  • how the hell have i mised this video? anyways it makes sence to give 5 year old a gun. if he's gonna play cowboys and indians, he might as well do it with real gun. plastic is just not cool.

  • Cenk...Where the hell have you been? The black man has been getting screwed by Repubes and the judicial system for years, so I'm not suprised by the voting stats.

  • @IsDaMicOn78 it was the demoractic party that fought the equal rights ammendment stupid the black man was screwed by southern democrats for 150 years and there is no more putting the black man down any more its a level playing field change the record that argument that whitey is puttin them down is no longer relevant

  • @woget264 One, if you honestly beleive that there is a level playing field, then there is no arguing with you, because you and most Repubes are lost. You are actually arguing that Southern Conservatives were sympathetic to the treatment of African-Americans, and Democrats were fighting it? That flies in the face of everything we know about civil rights, but if it makes you feel better then by all means continue, I'll deal with facts.

  • @IsDaMicOn78 no the democrats just traded one kind of slavery for another rather than forced labor with no pay they trade welfare housing and food for their vote. Thats just what the parties do i hate the parties i dont support either because one way or another they buy your vote the liberals give you other peoples money the conservatives cut yo taxes. Tell me some of the facts you deal in. Don't try to think that im some closed minded idiot i keep a lot of company with different people/opinion

  • @woget264 Ah yes, the tired played-out "blacks are enslaved by welfare" argument. FACT: More whites on welfare than blacks. Whose money have the "liberals" giving away? I know I've worked for mine. FACT: In the criminal "justice" system, African-American criminals recieve the max or stiffer penalties for the same crimes as their white counterparts. If you need more, just open your eyes and step into reality. In fact since you have no stance, you probably fall for anything that sounds good.

  • @IsDaMicOn78 i never said the blacks were the only ones on welfare or the one who used it the most bro i just said that that is what the system does thats what the party does buy your vote just like the Republican party who buys your vote with lower taxes.

I think that i want some more of your facts i feel like falling for one that sounds good rather than form my own opinions which i clearly dont amiright. And im not defending the justice system or saying that is perfect opportunities areequal

  • @IsDaMicOn78 and how exactly isnt it a level playing field how in what way are any ethnicities being oppressed now tell me. soon the whites will be the minority so even if you still believe that blacks mexicans asians are being put down by whitey they will soon be able to do something about it

  • Americans don't learn.

  • wait didn't columbine happen in that state?

  • Guns for convicted violent offenders, and guns in Kindergarden classes.

The Pro-Life movement, ladies and gentlemen...

Let's give them a big hand.

    (mock applause)

  • yeesh... this is sketch. im from colorado i didnt even know this. why would children need guns? wtf colorado

  • I need a gun... To keep myself from harm....

The poor people... Are burning in a sun...

They ain't gotta chance... They ain't gotta chance...

I need a gun... Cuz all I do is dance! Cuz all I do is...... dance!

  • kindergarteners shooting eachother, brilliant....

  • ugh. It's called having guards - that carry arms. Every school in the system I've gone to has some.

  • @TheloniousCrunk95 We don't guards in schools. It just makes everything more like a prison. TheYoungTurks have a video on it.

  • gun control is crazy the second amendment= the right to bear arms shall not be infringed upon. there is no way you can interperate that it is crazy to say gun control is an option when the phrase litererally conrtadicts the constitution. if you are a good american you should fear gun control laws just as much a sopa type laws or the patriot act it give the gov more control and makes it easier to loose our freedom provided by our democracy

  • @woget264 Throughout its history the constitution has been changed; Its very name the 2nd amendment means the second change.

What is meant by arms? Are they 18th century weapons, such as muskets, daggers and swords? The Founders could not have forseen AK47s or atomic bombs. Where do you draw the line; can a person have any weapon, without limit?

We already have gun restrictions; you can't take one into court, to school or on a plane.

