This doc sure knows the process o the baby coming .. for fuck sake he knew exactly what to tell her and when to tell her.. even though some may think he strangled the baby on the way out.. my aunt is midwife and she said he did that with such precision realizing he had no other way to take him out fast he took a risk over his ability to carry the bay out form the neck with zero pressure on it's neck.. it;s like wing chun martial arts.
You people are all crazy. Listen if a women wants to be safe and know that she is doing everything she can to make sure that her and her baby are in the safest place in the world, incase god forbid something terrible happens and they need a Doctor asap, what is wrong with that? If I had not been at the hospital my son and i would have died. I had no risk factors and my pregnancy was perfect. Yet something went wrong and we almost lost our lives. If we were at home we would not be here today!!
@rastgurlz1976 Statistics do not lie. In low risk births, home birth is safer than hospital birth.Hospitals are not the safest places in the world. In fact, the infant mortality rate in American hospitals is higher than in any other "civilized" nation in the world. Hospitals are really only the safest places if you have complications. If you were at home, your midwife would have known something was wrong and transported you to the hospital. I would trust a midwife over a hospital any day.
I guarentee that if this WERE a homebirth, she wouldn't be lying flat on her back. Also, she probably wouldn't have had been "pushing through hours of painful contractions" as the video stated. It probably would have taken her much less time. If women trusted their own bodies instead of the medical profession, births like these wouldn't occur.
another example of doctor convenience vs. mother comfort. "Here sweety, why don't you lie flat on your back at just the same height as my chair and just beneath these spotlights so I can do my job easy! At least I will keep things slow and easy instead of rushed and hectic, but in return I'd like you to try to push this baby Up and Out. Thanks for your consideration of ME and MY comfort"
@sarajoyhoots LOL! Lovely way of putting it! And in another example that shafts the guy in the delivery room who is a dad I am reading in a certain celebrity president of the 1990's (you can guess who I am talking about) when his daughter (my age) was born and how it was considered 'risking life and limb' to be able to be in the delivery room when his daughter was delivered medically by c-section. that wasn't even 40 years ago. Does that sound more dated than 40 years ago?
@AnneLiesveld Thankfully he was willing to risk 'life and limb' but I recall reading him talking about being not too impressed with their choices regarding him. doctors deciding how to birth the baby and giving themselves the choice regarding whether or not it is 'necessary or not' for the baby to be around the father for their first few seconds of life. lol. how lame.
I think this poor woman would have been more comfortable having that big baby on her knees, another position than on her back. I can't believe that she didn't make any noise- she looked so uncomfortable like at 0:08 after she's pushed and at 0:41 when she's pushing.
SO happy for you & your beautiful family!

frumlady 10 months ago
this is not a homebirth but ive tried many different pushing positions and this was by far the most comfortable birth position even with a 10lb baby

Not only is this not a homebirth, but it is about the worse position to give birth in....
