This is kind of how I think it will be: Hinata is in love with Naruto (like she is right now), Naruto finally understands that he don't actually LOVE Sakura, after a while Naruto falls for Hinata, Sakura keeps getting hurt by Sasuke but never gives up on him, and when Sai finally understand feelings (not sure about this part, though. Just an idea) and understands what love is, he falls for Sakura. (No hating comments about that, I don't actually think that's going to happen....... xD)

And Hinata is not the opposite to Naruto since just like you've said they were both looked down upon, they have common pasts just like Gaara, Sasori, Nagato, etc.
Hinata is not a Jinchuuriki and she faces her clan issues. Naruto doesn't have clan issues but those that involve the Senjuu clan with the Uchiha clan. Hinata and Naruto have different nindo while Naruto and Sasuke's always collide linking them together.

I love this video. To be honest, Sakura is my least favorite character. She thinks way too much of herself and expects to be loved. When Sasuke ditched her she came running to Naruto. While Hinata has always supported Naruto. That's basically why NaruSaku just stinks.