  • @MySammypoo

Not to mention that the KEY reason for the 2nd amendment was that the Patriots who won our freedom were not an army, but ordinary citizens scrambled together- not at all like the mighty Red Coats. Thus, after they won the war, knowing that they may have to battle again someday (perhaps soon), the founders concluded that:

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

  • @MySammypoo any weapon can be used unless it infringes upon the rights of other such as rockets artillery. but you want an ak 47 why not the government has them what if the government stages a cu on our democracy they have tanks planes machine guns artillery rockets and assault rifles so can i at least have my own assault rifle to face the possibilities of armor and a regular army. the arms i think are assault rifles since they are the state of the art, just as muskets were the norm in there day

  • @woget264 I am not sure how rockets or artillery infringe on other peoiple's rights. I would hate to go up against a tank with just an AK47.

Your argument about the government having AK47s (they don't) so you should, fails in that the gov. has many more weapons, including nuclear, so why shouldn't anyone else.

As for state of the art, you may be right, I have never heard that argument. But people want and use even bigger guns. So should there be limits?

  • @MySammypoo AK 47 is an assault rifle the government has assault rifles so try not to get too technical that's just annoying. the reason having explosives like bombs or rockets or artillery means that you can affect other people around you in a larger area you can accidentally blow up someones house or kill them much easier than a gun would and just keeping one in your house that could damage or kill your neighbor or his things. i think that anything below rockets and artllery should be allowed

  • @woget264 It is hard for lawyers and judges to identify what the Founders really meant. The Supreme Court can make a ruling then reverse it years later.

In the 1780's they had grenades and cannon. Towns might each have cannons. A man could make a crude grenade at home. So the Founders might have considered grenades, at least, as arms. So are they still a right?

As for artillery or bombs being more destructive, a gun can kill more people than a knife.

  • @woget264 The is a history of the AK47 out, that calls it the true weapon of mass destruction. The atomic bomb was only used in war twice. The AK47 has killed more people and changed the lives and governments of many more countries.

  • @MySammypoo and i do believe that you lifted What is meant by arms? Are they 18th century weapons, such as muskets, daggers and swords? The Founders could not have forseen AK47s or atomic bombs. Where do you draw the line; can a person have any weapon, without limit?

from a one bill maher so i would hope you stop using that morons materiel he is just awful

  • @woget264 No I did not know that Bill Maher said the same thing. Just because someone else said something does not make it invalid. Argue the point not what you may think of the person saying it.

  • @MySammypoo yes but he tries to be funny and sound like he knows his things but he doesnt. he also believes that the militia is supposed to protect us just from foreign powers. but the right to bear arms lets us kill other Americans which is good because the government is Americans now especially with the 17th amendment taking away state power the federal government has more power than ever we need those guns in the possibility that we would have to defend our liberty from an oppressive gov.

  • @woget264 Punctuation. Is. Good. It's really hard to read your posts.

  • @jmilhoan7 I'm sorry but did you understand because its really important.

  • @woget264 ohhh did i spell sarcasm wron

  • @woget264 Are you saying the constitution lets you kill other Americans? Hey, get all those murderers off deathrow, they had the right to kill other Americans. Can they kill foreigners too? One reason for the militia was in case of foreign invasion.

People seem to place greater faith in state gov. over federal gov. States have failed many times to protect all their citizens. How many armed white men would have accepted segregation against whites?

  • @MySammypoo not lets you allows you to have the opportunity not saying its ok but still letting us do it if the need arises there is a dual purpose for the militia to protect us from the feds and against foreign invasion tojo said he would never attack the us mainland because there would be " a gun behind every blade of grass. And your getting off subject we havent had a true free democracy untill the 1960s with the civil rights bills but we have to be carefull now and always.

  • @woget264 You don't need the constituttion to allow you to kill someone. I don't think there is any system in the world that allows individuals to kill other people. Killers don't need permission, they just do it.

  • @MySammypoo yeah but if the person yo want to kill example the government basically enslaving you who has guns and you dont you dont stand a chance. I am wondering if this debate is worth it seeing you are begining to lack what would to me seem like easy cognitive process of assuming that you would know that that is freakin obvious that you can do what ever the fuck you want its just the consequences that you suffer afterwards.

