Actually the beginning of Jungle Emperor is some what cannon to the original 50's manga (I've read both the first and second Manga - when Leo/Kimba was a kid in the first and adult in the second) so you can't say that Jungle Emperor 1997 copied the lion king's opening animation because its vise versa! Go read the original manga and you'll see what I mean. Regardless, good video...
My mom made me watch this when I was about 8 or 9 I cryed so much. It's also the only Kimba movie I've seen. So when I see video's with the series I get all confused. lol

Disney didn't copy from this movie as the Lion King was created in 1994 and this was created in 1997. However, Disney did copy from the TV series and this is a continuation of the TV series which is why they are so similar.
BTW, it is possible that this movie is ever so slightly influenced by the Lion King, but the Lion King was going to be a remake of Kimba so I think that it's equal really.
@powergirl07 Jungle Emperor Leo was influenced from Kimba. The lions look exactly the same, and is basically like Kimba number 2 xD. The Lion king is also copy off Kimba mixed with Hamlet. so both movies were based off the tv show, and not eachother really. Both Leo and Kimba both have the influence of humans in them though. that of which the lion king doesnt have.
