I remember my mother took me, my brother and some of my friends to a WWF card at the Captiol Centre in Landover, Maryland in 86' to see JYD battle Greg Valentine in the Main Event. In one of the prelim matches, Buddy Rose wrestled Brian Blair and he was so overweight that the fans taunted him with a chorus of "FAT ASSSSSS!!" chants that really seemed to piss him off!! It was hilarious that a dude that out of shape was still attempting to pull of the whole "Playboy" gimmick!

@stevedrums Natural causes I believe. He did have diabetes and was extremely over weight. But it wasn't a drug thing or anything like that if thats what you're wondering

"Playboy" Buddy Rose was a true great. I remember watching him battle Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka years ago on Big Time Wrestling from California and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in Don Owens Pacific Northwest territory. He will be missed.

Lockenjr. I lived in Cali where I saw Buddy take on Snuka in Roy Shire's Big Time Wrestling and We got Don Owens Pacific North West wrestling for about a year there. Got a few more territories in Cali like the Poffo's renegade ICW territory and the Blanchard's Southwest Championship wrestling as well as Championship wrestling from Georgia and Florida. God I miss the NWA.