  • @woget264 You said that you think that citizens should be allowed assault rifles, but no more. A tank can kill you just as easily whether you have AK47s or not. Soldiers are more likely to shoot at you if you have a gun than if you don't.

Your original argument for guns was due to what the gov. might do. People argue for gun control because of what other people do do. They deal with reality, not what ifs.

  • @woget264 Where were the white men with their guns fighting the oppressive state govs. in the 1950's? Or is it ok if you are the oppressors? They didn't even need their guns, just their votes If they truly believed in their states' rights, why weren't they fighting the feds. When it came down to it, al the talk about rights was bull.

When Wallace said segregation now, segregation tromorrow, segregation forever, he meant oppresssion now, oppression tomorrow, oppression forever..

  • @MySammypoo You are talking like the us has always been a free equal republic or democracy with the civil rights amendment is when we became what the founding fathers intended. The whole civil rights is a touchy subject the governments at eh time were the state governments oppressing one group of people in the state no the federal government oppressing that one group over the whole country so it was a state matter not concerning all states and plus if they didnt like it move to a new state.

  • @woget264 Oppression is oppression, doesn't matter if it's state or federal. Would gun-owners accept curtailment of their rights because it was state law?

As for moving; what if you were green. The state gov. decides they hate greens. You could lose your job, your house, have your children taken away. Any kind of public facility you use is 2nd class. The gov. wouldn't want 100,000s of armed greens, so no guns. Don't worry, you can just move states.

  • @MySammypoo yeah you can if it is really so bad you can fucking walk if it was really so bad i would im not so sheltered i wouldnt walk away if i could and if i couldnt then the "greens" would have to wait for times to change or their fucked thats just how it works. the jews walked out of egypt.

  • @woget264 It's strange that you think Americans need their guns to fight against government oppression, but you are willing to lose your home, you job, your family. What is there left to fight for?

You can walk away from the fight, or like Dr King you can walk to it. He didn't even need his gun to fight oppression.

  • @MySammypoo nope we americans dont always need our guns but all i believe is that we can have them if we want or need them just in case. I personally cherish FREEDOM more than my home and my job. But never my family but my freedom for theirs certainly. Dr. kings period of time they could solve things peacefully which should be done before Violence but you should be able to when the time comes.

  • @woget264 The right to bear arms was there almost from the start. One of the reasons even then was to protect from gov. oppression.

A lot of racist southern whites in the 50s were cowards. Look at Little Rock; they were ready to pick on 9 black kids all alone. They even had the National Guard backing them. But when big gov. and the 101st Airborne, came to town, those armed whites against gov. oppression disappeared. They talked the talk, but couldn't walk the walk.

  • @MySammypoo Yeah that wasn't government oppression that was an isolated event about to turn into a riot it is a very fine line between opression and keeping the peace. That was the rest of the country wanted not what the government wanted ;/

  • @woget264 Little Rock was not an isolated event. It was all part of the fight for Civil Rights. You make some very strange statements. So oppression is ok if it keeps the peace.

If these gun owners wanted to fight oppression they should have been fighting the state gov. If they supported state rights, they should have stood against federal oppresion. That the 101st was bigger & stronger is no excuse. You wanna fight the gov, the gov is always bigger.

  • @MySammypoo You mean the state guardsmen were being opressive or the feds because i was talking about the feds stepping in was good it was using a check and balance power against the state of arkansas. The feds were protecting the rights of the blacks there as is their job. And the government is not and never will be bigger that the people who elect its body 300000000 americans and 1000000 so that is incredible that somehow 1000000 is bigger than 3000000000.

  • @woget264 Fair enough. I was wondering what serious gov. oppression meant to some people . You have answered for yourself, which is all you can do. I figure others will have different opinions.

There was gov. oppression at Little Rock. Either the state gov. was oppressing blacks, or the feds were oppressing the state gov. I suppose only those racist whites know is which oppression did they agree with or oppose? And why weren't they fighting it. I don't expect you to know the answer.

