than the xperia. The xperia dropped down $100 in price to $449 n the omnia is still $459 so I guess the xperia wins in every category :)

my x1 never worked properly from the start over-heating, it crashed using the phone other than for calling waste of time the google feature made phone over heat 1 went into Sony store in Kensington in London to see if they could sort the problem they totally dismissed my claim - never again will buy another Sony phone I have to say Vodafone uk very good dealing with my problem replace it with n97

Wallet, TV, GPS, 5-10M pixel cameras, Bluetooth, WiMax,,,,

those are all standard functions in Japan.

As Japanese language does not need QWERTY keyboard,

they dont seem to be smart phones.

gotta admit though, the iphone set standards on the touchscreen response that no phone yet could match. Maybe the Nokia n97 will be able to do that. It would be nice to see a phone on the market with a touchscreen that could challenge that of the iphone. It would put it into serious competition for possibly a better deal.

All you people who say it slow, have you actually used a RETAIL model?

From what I can tell the prototypes had no 3D acceleration yet on the panel interface but the actual retail model is supposed to. That would account for the slowness.

It really shouldn't be slow, based on the previews it looks as slow as my HTC Wizard and it should be miles faster than that based on the specs.

it's probably gonna be slow just like all SE's other smart phones :o( regular trips to 'task manager' will need to be undertaken to shutdown programs you used ages ago. But still, I've had SE smartphones for 3 years now and even with the slowdown and crashes they're so worth it!

Almost all small windows mobile phones are laggy and slow. This phone cannot compete with iphone 3g simple because of the windows mobile platform. everytime you have to use this stylos. Even this guy missed the dial, imagine if he had to dial 10 digits. If you don't need some kind of special applications and mainly use your phone for calls and entertainment then get the Iphone.

Dear god it's sooo slow changing between panels... I hope new firmware sorts that out. It's my pic for next phone, but I like the way HTC Touch Diamond completely hides Windows Mobile, that's it's strength, the interface. As for the iPhone, I want to be able to put anything I want on it, not be bound by what Apple says I can. It's suppposed to be mine afterall... (or would be if I ever wanted one.) depends if you are just having it for cool factor go iphone it's more reliable and responsive and has a friendly interface, but it's more geared for itunes and apple products but the apps store has promise. but then again it doesn't shoot videos. but the xperia does it all but from my experience with ms mobile it's not reliable if anything wait for the blackberry thunder its touch like the iphone that's what im going to do

well, i'm not really a fan of apple products BUT my unbiased opinion is that with xperia running 6.1 rather than 6.0, it's more reliable because i have used 6.1 for months and it blew 6.0 out of the water with reliability, the main reason that winMo os has problems is becuase of the memory, but the xperia has a ton of memory at its disposal. but the REAL reason i'd take an xperia over a 3g iphone any day is because xperia has hsupa which is 10x faster than 3g.

every phone that is made has a production phase. i'm sure the iphone was rather slow when they made the first prototype and that one in the video was yet another prototype, but it's better than the last prototype.
