1) Shawn seems to say all the right things. He talks about feelings he doesn't seem to be having. When asked his greatest fear, his response is very telling. If the parents had googled "Shawn Devlin", it would have given them Shawn's yahoo profile page, complete with a close-up photo of Shawn's cheek and his recognizable mole.His age "15" and hometown "Kirkwood" should also have raised red flags

This reminds me of the case of Steve Stayner, who was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by Kenneth Parnell for years. Parnell kidnapped another boy,Timothy White, however, Stayner helped him escape by dropping him off at the police station. The cops brought him in as well and he finally got to go home. There was a movie made, it's on youtube, called "I Know My First Name is Steven." It really gives insight into how a child is indoctrinated with fear and shame. It's hard to watch though.