  • @MySammypoo yeah i didnt expect to find someone like you to give a valid arguement or form their own opinion not just repeat what youd been tolled. I tip my hat to you.

  • @woget264 I suppose you can find intelligent people, like youirself, on both sides of any agument. Peace.

  • @woget264 If we went back to how the Founding Fathers intended the constitution to be, slavery was accepted, and each slave counted for 3/5 of a free man.

It seems strange that many Americans think their government is the best in the world, yet so many feel the need to seriously protect themselves against it.

  • @MySammypoo They intended the Constitution to adapt to the changes of our world and fit the circumstances of the time to better achieve liberty. But some things were never intended to change. the constitution never said anything about slavery specifically that was the society at the time. And our system is most free and safe from the worst possible outcome it is no way perfect and i never said that it was and if any person feels that they dont need to protect themselves from it is stupid.

  • @woget264 Cheack out the three-fifths compromise of the constitution. It even comes before the Bill of Rights. It recognised slavery by giving slaves 3/5 of the vote of free men. People accept that the constitution can be changed; how are we supposed to know what was never meant to be changed.

Thew question is how should people protect them selves against gov. oppression? Those people claiming they need their guns for the fight, failed when it came time to stand up and be counted.

  • @MySammypoo ok i was wrong they adressed the vote but that 3/5 compromise was unconstitutional. all im saying is that people have to have the opportunity to carry one with out being demonized or treated differently for doing so. But still i love that Dr. King did what he did because he knew it was right and he did it in a way that fit the system and did it with minimal violence but if there was ever a time were they were gonna exterminate the blacks he would have fought any way he could.

  • as long as the teachers are psych screened this is a good law school shooters are cowards

  • One word: Columbine.

  • @BrandonSchleifer Unfortunately, nobody cares about Columbine or the victims of Columbine. All of that is dwarfed by the fear of not having a gun.

  • lol elementry kids pulling glocks on eachother sounds like fun if your teachers being a bitch shoot the chock board whenu don't understand something

  • There's a song by The Gorillaz called "Kids with Guns." this story made me think about that song.

  • Gun mfg push the bills? You're a joke.

  • They want to force you to send your kid to school so they can get shot.

  • I don't even want my kids going to school. It's dangerous and they make stupid people.

  • @TheYoungTurks we have psychopaths in Washington trying to make one world government

  • High Schools and Elementaries are not appropriate for guns but I think College should be fine. When I was at Temple U. in Philly I had a gun pulled on me and I wish I had one to defend myself too. But it was against the rules, unfortunately criminals do not follow the rules...

  • The notion that we are absolutely helpless unless everyone is packing is absurd. Like there's no other solution. Fucking people just want to bring their toys to work.

  • why are americans so fucking obsessed with guns?

  • @justcallmeassinine I would change a little to be an armed and scared society.

I hear story after story of shooting or almost shooting family and strangers because when you live by the gun you are always looking over your shoulder and the first thing you think is shoot.

I am generalising I know, but its not uncommon. To live in fear, or in want to answer with the gun, mistakes are so often made.

Yeah, the riots and inner city wars is another issue.

  • @waltermh111 And everyone who has a job must be required to carry a gun to work. When your boss or another co-worker gives you some disrespect, you can put an end to it right away.Irritating customers can be dealt with fast and efficiently as well.

  • The crime rate isn't due to law abiding gun owners, laws try to stop criminals who can easily evade them.

  • @Montyfiable The criminals were mostly law abiding til they broke the law.

  • @waltermh111 your point

  • @Montyfiable Of course the crime rate is not due to law abiding citizens. That is pure logic. BUT there are many cases of law abiding citizens turning into criminals with one act of gun violence. That is akin to saying that by getting rid of the murder laws, there will be no more murders, which is correct.

  • Here's an idea. Why don't we train our teachers in educating our children properly. Train them to teach. Education standards in this country are disgraceful.

Then we can train armed guards to be armed guards.

  • @MySammypoo

    EXACTLY!

  • @MySammypoo No better to train teachers to blast a hole in the heads of troublesome students and parents who give teachers more stress.

  • @MySammypoo We could also train some of the children to serve in the armed guard school services.I'll bet a six year old boy would love that ! Call it the AGSS.

  • America needs to get together.lets make it a date.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL @ these comments. Everyone are such "experts". The gun debate is a fire that feeds itself. Anti-gun people who usually don't know shit about firearms push for ridiculous laws that really only affect law abiding citizens so then the pro-gun supporters push back with equally absurd proposals.

  • I live in the UK. We have guns for hunting. That's about it.

Do we have a higher crime rate than the US (per capita)? No. Its lower.

Are we scared because we do not have weapons in our homes? No.

The vast majority of our police do not carry guns, and it's a very good thing.

I understand its too late to change things in the US right away. There are too many guns, too much money in guns. But by starting a steady process of restriction you can stem gun violence in your nation.

  • @FatalRefund so what if we have to revolt against the government? what will we use?

  • @TwistedComplex The government has tanks, i don't think an Glock is gonna overthrow any regime that has the most advanced military tech in the world.

  • @tuberinmyhead Are you telling me that 300 million Americans are stupid ? We can shoot down drones with our pistols because we go practice at the shooting range.

  • @TwistedComplex Did the Egyptians recently, or the people of India in there time, use guns? Did the disenfranchised black people of the US or South Africa use guns successfully to change things? No.

And before you say what if the Government was using the military on you, can you imagine your current military turning its weapons on American families?

    Fear is the problem here.

  • @FatalRefund what about iran?

they didnt have any guns and their military had no problem gunning them down

and by the way, why are guns illegal in mexico, but the murder rate is higher than in amierca?

ill tell you why. because guns arent the problem. culture is

people like you im sure use the same argument for legalizing weed.

"well someone who wants weed is gonna get weed, so making it illegal just helps the black market"

why cant you apply that logic to guns?

  • @FatalRefund Americans do not know fear.

  • @FatalRefund America runs on fear and hate. It's everywhere.

  • @FatalRefund americans are so intent on keeping their guns because the country was founded with this in the constitution so that you can overthrow the government if they gain too much power. We are terrified of living under tyranny. Therefore we are directly terrified of losing our guns. If you lived in the US and saw the kinds of bills that the government has been trying to impose you'd see that the fear is based on something very real.

  • @Mashuga31 The problem here is your government is less accountable to the people, you refuse to overthrow them democratically at the moment, why would you with guns?

The rate of successful re-election in the UK is about 59%, in the US its over 90% (for congress). Your politicians do not fear the people at the ballot box because you are so good at keeping the status-quo. If they did you wouldn't see mad bills like the indefinite detention provision in the NDAA bill or SOPA and PIPA.

  • @FatalRefund Ugh, the problem is that youre right. Government is getting a little too comfortable with their power. But I, like many other Americans, have too much to live for at the moment. It would take more than one person to start a revolution. Im not keen on dying before my actions have any real effect. My goal: a girl. I've got to get to her. If by some odd chance the government interferes with that, then I guess its my time to fight. Until then, theres more on my mind.

  • @FatalRefund Well you just keep the UK the way it is and the US the way it is. I is morally unjust to prohibit law abiding, good people from owing firearms. As for restrictions, I cite Russia, who has very strict gun laws and a murder rate 5 times that of America. America's violence problem is due to the drug war and the vast amount of money criminals make off of it.

  • @Montyfiable Russia does not have 5 times the murder rate of the US. It is just over 2 times (5.0 to 11.2).

As for regulation, why not cite Norway with strict gun laws, and a rate of 0.6, or Canada with 1.8, Iceland 0.3, Denmark 0.9 , and the list goes on of comparable 1st world countries. Why cherry pick locations. Look at the preponderance of the evidence.

Interestingly the non firearm homicide rate in the US is comparable to other 1st WC. While firearm homicide rate is many times that.

  • @quedorf Russia does have murder rate 5 times that of the US, I don't know what you google'd to get your stats but they are incorrect. Every think the reason for high homicide is because of a cultural difference? Canada, which is were I live, has some of the highest rape rates in the world. I have never understood why leftists think it is wrong to be able to use a firearm to defend yourself at home. Or why you can't use one for target shooting, or why you even need a reason to own one.

  • @Montyfiable I got the stats from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes. Where did you get yours?

As far as the rape statistics. According to the Feasibility Study on Crime Comparisons Between Canada and the United States, by the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics, "Due to significant definitional differences, it is impossible to compare sexual assault in Canada to forcible rape in the United States."

  • @quedorf I buy my statistics at StatBrat. You have to register and use a paypal account, but you can get great statistics that support anything you want ! I highly recommend this service !!

  • @Montyfiable Of course it is because of cultural differences, but that in no way means that it is not because of a culture of fear combined with the easy access to firearms that cause much of the problem.

I have never understood why people assume that because you look at the stats, and evidence, and expect people to use them honestly, without excuses, that they are immediately labelled a leftist, or that they do not understand firearms. I myself have many.............

  • @Montyfiable .........Not saying you labelled me, just past experiences.

  • @Montyfiable Because we leftists are afraid that if we have a gun always nearby we will use it on ourselves,or our wives, husbands, in-laws, or co-workers.We cannot stand investing in something without actually using it.Target shooting is not really a fulfilling pastime.

  • @justcallmeassinine who are you to decide what is a fulfilling pastime? Well, I pity you that you are so mentally unstable that you are suicidal and homicidal. My gun will protect me from nut jobs like you.

  • @Montyfiable Oh no it won't.I have an army of armed and trained Navy Seals who are out looking for you now. You will not even have the luxury of being near your gun as your skull explodes.

  • @justcallmeassinine You are insane. You are being incoherent and I suggest psychiatric evaluation IMMEDIATELY! Please, I am being serious.

  • @Montyfiable Have you noticed any strange vehicles parked near you ? Be aware of your surroundings.Be armed and ready.

  • @justcallmeassinine You are a freak. Seriously, something is wrong with you.

  • @Montyfiable Of course it is wrong to prohibit it. We don't here. Nearly anyone can get a licence, I have one. However pistols are restricted, and automatic weapons too.

Russia's rate is due to rampant organised crime and corruption. Compare a nation with lots of guns, Finland for example which has the 4th highest gun per capita rate, has a 14% gun homicide rate. Compared to the US rate of 61% for arguments alone, (gang related is nearly 100%). nij.gov/topics/crime/gun-violence/

  • @FatalRefund Why should pistols be restricted, why can you only shoot them at a certified range? Automatic weapons are prohibited btw, which makes no sense since a semi auto can be shot at the same speed. Why are their magazine limits, I could return a magazine to full capacity easily if I wanted too.

  • @Montyfiable I don't make policy (kinda wish I did though) so I can't give you all the answers. First of all pistols are easy to conceal. You can conceal a rifle or shotgun but its not as easy to get out quickly. Hence why long (30cm barrel, 60cm min in total) pistols are permitted. Even the Olympic pistol squad has to practice abroad.

2nd only .22 semi auto rifles are permitted. Anything higher is ok in bolt action.

Google is your friend. The 6.6% gun homicide rate speaks for itself really.

  • @FatalRefund You are SO wrong I can't believe you have your license. Semi automatic rifles can be center fire they just have to have 18 inch barrels and a 5 round mag limit. .22 rifles don't have these restrictions. What is stopping someone from concealing a pistol classified as restricted, nothing.

  • @Montyfiable Again. I do not live in Canada. I am a British subject living in the UK. We have totally different gun laws.

  • @FatalRefund You are so wrong I doubt you even live in Canada. I am 16 and wrote both regular and restricted courses when I was 13. I have a minors permit but when I turn 18 I will have my full restricted licence. Meaning I can own pistols, ar 15's, mini 14's. m14's ect ect.

  • @Montyfiable a) Never have I said I live in Canada. Note I say I live in the UK totally different country. ; )

  • @Montyfiable

Wikipedia "Gun politics in the UK"

Read that for more information. Again I don't make the rules. Having one of the lowest rates of murder by gun in the world is worth the restriction in my personal opinion.

  • @Montyfiable You are talented and should teach this type of skill to students in the elementary grades.

  • @FatalRefund You are factually WRONG. Look at these new statistics- telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/5712573/UK-is-violent-crime-capital-of-Europe(dot)(html)

  • Note I say murder BY GUN. Those stats refer to violent crime as a whole. Also the article itself states that the UK considers crimes violent that are not considered violent in other nations. Also that was published in 2009. That's hardly new. Read my comments, read the article fully and I am not factually WRONG.

  • @JCRF Just noticed I did say total crime rate. My bad. Later I mention gun murder rate so sorry for implying you were incorrect in correcting me. Thanks for drawing that to my attention. I compared FBI total figures with UK total figures. However this article only considers violent crime. Which in the US does not always include robbery.

  • @FatalRefund Wow, thanks for being honest and actual considering your error. its not often I find integrity in the youtube comments section! The message I was trying to get across is the old adage that guns don't kill people, people do. The draconian gun control in the UK has seen it that only criminals are armed (illegally) and the rate of violence and hooliganism hasnt dropped but actually increased. The root cause of this is not gun ownership, its a social/political/economic issue in society.

  • @JCRF No problem : )

Aye, that's completely true. Would you say its draconian because it's restrictive? Or because of the way it restricts? Just wondering : )

While ideally everyone owning a gun should have no affect on crime, (see Finland or Switzerland), I think in Britain it would. As the article points out, violent crime is on the rise, guns would make it worse. Plunging a knife into someone's flesh takes more will than pointing a small piece of metal and pulling the trigger (in my opinion).

  • @FatalRefund Good argument but an icepick to the kidneys while the victim is facing away,of course,is as easy as putting a fork into jello. Its very inexpensive and mimics a small caliber bullet wound.Really doesn't take much will once you've had a little practice.I recommend it for all sorts of petty disagreements.

  • @JCRF Culture as you say is the main issue. I think in the US and Britain we have a larger culture of fear, perpetuated by the media (especially in the US) and our politicians.

Our criminal justice system is also flawed. Every time we try and follow the terrible US example we make things worse. Every time we try and follow the models of low crime nations it's decried as going soft on crime. Despite evidence it works. One day we will work it out and we can all have .44 magnums. But until then...

  • @FatalRefund I wouldnt really suggest gun ownership would solve all the crime problems in UK, but demonizing gun owner also does little to stop it and only effects law abiding folks. You use the example of knife attack. I would not want my mom, or sister or anyone to be at the mercy of people like that. A gun could protect them from that fate. Until the larger societal problems are solved I believe honest people have a right to self defence, so at least in the meantime one doesnt become a victim

  • @JCRF Aye, I have no problem with gun ownership. But you put a lot of easy to use deadly weapons into circulation and people are going to get hurt. If its easily available for self-defence you can bet it's gonna be easily available for offence too. People have the right to self defence, including the use of lethal force, in the UK. We could argue this to the ends of time so I'm gonna end my debating here. Nice talking to ya : )

  • @FatalRefund Wasn't the idea of "stab proof" knifes floated around in the U.K. From what I hear some areas of London have high crime rates. There is a difference between "lower gun crime" and lower crime in general.

The U.K is also an island, which means that it is easier to control the flow of prohibitve items onto it, where as the U.S borders Mexico, which means that any thing from South America can walk its way up to the border. It would be like the U.K bordering Russia.

  • @FatalRefund Sharia law is coming soon to the UK. Revert to Islam or you will be hanged in public soon.We don't need guns.

  • Letting ex convicts obtain guns is probably a way to make it easier to send them back to prison. Making sure minorities stay within a cycle of in prison or getting ready to go back to prison.

  • Republicans are SO EVIL

  • this law would be for teachers and parents so they can stop things like columbine from happening, there is nothing more american then shooting a murderer while the liberals hide under their desks

  • @WarThug13

That is SUCH a leap that "they will be able to stop Columbine from happening"... You might say "Well, at least it gives them a chance." Well, what if they make matters worse when they try to take out the killer, miss, hit an innocent in the face, and are killed themselves? See? I can make a assumptions, too!

If we are at the point where we are even CONSIDERING this kind of action (And we are, in truth, quite FAR from that point...) We need to just hire armed guards.

  • Cenk you are a fucking retard if you think children would be able to legally carry guns, i know you dont think that actually you are just driving propaganda and fear mongering, i didnt realize i was watching fox news, your biased reporting on guns is so pathetic and unfair

  • The whole gun-control policy in campus is stupid..

If someone is going to shoot somebody, he can just put it in a backpack and pull it out and start shooting.. no policy will prevent that from happening unless we do check for every single person entering a campus, so i think the whole gun-control thing is moot... if you want to bring a gun, you should be allowed to do so as long as it's concealed.

  • @IncentiveMediaTV Excatly.

  • Why would you even need to bring a gun to elemantary-highschool??? It will only make kids think that guns are okay, and will just cause problems!

  • willl these politicians come to thier senses when they start getting shot at? probably not.lol

  • @KlipKultur5 shut the fuck up you peice of shit guns don't kill people do how bout you keep that in the back of your head next time you say that

  • @Iwanakillxx

    Tanks don't kill people.

  • @superhamzah85 Indeed ! Drones with laser guided missiles don't kill people either !

  • I beleive that we should be able to express our 2nd amendmant right to own guns and that even exfelons should still have that right ( my opinion ) but bringing them onto school campus is way to over the edge

  • I'm not ashamed of my state very often...this is an exception

  • Over time I've become more in favour of freedom to have guns, but this is beyond all bounds of reason.

  • @Nemesis000000 Oh don't be such a pussy !

  • It's not the kids that would bring the guns in, idiot. It's the teachers. You're an idiot, Cenk. I used to like you.

  • @adobepoopscript Guns near children is a crime against humanity and to say that it is okay is sick.

  • @adobepoopscript I hope next they can let doctors carry guns into surgery. you never know when you might need to protect yourself. Maybe if we are lucky will be able to carry guns onto planes.I just hope they don't give Mr.r Hassan any hassle for carrying his guns to school.

  • @HeartTheBOX We should have public guns available in vending machines ! Or install them in the public phone booths that are still remaining.

  • @adobepoopscript

Still a retarded thing to do...

  • @adobepoopscript like thats soooo much better..

  • The Second Amendment is the most retarded right ever.

  • Colorado, the state in which the Columbine Shootings happened. These people are disgusting.

  • Man, am i glad i live in Germany where I can be sure that none of those idiots I see in the street are carrying a gun.

  • Comment removed

  • @ekras01 So you spent 2 years waiting in Munich for a sex change procedure ? Why bring that up here ?

  • @justcallmeassinine Huh? Is that what Google translator says? That's funny.

  • @ekras01 Yes that's what it says.Did you finally get the sex change ? Why did you have to wait so long ?

  • What I REALLY love is how Republicans are always bitching about how incompetent public school teachers are.... So let's give 'em all GUNS!

  • Many "felons" aren't real criminals and need guns to protect themselves too because they have to live in really dangerous neighborhoods.

  • Timmy- You are a doodoo head

Kenny-(Pulls gun out) Bitch say what!

  • under the current gun control laws we have the highest gun murder rate in the world BY FAR.i think if your mentally healthy and haven't commited a violent crime then you should be allowed to own a gun but there are some places where guns arent appropriate and certain people should not own them.the world has changed since 1776 wake up america

  • @feeblechrist126 Yes but we are heading back to 1776 and beyond.Soon the right to pillage, rape, and murder will become a right of all decivilized nations.

  • oh shut up i am sick and tired of democrats ooh gun control this gun control that if they want a gun by god let them have it damn

  • @zeldalord124 Well... if democrats took control we would have an increase in casualties due to people not defending themselves so agreed :|
